I stopped by this Pep Boys today just have the air pressured checked in my tires. I thought while I was there I'd make an appointment for another day to get my tires rotated. I gave it 1 star because not only they quoted me "with" an extended warranty, even though I never asked for it, then once there the Mgr Nathan Bogema only wanted to give me 5% discount for something that was 10% off! Additionally, my car was a mess with everything taken out & thrown out in the back seat and floor out of my glove compartment, including my car registration with black marks from his dirty hands, my phone cables in another location was also thrown over the back seat AND my dashboard is all scratched off which lowers the value of my vehicle! AVOID. Went in to patch a nail in a tire that was a good four inches from the tire wall. Pep boys said they would charge $39 to fix but later came back and gave me a song and dance how their plugs would not work and that I needed to spend $500 for two new tires but I could have a 'deal' if I bought 4. I'm not an idiot so I drove to Tire Kingdom who fixed it for FREE because they said it was such an easy patch. I asked them if they had any concern about patching the hole and they said NONE. This is a solid place to get work done on your car. We brought my Jeep in to get a tire change. When you get the tires changed, they check on everything else to make sure everything is in order. They looked at the shocks and alignment in addition to changing my tires. We brought tires that we had already purchased, but you can buy them in store too. They can call around to find whatever parts you want. Roland, who assisted us, was very helpful in finding what we needed. The prices are fine and we were able to pick up our car shortly after dropping it off for service. They even have a Dropbox for your key if you need to drop your car off outside of business hours. Overall, this is a sold location that makes getting auto work simple and easy. I would recommend this location. read more

Made an appointment for an oil change at 1:30. When I arrived at 1:25 I was informed the only person who does oil changes was about to head for lunch. They were sitting at the counter doing nothing when I walked in. I got multiple reminders about my appointment, but they scheduled lunch for an hour at my appointment time. I went to the Casselberry location for the first time since it was on my way home and I was overdue for an oil change plus they supposedly had a special. Huge mistake. Not only was I overcharged (and the desk guy said he couldn't manually override the incorrect price and his manager wasn't there) but on my way home from work two days later, my warning light came on saying my car was low on oil. DO NOT GO TO THIS PEPBOYS I purchased set of 4 tires with a warranty. I had gotten a nail in 2 tires after an inspection, I was told one of the tires could not be repaired and I would need to purchase a new tire. With the tire warranty it still cost more than $ 250.00. The tech got my keys and took my car to the bay. When I got my car back it had gotten dark so I could not see my tires, the next morning I noticed both of the tires that had been repaired my rimes were scratched terribly. I Called them to make them aware of my issue and I also went back to the store. I Spoke to assistant manager who took pictures and said he speak to manager and I should be getting a call within a couple of days. Brought my car in a while back To a pepboys it's on 351 Avalon Park S Blvd, Orlando, FL 32828 to fix a coolant leak, they stated they fixed it and other issues such as a bad thermostat and charged me around 1,723$ for it. I went to another, mechanic to fix an oil leak because I felt Pep boys over charged me for previous services I had with them in the past, but I had no choice at the time. In addition to the oil leak the other mechanic found that I had a coolant leak, meaning my problem I paid Pepboys to do was never fixed and my car was still leaking coolant the entire time. I tried getting my money back, but the guys at pep boys asked for proof stating pictures would prove if they messed up, but when I told them I had the pictures on hand and the faulty parts they neglected to fix. Suddenly having physical and digital proof no longer counted and they refused to give me a refund while constantly lying to avoid disputes I've been having regarding the charge on my card. They sent receipts of another service with a completely different person and car to my bank to "show" they provided the services I asked for. I have sent two disputes now trying to get my money back because I have proof they never provided the service I brought my car over for and they have refused to look at it both times and lied about it. I tried talking to customer service, but they also just ignore everything telling me I need to bring the receipt from the other mechanic and the parts they fixed to the pepboys to look over. He told me this while threatening to close the case regardless if I did or not. I asked the customer service rep that if I didn't have the receipt or parts from the second mechanic would that mean the pepboys are allowed to do this? and he told me over the phone that if the team at a Pepboys decided to not fix the car and still charge full price, there is NOTHING they will do if I don't have the details on how ANOTHER mechanic fixed my car. Basically its alright to scam people and take their money without doing their jobs and