I made my hopefully final move into a house and scheduled them for 9am. I called around 9:20 to find out where they were, no one had contacted me. Said there was a personal emergency and it would be 10:30. 11 rolls around, still nothing. I call again because they are not keeping me updated, they finally arrive around 11:30. It took over six and a half hours, constant complaints of how a third guy wasn't sent, they didn't wrap anything other than my tv, and actually broke off some of the brick on my steps at my new place for how rough they were being with my belongings. And after all that.... A 5% discount. Please do not use Jaguar moving. You and your furniture deserve much better.

When they were unloading the truck, they mentioned that they did not have the proper dollies to move the heavy appliances. We were never told that or given the option to stop the move before it started. They proceeded to attempt to move one of the appliances. It fell crashing to the ground from the truck. The movers would not write the damage on an invoice. I was asked to pay for the move, and instructed the agent that I did not authorize the charge but wanted to speak to a supervisor. The agent said he would have a supervisor call me. Instead, they charged the card 10 minutes later, and no one called. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT WORK WITH THIS SHADY COMPANY!

The guys were very professional and polite. They never complained about the difficulty of the job and the extreme heat in Jacksonville. They worked hard the entire 9 hour job! I am writing this as a public service announcement: Do not hire New Chapters Moving Company. What…read morestarted as a $579 quote turned into a $1,200+ disaster that left my belongings broken, my apartment half-empty, and my storage unit a dangerous mess. 1. Property Damage & Negligence The most devastating part of this move was the complete disregard for my electronics. I provided professional TV boxes with foam corners; instead, they shoved my TVs into two-piece boxes with the screens exposed. Now, both TVs are ruined. One screen is visibly shattered, and neither unit will even power on. They took "professional" equipment and treated it like trash. 2. Price Gouging & Bait-and-Switch This company practices predatory pricing. I was quoted $579. Once they had my items on their truck overnight, the owner demanded $1,260. I felt completely extorted. He offered a measly 10% "discount" when I complained, but the final price was still double the estimate for a job that wasn't even finished. 3. Chronic Unprofessionalism The movers arrived 1.5 hours late and spent the first 30 minutes on the phone with their boss. Despite having a reserved freight elevator and a storage unit only 4 miles away, they moved at a snail's pace. They went "radio silent" for over an hour while I waited for them at the storage facility, later claiming their phones "died." 4. Incomplete Work & Reckless Packing * Abandoned Items: They left numerous boxed-up items sitting right by my apartment door, forcing me to deal with the move myself after paying them over $1,100. * Storage Disaster: They packed my unit so poorly that I can only open the door six inches before items begin falling out. Sentimental items were crushed and broken because they lacked basic stacking skills. 5. Zero Accountability When I sent the owner photos of the damage, he spent 30 minutes on the phone defending his "professionalism" rather than offering a refund for the damaged TVs or the unfinished work. He is a smooth talker who takes no responsibility for his crew's incompetence. I had to hire another company to fix the mess he made. Save your money and your sanity. This company is dishonest, overpriced, and will break your expensive belongings.

First of all, while other companies replied back through Yelp, Scott was the first one to be like, "We need to talk IRL." So he called and we discussed my needs and what services he had to offer. He sent over his insurance information and a questionnaire to be completed so that he could write out the contract. I received an electronic copy of the contract prior to the arrival of the movers and a paper copy was made available for me to sign upon their arrival. Did I mention that this was all within a few hours of closing? Did I mention that this was for a next day move? This man is an organized machine, I tell you. Following the move, he sent the electronic receipt for payment and I was able to submit an electronic payment (with a small convenience fee tacked on) after the movers left. The two guys showed up EARLIER than expected (I know, right? That NEVER happens!) and immediately got to work wrapping and moving furniture as I finished packing (yes, because I'm a lazy slacker). They moved the furniture, delivering everything as best they could. There were only a few minor cosmetic issues with a few items delivered. Overall, they did a phenomenal job with what they were given to work with. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a reputable company that does business in an organized and professional manner.

I had a very frustrating experience with Momma's Moving Company and would strongly caution others…read morebefore booking with them. My furniture was damaged during the move, and my bed and dresser in particular was completely mishandled. Although the movers assembled it before leaving, it started falling apart shortly afterward. When I inspected it, I found that five screws were missing that the movers took with them. Later, Momma came to my apartment with those screws but clearly did not know how to reassemble the bed and was unable to fix it. She asked me if the guys asked me for any side jobs. I thought that was very unprofessional. She calls a lot during the move to micromanage her movers. The next day, the movers returned and spent about an hour putting the bed together while visibly struggling and complaining the entire time. This bed can be assembled in 20 minutes. The movers also wasted a significant amount of time during the move. One mover spent about 15 minutes trying to disassemble my TV stand, even though I repeatedly asked them not to. He insisted it had glass and needed to be taken apart, yet he could not disassemble it and ultimately moved it as is anyway. That time came out of my paid two hours and was completely unnecessary. The biggest issue was the lack of transparency with pricing. I was quoted $420 for two hours, and the move was completed within that timeframe. Afterward, I received a phone call requesting my credit card information, which I had not been informed about beforehand. I had to give my card information on the phone call with momma. I was then told the total was $455 because of added credit card fees, which were never disclosed in advance. When my card was charged, the total was $478. Momma called as soon as it happened and I was told this might have been due to duplicate credit card charges and that it would be corrected, but I never received any follow-up. A week later, I checked online and saw that the quote had been changed to $468 after I signed the original quote for $420, and I was still overcharged because my card was charged $478. All this price changes were done with no communication from this company. Overall, this experience was unprofessional and frustrating. Between the damaged furniture, wasted time, poor communication , and inconsistent pricing, I cannot recommend this company. Please be very careful if you choose to use them.

Unfortunately, the company behind them is the real problem. From the start, I was told (in writing) that my move would take around two hours. I agreed to pay for the actual time spent, up to three hours. The job was done in two -- yet they still charged me for the full three. When I questioned it, the owner was condescending and dismissive, acting like I was being unreasonable for expecting honesty. They offered a $50 refund for the overcharge, which I never received -- and it's now been a full month. To make things worse, they broke a $100 mirror and offered me roughly three dollars in compensation. After multiple attempts to follow up, they stopped responding altogether. This company is dishonest, manipulative, and completely unprofessional. They lure customers in with low quotes, then overcharge, avoid accountability, and ghost you when there's a problem. The movers deserve better than to work for a company that treats customers this way. Avoid them at all costs -- there are plenty of moving companies out there that actually value integrity.
