We are huge fans of many such as California pepper, Foxpoint seasoning, Galena Street rub for ribs, etc. Yes their prices are a bit higher than your standard supermarket selection but quality and freshness cannot be beat. There are so many spices and choices that this is a must stop for serious cooks. They also have many specials and discounts that help make it more affordable. You can order on-line and do in store pick-up at one of their two locations in town. It is important to support a local Wisconsin business especially one that provides high quality products.

Highly disappointed that Penzey's refused to do the right thing in this situation, and would rather lose a long time fan of your spices over the owner's personal socio-political beliefs - which have no place in a business model. Between the winding driveway and the old, abandoned guard shack it feels like a giant trap until you park and enter the store to confirm it is in fact a spice store. Outside of that, staff was pleasant enough but not particularly interested in asking if you need any help. Since I had a general idea of what I wanted, I didn't let that bother me too much and found some small gift sets for my employees to serve as part of their Christmas gifts, though I do wonder how many other people just leave and end up at the mall instead? In the past they often had little deals or bonus items while you were checking out, but that didn't seem to be the case this time--inflation must have gotten them, too!

They also sell jars for storing spices, cookbooks, etc. I've been to other locations, but the 74th St location is my closest shop. I can't even remember when they moved in but it's always been well maintained and well stocked. Herbs and spices up front, baking goodies in the back. I love the little kitchen nook that baking items are displayed on, reminds me of my grandmas kitchen. They are staffed by friendly and helpful employees who love cooking and baking as much as everyone else. Don't hesitate to ask questions or for suggestions.