the team at pepboys as well as the people at "customerservice" are all ok with it. I do not want to pay them for a service they factually did not provide me. I am arguing that they charged me for a problem that was never fixed and I want a refund on the grounds that I never got my problem fixed from them, so I shouldn't have to pay for a result I never got. Pep Boys is an authorized repair facility for silver rock which is a Carvana warranty company less than a month and a half of owning my car from Carvana it had a catastrophic engine failure broke down the warranty company told me to take it to Pep Boys and have them repair my motor it took them over two weeks to get my motor then a week to install it then once it was installed the motor was done in properly and had a catastrophic engine failure again now Pep Boys in Silver rock or not repairing or fixing my vehicle as it sits another two weeks at pep boys repair facility. Late on a Sunday afternoon, I discovered a leaking rear tire with very low pressure. Richie at Pep Boys told me to bring it over and he would put air in it and schedule me for Monday. It was close to closing and I was upset, but he was cordial and reassuring. The air held till I could bring it in Monday at 11 and he had it repaired by 1 PM. He called me to let me know it was ready. He took the time to show me how to check the air, even though at 67 I won't be doing that. I told them I needed a patch repair on my tire and they asked for my key to asses. The gentleman came back shortly after and stated they couldn't repair my tire because it's a run flat and I would need a whole new tire. Without a doubt the weirdest experience I've had at an auto parts store. The customer service I received from the attendant was good and I can tell this is not an employee issue this is a management issue. Everyone hates rebates and you n I go to pep boys in Altamonte and I am looking for oil and I go to the oil rack and they have a deal for 19.99ish for a 5 quart .(good deal for sure). So I go to check out and I am told the total was 33.99ish. At this point I start questioning and talking to the customer service specialist and he proceeds to tell me that there is a rebate for the difference in the price. So I am not very satisfied at this point in time but I need some oil so I end up checking out. Then I go on the website and try to process the rebate and then I realized after filling out the information that I need to it will not process and less I have to wait another 24 hours(the time it will take for a customer to forget about the rebate) and it is throwing up an error saying I need to put The date of purchase but there is no line for you to fill that in. So after Messing with that for 10 minutes I decide to return the item because it feels like a scam at this point like they did not want me to actually fill out the rebate and get the money that they offered.When you have a price on your products you need to price and disclose your rebates better. It makes your consumer feel like they are getting scammed. Took in my Rav4 for an oil change - they tried to upsell me on engine and cabin filter. Engine filter was definitely not needed, it would have added $100 to my bill! Three days later took in my Highlander for an oil change - but had replaced the engine filter the day before - they didn't try to upsell me that, but did try to sell the cabin air filter $35.99 ($15 in labor - rip off) a complete coolant change $96.99, front brakes replacement $223.99, rotor resurface $40.00 and brake fluid exchange $59.99. Took the car to another shop and had them give it a once over and while the brake pads are worn and it wont hurt to change them, we will be spending much LESS than $223.99 for the job. The manager took my elderly neighbor who lives on SS money for over $700 - and she has a low mileage car with only 32,000 miles on the car, she had her fluids changed (!) Price are OK but not the cheapest I only came here because I needed my breaks changed and was in a hurry to get it done so i would not have to keep hearing my car squeaking anymore. They to match competitors prices but i got my front end breaks changed for $175 bucks after mail in rebate that I am STILL waiting for. The staff is friendly and they seem honest witch is important to me, I don't want some mechanic that is going to lie to me and tell me I need more then then what i really need and also charge me a lot more, I felt like they were some what fair with the prices and also they diagnosed the problem very quickly but took a while to change the breaks because it is the ones up front and "are more difficult to change". Four starts for honesty and prices but they could of done it quicker when they had a bunch of mechanics running around. I stopped in to get two new tires and an oil change at 10am. The sales rep (Randy T) sold me on an alignment as well for $99. At 12pm they call me and said that I have a bent trailing arm and that they could not do the alignment unless that part was replaced. It sounded fishy but I agreed and approved the additional work. BIG MISTAKE. At 5pm, they called and said that they ordered the wrong part and I would have to make an appointment to bring it back. So we made an appointment at 12pm Wednesday to complete the work. The sales rep (Randy T) had me pay for all the work at that point. I asked to see an itemized list of charges since we are now magically up to $1,100, however he said he couldn't print it and he