After returning to my work, I noticed that my car's brake lights were not shutting off, which is not the norm. Looked online to find that it could be one of four issues, so I took a look at the first one to find little plastic bluish pieces near my brake pedal. After looking on Youtube, I rushed from work to my closest Autozone, showed the worker the rubber bumper assortment part I was looking for, and dashed over to the Pep Boys near my house. It was nearly 4:50pm when I got there and was told I would need to wait a bit since they had a car which had been there for 3 hours for tires. The young lady told me it might be around $40 or the tech might not even charge - if you watched the Youtube video, it honestly took five minutes to complete it's just that there was a plastic cover which I could not get to because my knees just do not let me bend that low without problems. A short bit after, the tech took my car back to fix it. He was driving it back, and there was no charge. I was so worried my car's battery would die out and Pep Boys saved me today. One thing I will mention is that their waiting/sitting area only has two (really worn-out) seats, so it doesn't seem intended for waiting there long periods of time. read more

Last August, I visited this shop at Casselberry to get my car repaired. Initially, I noticed that the manager Devon was not particularly warm to greet me. However, after waiting for over two hours, he thanked me for my patience and offered a small discount. I believe he handles his responsibilities well. I recommend this store and its services for their reliability and good quality. Today, I visited the shop to get my oil changed. Anticipating a busy Saturday based on past experiences, I woke up early and arrived as the first customer, even though I hadn't slept enough. I surprised the manager, David, by waiting at the door at 7:01 am. His expression made me question if it was opening time. He confirmed that it was and sighed. And the words on my tongue were, "I can come back later if you want." David asked "What do you want?" to which I mentioned the illuminated sign led me to think I needed an oil change. He efficiently completed the job. As I was about to leave, I thanked him for his work despite catching him off guard. I wished him a wonderful day, to which he remarked that it was rare to see a customer so early on a Saturday. I explained it was the only time I could come before work, to which he replied that their shop existed for customers like me. Great place to get my tire repaired. I recently needed a tire repair after a puncture nail. I called Pep Boys was able to request an appointment over the phone. The day of my appointment I was quickly greeted and register to get my tire fix. Inside the lobby offer comfortable chairs, vending machine, clean restrooms. In addition Kcup coffee. Pep Boy mechanical placed a plug and air out the rest of my tires. I requested to get tire rotation which they did for free. Overall it was $20 plus tax and about twenty mins for completed tire repair. I would definitely come back for my tires. Tip they are ASE certified and offer full automotive repair. went to the Casselberry location they charged me $120 for a engine diagnoses. they told me it was a 02 sensor in 15 minutes. I changed 02 sensor same problem is happening. I then went back to them ,and was told that they always pick the 02 sensor first and if the problems is still happening go they change the catalytic converter.sounds like part changers and not technicians right! they wanted to charge me for another diagnostic 2 days after the first one ,after the wrong diagnoses. I took it to another shop where they showed me me how to properly diagnose the car. he showed me a scan that tells you exactly what is wrong that way no guessing like pep boys did Casselberry. this place hires guys who don't care about customers they just go through the motions with no sense of pride of there trad. Very poor customer service. We are new to the town and recently moved in, and needed an inspection/oil change. Took 3 tries to write down the proper phone number and still didn't get it right. Once we made contact they told to come pick the car up. Had to wait another 30-45 min before we could leave the lot. Another customer ahead of us waited FOUR hours to take her car. If your looking for a great place to get lubed up and F'ed this is the one. I purchased 4 tires here and an alignment. Day 1 I realize my tires were filled to 62psi, my max is 33. My tire popped thank god for hazard warranty so I get a new one, how ever it wasn't the right tire so I had to leave the car an extra 3 hours for the correct tire. Here's the kicker, they aligned my car again. I now have returned 3 times 10k miles later on my car only to be told they don't own software capable to service my vehicle alignment. Mind u I've gone 3 times and paid for this service. My tires are now wearing unevenly and the manager Devon. Won't help. He's a jack***. Bought new tires off autozone. I made appointment for an oil change. I had a $20. Discount coupon. My vehicle is a GMC Sierra with 5.3L engine. It requires 8 quarts of oil. The bill was 128.00. When I got home I reviewed the invoice (should have reviewed before I paid - my bad) and noticed I was charged 20+ dollars for fuel treatment which I did not request. This negated the discount coupon. I called and spoke to the manager and he told me that was part of the manager's special. I didn't ask for manager's special. He did not offer a refund. They asked for the car make and model, gave me my quote and that was that. Fast forward to 4:00, they NOW want to inform me, they ordered the wrong part after realizing they didn't check if I had the regular Audi, or the Quattro version of it & ordered the wrong part, adding an additional $200 dollars to my service and wouldn't do anything for the inconvenience & mistake on their end. Came here to get a tire rotation and a wheel alignment, was told that they couldn't rotate my tires because there wasn't enough tread on my tires and it was below their acceptable limit which was fair. That being said they put on 2 new tires and then called me halfway through the process to tell me they couldn't do an alignment because my control arm was bent and their machine wouldn't allow it, they then told me I needed new bushings and struts which all together would cost over $2000, that being said I told them I'd just take it to my mechanic to take a look at because that price seemed unreasonable. After taking it to my mechanic he called me and let me know that their whole inspection report was bs and there was nothing wrong with my struts or control arm but that my bushings were starting to wear but wasn't necessarily needed at this time. I told my mechanic that they said they couldn't do an alignment because if this reason which he again said was bs and ended up taking my car to the tire place across the street to get an alignment done for me. After all this I've realized that they were just trying to get me to spend $2000+ for parts that I did not need, and my mechanic ended up charging me less than $200 and my car is driving absolutely perfect now. DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND PAY FOR PARTS THAT AREN'T NEEDED. read more

