Little did I know that I would be referred recently to this small retail dealer when my son's SUV was totaled in a multiple car crash (my son was shaken but okay). When my son identified one of the cars offered online on his list of possible makes and models, we checked the hours of the dealer and realized we needed to wait until morning to check it out in person. Of course, the wait allowed us time to look in depth at the Carfax History that is provided FREE OF CHARGE!! I found that many dealers require you to purchase it. My son, brother-in-law, and I arrived right around opening time and talked with Pete, one of the managers. Pete worked quickly with the necessary paperwork and releases so we could take the desired car for a test drive. My son confirmed with my brother-in-law and me that he did want to purchase the car, and after some negotiation and arrangements, he purchased the car. In our county's current car shortage situation, a decision needed to be made sooner than later. Pete was great to work with - he knows the vehicles and history - and explained the whole purchase process and what each disclosure, agreement, and acknowledgement meant. No worries here about the "old-time" car salesman routine! I whole-heartedly recommend the dealer because of Pete and Mike, the owner, and the quality of cars. Although the inventory is smaller than a regular dealer, checking it out is worth your time.

The good news is that the name remains the same, and Tom and his mechanics continue to service autos as before. Do NOT go here unless you want to be scammed, ignored, and left with a broken car and a lighter wallet. RUN AWAY they do not care! The new owner ZACH is completely unprofessional. If I was lying, I would've just left a negative star review but I'm taking time out of my day to write this so read it if you want. Do not let these five star reviews fool you. This shop was bought recently! I brought my car in for an AC issue. I clearly explained to Zach that the AC blows cold air for about 10-15 minutes after starting the car, then switches to hot air while driving. That's a specific symptom. I trusted them to listen and assess it properly. Instead, they called me and said the Freon was "halfway full," which might mean a leak. They said they'd install new valves and inject dye to check for leaks. Fine. I agreed. Then they called back and said they saw no dye. So... no leak, right? Not only that there was no leak that they saw before they even did anything or touched the car they just assumed! But anyways that should've been the end of it. But no. My boyfriend picked up the car, and within FIVE MINUTES of driving, the AC was blowing hot air again. Clearly, they didn't test drive it. Clearly, they didn't verify if the issue was resolved. That alone is unacceptable. I brought the car back. I showed a mechanic the AC wasn't blowing cold. He felt the air, popped the hood, and immediately said, "It's probably the compressor." Just like that. No diagnostics. No testing. Just a guess. I left the car again. An hour later, they called and said it's the compressor and now it's $900. Excuse me? Why wasn't this mentioned in the first place? Why wasn't a full diagnostic done before charging me for Freon and valves? If I had known it was the compressor, I could've gotten quotes elsewhere to make my decision. But they didn't give me that chance. They piecemealed the problem, charged me for absolutely NOTHING, and then dropped a $900 bomb after the fact. Let's talk about the Freon. I asked for proof that it was low. They had NONE. No before-and-after photos. No data from their $10,000 machine. Apparently, this fancy machine doesn't even keep a history log. So I have zero proof that Freon was ever low or even added. That's shady. Then they tried to take ALL the Freon out of my car when I asked for a refund. I told them, "If it was halfway full, leave half in." They said they couldn't do that. So I told them to suck it out and put half back in. They charged me $105 for that five-minute task. I got a partial refund of $237, but I'm still out $105 for something THAT TOOK 5 mins! and have no proof that my car was even low of Freon. I'm 25 years old. I didn't know much about AC systems, and I trusted their word. But after doing my own research, I learned that if the AC blows cold and then hot, it's likely NOT a Freon issue. It's something deeper--like the compressor. They should've known that. They should've told me that. Instead, they took advantage of my trust and lack of technical knowledge. This shop is untrustworthy, unprofessional, and underhanded. I'm speaking with lawyers to see what can be done. The way they treated me was awful. And don't be fooled by the good reviews--they're from the previous owner. This place is under new management now, and it shows. They don't test your car. They don't assess the full issue. They just guess, charge you, and send you on your way. Then when it doesn't work, they hit you with another bill. It's a scam. Avoid Tom's Auto Shop at ALL costs. Protect your money, your car, and your sanity.

I may be young but I cannot even begin to explain just how many times I've been in a rut due to car trouble. My experiences at various places (both big corporate auto shops and mom and pop type shops) have always been nothing but awful. It's gotten to where when my car needs to be looked at, I'm left feeling traumatized and reliving all of the times I've been taken advantage of, belittled, or ripped off by every place I've been to. Seriously, a man at Pep Boys spoke to me like I was a 5 year old child and caused a scene in front if other customers when I simply asked to make an appointment for a tire change. That's only one of over 100 experiences I've had. So when Triple A told me I needed to get a shift cable replaced, I immediately went into panic knowing I'd have to brace myself for wherever I went. I'm born and raised in the central Florida area and moved to Apopka almost 3 years ago. There's multiple auto shops around but I'd never been to Sheeler before until now. I came in and was out within an HOUR. Sadly, as a young woman, I never feel comfortable going alone to auto repair shops (that's another story for a different day!). I've learned to expect the worst. But this was by far the greatest experience. Everyone was super friendly, communicative and respectful. On my way home I immediately called several friends (other single women who have unfortunately had negative experiences with auto shops) and recommended Sheeler. I will 100000000% be coming back for any issues with my vehicle. Thank you sooooooo much for being honest and friendly. Words can't begin to describe what a relief this experience was!

Do not visit this shop it's a scam at best and incompetent at worst!…read more I originally brought my car here for a water pump job because my normal shop was too busy. Mechanic plus replaced the pump and I drove the car for a few months before noticing the coolant leaking and oil leaking. I went to my normal shop for the oil leaking when they told me the pump was leaking again. I got the oil leaks fixed and took it to mechanic plus and the first time they claimed they pressure tested it and it was fine. I brought it back about a month after because the leak was getting worse. I dropped it on Saturday when they were closed and got a call Monday morning saying they replaced the pump again. No way they did that job in a morning. Sure enough the next day it was leaking coolant faster than before. Took it to my main shop and they informed me that the pump was never replaced and that the problem was just a broken clamp above the pump. Not only did mechanic plus lie and claim they warrantied the pump but they probably never looked at the car or they would have seen the broken clamp. Even if your car breaks down in their parking lot tow it somewhere else.