flipped his computer monitor around and said "look, it's all right here". Of course after paying, I'm looking at the list of charges and it has all this bs like "extended warranty", "ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY", "SHOP FEE" blah blah blah... but no alignment and it says that I declined the alignment??? I tell him that this is not right and not what he told me during the estimate and he said bring it back Wednesday and they will correct it then when they replace the rear trailing arm. So on Wednesday I show up at 12pm and bring up these discrepancies. The service rep calls Randy and then tells me that those items printed wrong and are "computer glitches" and that "I was getting an alignment for free so its all good". At this point I'm thinking what bs just finish the work and I'm done with this crap bc they keep arguing and I know its lies. So no call all day... so I call at 6pm and they say "oh yeah its done, come get it". I show up and notice my car is in the exact same location where I left it (what are the chances of that). The next day, (Thursday), I look under my car and guess what... there is no new trailing arm part anywhere. To verify I'm not crazy, I had my neighbor look at it and he sees the same thing that I'm seeing.. no new part. I call and thankfully the manager Bryant answered and told me to bring it in and he will personally look. I get there, he puts it on the lift, and says to me, "you are right, they lied to you". Thankfully Bryant has integrity and morals and corrected the issue; refunded me for the part I was charged but was never replaced, and performed the alignment which was never even done but included in the original verbal estimate. When it's all said and done though, I wasted so much time and these clowns had me bring my car in for nothing so it can sit there and they can fake changing a part and performing an alignment. This is time I don't have as my dog just had surgery and I'm taking care of him and they have me running around for fake repairs that never happened!!! And I still am paying for these bogus charges "extended warranty", "ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY", "SHOP FEE" that I never agreed to. read more

PROS: - Told me up front about the estimate to replace the pads and any special offers available to me - Was honest and told me I didn't need new brake pads (phew!) - Also, didn't try to sell me new ones even though I could have replaced them (if I wanted to just throw money away) - Recommended tire deals as he noticed mine were going CONS: - didn't seem very organized or very good with communication (I had to ask why all four tires were removed when all I needed was the front brakes replace - kinda freaked me out) - don't bother doing the "express checkin" online. They had no idea what that even was... hmm. - Took them 2 hours to tell me I didn't need new brakes, although I heard they were understaffed so I guess I can understand. Overall, I still stick with the 4/5 stars. They're honest. They're usually pretty quick and they are definitely cheaper than most places. read more

With service stations and lube spots being notorious rip off joints, you would think a known name such as Pep boys would strive to rise above that stigma. This was not my experience. I bought 4 new tires which included mount, balance and alignment and I also had an 8 am appt to have them installed. I arrived before 8 and was told that they were down a tech, this resulted in my car not getting worked on till close to 9:30. The entire service took about 2.5 hours. At payment time I noticed the quoted price had changed, that was another 10 mins of proving my case. Then I asked for an alignment readout, to which I was told that they were not able to provide one, but assured me it was done. I drove off an immediately noticed the car felt off... I chalked it up to new tire scrub in. Long story short, they aligned my car with the wrong specs and never bothered to balance the wheels. I had to take it back a week later and wait another 2 hours to get it fixed. Since the alignment seemed to have been a bit too advanced for them, I took it to a dealership which confirmed it was completely off and provides me the before and after to prove it. Bottom line, avoid pep boys at all costs or buy the parts and do the work yourself as their mechanic staff is either overworked or not credentialed. I'd also advise to try discount tire who are much more thorough. read more

I came her because my power windows stopped working in the down position and it was set to storm later that evening so needed to have them put up and quick and find out what was wrong. The staff was friendly and they updated me regularly however there was no other cars being worked on at the time and it took them over 4 hours to tell me that I have a bad wire in my door that needs to be replaced which would cost an additional 200.00 on top of the $49.00 electrical diagnostic they did to find the short. It would also be an additional 2 hours to change it out and fix it. I am no mechanic but I can't see how it took 4 hours to find a short in the door but perhaps it does... Just wasn't happy that I spent a lot of time waiting not knowing what was going on... some regular updates would have been nice. I really was expecting an hour or less. I was not able to spend the time or money that day to have the full repair done, however they did get the windows put in the up position for me for a minimal fee. They still don't work, but would rather them stuck up then stuck down in Florida weather. So there were pros and there were cons... so for now will give them an A-ok rating. Perhaps when I get the money and get the repairs fully fixed I will re-rate them at that time. read more