Just brakes, I must say I'm disappointed. How does a $99 brake job turn into a push for a $600 brake overhaul? It wouldn't even be that bad, but you really scripted out your argument far too well! Your advisor had a well thought out argument for each and every reason I didn't want my "wheel cylinders" exchanged, except for the fact that I don't have the money. DISHONEST STAFF! I was leaving work late on Friday night when a strange light came on in my dash. I had no idea what it meant and a quick online search mentioned something about brakes. Being the sensible person I am, I did not want to ruin my car further by driving it around with an issue. So I did what I thought was right, I brought it to the brake shop. I told the manager that I had a light on and that I did not know what it meant. He said that he would check it out. 15 minutes later, he came back and told me of all the issues I needed to fix with my brakes. The total of the bill would be 175.61. I go home and three hours later my car is done. Great. I get in the car and start driving just to notice the light was still on. Thinking they just forgot to reset it, I go back. Turns out, the light was just my car telling me that my tires were under inflated! NOTHING to do with the brakes!!!! Normally, I would be fine, but this ruins my very low summer budget. I am a teacher and only have a small part time summer job. I did not need to have this work done right now. It could have waited a few weeks. At just brakes, they really only care about taking your money. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Now reading the reviews I should have stayed far away from Just Brakes. About August 2016 I needed some new brakes and saw an advertisement about their brake special. ($99) When going there I didn't cheap out and get the cheapest ones I decided to pick the middle of the road pads to insure they would last and I would have good braking. I was assuming I would spend about $250 on everything, they call back telling me all the extra things I needed done to my brakes bringing it to a total of around $400. Again I knew I needed them done and wanted everything replaced correctly so I agreed and they went ahead and did everything. Fast forward about 3 months and my car is shacking uncontrollably while applying the brakes, I called and they told me my rotors are warped and I need new ones, never mentioned anything about them to begin with when I first got service. I bring it back and realize they want me to spend another almost $300 on new rotors and brake pads since everything has to be replaced again. I am now all of a sudden spending $600 on brakes..... I again go ahead and get everything redone thinking there would be no problems after the rotors being replaced, I drive a block down the road and my brakes (without applying them) are crunching against the rotors and know they didn't do a correct job.. again, I am going to contact them and request a full refund for everything where I will use that money to, again, for the third time get everything replaced on my car. Moral of the story don't get your BRAKES done at JUST BRAKES. I know! The irony is killing me too. read more