They have always been professional w me , however, I'm desperate for answers bc I brought my 2011 car in for AC service back in June. They did a test and said I needed a $400 part and that it wld take 2 days. Total was $750 w labor and an oil change. Get the car back and they forgot to give me an oil change. Had to go back the same day and get it serviced. The AC was blowing ice cold for like 2 weeks then BAM! Hot air again. Take it back a second time and they say it had low Freon. Ok. Blasting ice cold then after 2 weeks , hot air again. By the 3rd time I'm frustrated bc I was told the replacement part was THEE reason why my AC wasn't working. Cool. Take it back and now they say there were holes somewhere in the hose that needed to be sealed so all shld be good. Well now 2 weeks later it back to blowing straight hot air again. I'm so irritated bc I paid so much money (money I didn't have so had to put it on credit mind you) and the AC still isn't working. At this point I just want my money back. I'll even take half but I think it's unfair that I paid all this money PLUS a warranty and AC is still not working. I do not want to return for a 4th time. I honestly wld just like my money back. The hook of my trunk on my '08 Nissan Altima Coupe became loose and the trunk wouldn't close. I went to Zembower's and they wanted to keep my car, drop me off at work, pick me up, and charge me $100 for the repair. I don't know anything about cars, but I know it was just a simple fix as the screw came off and all they had to do was screw it back in so keeping my car for the day seemed unreasonable. I told them I didn't have time and they wanted to make an appointment for the weekend. So they asked me for my address and when I didn't want to give it to them, they said it was required by law. I said "for an appointment?!?!" That threw me off...I was baffled. I left...they seemed super shady and I felt the guy there was going to take advantage of me because I'm a woman and I came in by myself. I went down the street to Pep Boys (my dad always goes to them) and Jose Diaz took a look at it, screwed the thing back on for me and it took him 5 minutes. I gave him the biggest hug (twice actually because I was so grateful and ecstatic) and thanked him so much since he kept me from paying $100, plus an inconvenience for something that was easily fixed by one of their tools. I was having constant stalling problem with my '90 Jeep Wrangler. I thought it might be the alternator. So I took it to this Pep Boys and Nick tested the alternator said it was fine. Then he said to keep the engine running. 30 seconds later it was idling smoothly. Apparently a vacuum hose slipped off the side of the carburetor and Nick realized this and replaced it firmly where it belonged . Aaaaaand, all at no cost to me. Thanks Pep Boys! I brought my 2013 Maxima in for service because I heard and felt a slight vibration coming form the rear, The Service advisor seemed very annoyed that I was bringing my car in close to closing, (I brushed it off). After waiting and hour or so he told me they found nothing wrong, I breathed a sigh of relief. However driving home from work Monday 09-09-19, I heard and felt this noise and vibration even louder and more pronounced, I had to pull over it got so bad, after calling a tow truck he discovered I ONLY had three Lug Nuts and two of them were loose. They took me in right away despite the fact that I didn't have an appointment at their location. They jumped through hoops for me because there was confusion with my online order and they straightened it right out. The first guy I spoke with said to call back at 3 once everyone was back from lunch, and he could let me know if someone would be available. Okay, no problem. Call back at 3, spoke with a different employee. He said the "oil change guy" would be back from lunch at 3:30 and to head over then. I was specially told to arrive at 3:30. So imagine the annoyance when I arrive at 3:30 and am told there is an 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. Absolutely ridiculous. The employees claim that in the 30 minutes, suddenly 2 hours worth of customers appeared. Yeah, right. It would appear the second employee just did not actually check and see if people were already waiting for service. What a waste of time and gas. My car warranty is contracted with pepboys, therefore I get my services completed with this company.  In the past 2 months I have had to take my car in for repairs 3 different times all with in a week apart. The second time was in the result if a defective fan. This last time however was because my check engine light came on 4 days after a repair where a diagnostic check was performed on the previous 2 checks and with the 3rd drop off a leak is suddenly discovered. This location has personally made a very bad lack of attentiveness. This has been the most frustrating situation for me to keep having to deal with car issues. Each time they have serviced my car they have had it for several hours so there was no immediate rush.  But I will not be back to this location and will be leaving a very detailed review on every website I can find about this experience. read more