Follow up on review. Called corporate office. Spoke to mike hall. He offered to pay for having rear drums turned agaun at firestone. Had to replace the new brake shoes I paid for at just brakes because they not only sent me down the road with leaking wheel cylinders, they did not turn my new drums properly. Had to have them turned again and replace the new shoes I paid for at just brakes. Stay away from these people. Do not take your car there. They do bad work and are bad news. Beware. So after paying 200 for rear brake shoes and having my new drums I provided turned by just brakes I still had to go to firestone and have the rear brakes redone completely. They only offeted me $40 reimbursement for the completely botched job they did. I had to have firestone return my new drums that just brakes turned improperly and then replace the shoes again. It was not just brakes fault that my wheel cylinders wete leaking. It wad their negligence for letting me drive out of their shop without noticing or informing me of the problem. It was their fault for improperly turning my new drums that I provided from autozone new in the box. It was there fault for causing me to have to get the drums turned again and for me having to replace the new shoes I bought from them. Hopefully the negligence and unsafe aspects of this review will ptevent others from being victimized as I have been. In my opinion, just brakes owes me a complete and full refund plus compensation for my time to get the brakes done again. I would conservatively estimate about 3 hours of my time for initial visit to just brakes plus aggravation. If I were unemployed I would picket the store. Peter read more

Bad, bad, bad! They do have that $99 break special, which is a good deal, however be prepared to go into battle and tell them that you are NOT interested in $1000 work of extra repairs. Stick to it because because they are very persuasive. I insisted on only having them replace the break pads and complete the basic repairs necessary and three weeks later they are STILL calling me and leaving me voice mails basically threatening me and saying that If I do not go back ASAP, that the car will all but fall apart. These clowns just tried to sell my brother 2 brake lines with labor out the door for 600 bucks.when my brother toldim he didnt have that much he said ok how about 500. 28.00 a foot plus labor he said or some crap. I went there many years ago and had the same thing happen but a brake job. why is this company still in business? If you have a bad review I suggest also reporting to the better business bureau, believe me its like hitting a companies credit score. edit....update...I made my brother call 2auto parts stores to find out how much brake lines are...approx 25 bucks a piece for the same lines he was quoted on....most companies add 25 pct tops...not the guys...i think they just make it up.i did t forget labor at 80 bucks an hr...but at this point can you trust them at all with knowing how to do the job.also...3people got up and walked out..my brother saved them from being robbed. read more

This is now a Pep Boys (no longer Just Brakes). I went in a few days ago after I called AAA to get a jump. The customer service was great and they explained everything about my car to me. Both individuals who were working on my car came in to actually talk to me and explain why they thought I needed a new battery. They showed me reports of how my battery was functioning so I could see for myself. I price compared with Honda. Although I found the reviews discouraging, we felt Just Brakes would be experts at brakes, due to the obvious name. I called ahead on a Saturday and they said to come on in to have them inspected. I went with my husband. They were busy but not slammed so Steven greeted us in the parking lot. They did an inspection and shared the findings with both of us. I hate places to speak down to women, but Steven and Royce were respectful to both of us. They suggested pads, which were wearing down, but not gone yet. They were to also resurface the rotors. They estimated 3 hours. We left and they called in about an hour and a half. My husband reviewed all of the work to be completed and price matched the quote. The items were needed for my Honda Pilot are ceramic so more expensive than some but comparable to what the Honda dealership was to charge. I would recommend Just Brakes to others. read more

My experience with this Just Brakes was much different than the others below. After being quoted a price by Lexus of Orlando to replace my rear brake pads and turn the rear rotors, I called this shop for a competing quote. It was less than half the price quoted by my dealership. Because I am a believer in using OEM parts on my vehicles, I bought the brake pads from the dealership's parts department. Just Brakes had zero problem installing these for me, and quoted me a very reasonable reduced price for performing this service and turning the rotors. Given the comments below, I double-checked to make sure that they actually used the brake pads I purchased at the dealership, and not their own aftermarket brand. They, of course, used the ones I brought in. The manager, Royce, was very professional in my phone conversations with him, he remembered my situation when I arrived at the business hours later and he even offered me a drink from his own supply when I remarked that their soda machine needs a diet drink option. There was no shadiness in my dealings with them, they didn't try to sell me any unnecessary services, the work was performed promptly while I waited and I left a satisfied customer (and with more money in my pocket than if I'd had this work performed at the dealership). read more

Beware. I took my wifes vehicle there to have the brakes checked because she was told that they needed new front pads. They did not need new front pads at all but I was told they needed rear pads rotors and calipers. Checked and was shown the pads had slight uneven wear. I was told new calipers and pads were needed. Was told that the rotors couldn't be turned any more so was best to get new rotors. Had no easy way of knowing if this was true. Was charged over $650. Learned afterwards that the calipers were fine. Didn't need the brake job at all. Also learned afterwards the competitive price was $553 for this job. I insisted on ceramic pads but I am betting they installed their cheap pads. Will find out in a few months I guess. I will never go back there. read more
