Worst customer service ever! Came in for a simple oil change. Kenny at the front desk said an hour and half. I check in two hours later and he says you're next up. Three hours later I walk in with my wife and daughter who have been waiting with me and find that my truck still hasn't moved. Couldn't keep my family there any longer and left. Originally I got my brakes and rotors replaced in Jun 2024. After a week they started squealing and i called to ask and was told to drive for a few weeks and if it isnt better bring it in. I returned July 2024 to the shop to inquire about it. I was told I needed to wear them down and to give it a month. I returned Aug 2024 and went on a drive with the technician who decided to place new pads and rotors. Here were are Sept 2024 and they are still squealing. I chose to use Pep boys because they came highly recommended. I called the day prior to confirm services and wait times. I was told if I came in at that time it was about a 90 minute wait; so I scheduled an appointment for the following day (today) at noon. I am recovering from a major surgery and sitting for several hours to wait would be painful and exhausting. I arrived early (11:45) in case any paperwork needed to be done. At 2:45pm a staff member approached me, I thought my car was done, I was wrong. He was giving me an update that there was still one car in front of me. I have been here for 3 1/2 hours as I write this and my car still hasn't been started. They said nothing about being behind when I checked in at 11:45, or I would have rescheduled as I had other appointments this afternoon which I am now missing. I would have left but I was under the impression they were working on my car while I sat here. Incredibly unprofessional with no basic respect or courtesy for their customers. This was my first and LAST time using a pep boys. Edited to add, changing from 1 to 5 stars for their honestly after evaluating, they confirmed that my brakes are not critical as my dealership told me, still perfectly safe to drive. They could have lied to make more money by replacing them but that still would have had to be done another day. read more

Paid $107 for an alignment to my vehicle that they never did causing me to catch a flat tire at 4 AM over 800 miles away from home. I ended up having to replace both front tires and have the alignment redone in Texas. This could have serious damage to my vehicle and put the safety of myself, and the passengers in my vehicle at risk do not go to Pep Boys! read more

Have no complaints with the work was done. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly. The only suggestion I have is place a papper floor mat in the car. Dropped the car off with power to have them diagnose what is wrong with the alternator. They did not move the car out of the spot that it was left in said they would not work on the car because of the wiring of the alternator harness. Offered no assistance in contacting a shop that can do the work. (We called plenty of shops that if they could not do the work they gave us numbers to people that could even electricians. These people did none of the sort. Did nothing to de escalate the situation. When we pulled into the parking lot the first thing I saw was that the car was LEFT OPEN IN THE RAIN WITH THE HOOD OPEN SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER DAMAGE WITH THE BATTERY AND FUSE BOX UNCOVERED AND SOAKING WET. While all of the workers were inside of the building or in the shop bay. The Car now has absolutely no power whatsoever. Cannot even lock the doors but when the car was dropped off it had power just would not crank. We are currently having the vehicle assessed for water damage. When asked for the General managers number we were told 1-800-PEPBOYS. Chuck wouldn't even write down the number. The gentleman in the front dealing with other customers had exceptional service but we are VERY disappointed in this shop as a whole. Would not recommend. read more

I write this review as I sit in the lobby waiting for service. Made an appointment for 4:00pm. Arrived 15 minutes early to drop off vehicle. Front staff member, a mature bold white man, greets me with "what can we do for you?". I replied with "Good Afternoon". He once again said "what can we do for you?". This is an instant loss of rapport with the customer. Manners and common courtesies. Are these still being taught at home? It is now 5:27pm and my vehicle (who needs a front-end alignment and a tire patched) has not moved from where I originally parked it. The reasons are unknown to me for not one single employee has talked to me since I sat down. Why would any customer make an appointment if it is not to be honored? I am not in a hurry and this review is not for the lack of timeliness in this shop (which is astounding to say the least) but rather to highlight the unprofessionalism displayed by the individuals working the front desk. My appointment was at 8AM. Our vehicle did get into the garage until 10:30. When I called they told me they were short Staff . They should have gave us the option of coming another time . Also we found a ride under my husband's truck. When we got an oil change in May they charged us regular oil change. This time they told us it need to have synthetic oil change. I bought tires here at first I felt as if I paid to much but when the sensor went out on one of my tires they were very helpful. Replacing the the piece even had my towed to their location for me. I went back when they replaced the alternator in my car and even allows me to use a coupon. I even referred a work associate to this location. I often feel as being a female I get ripped of but they had been helpful when things have gone wrong. The manager is the one who made this a pleasant experience. They also get the work done quickly. After experiencing a very bad tire service issues at Sam's Club, I took my car to pep boys to have it fixed. I was only told about one tire bolt that Sam's Club had stripped but when the boys at Pep Boys started checking my other tires they found a total of four stripped bolts. I was also very sad because my tires were less than 24 hours old and not balanced and I was going to have to return to have them balanced. Sammy went out of his way to make sure that my car was running smoothly and balanced my tires and made sure that my car was safe to drive as it was not when it arrived there i.e. how Sam's Club had sent me home the day before. My car is much smoother riding and safer to drive thanks to the guys at pep boys. read more

It took forever for them to even get to my car! I was the only one in the waiting area. Also they could not for some reason it took me fifteen minutes for them to check me out. Made an appointment online the day before. Arrived on time for a alternator replacement and left the car with them. They called me an hour latter and said I needed a new alternator, belt and battery. Tried to sell me a new battery but my batter was a month old. Told me $700 to replace my alternator which was ridiculous. Since I was in a rush from out of town I reluctantly agreed. Came back 3 hours later and my car hadn't moved. No apologies nothing. Took it down the road to Mavis and they took good care of me for $400. This place is dishonest and has zero customer service. Wife calls me and i go inside to raise hell because price gouge female customers. And the smart ass employee Billy is something else like he was mr big shot. Spoke to my brother who owns a mechanic shop and has been doing this for more than 40 years. There is not a huge price difference between conventional and synthetic to make it go from $45 to $ 91. How did Pep Boys get 2.5 stars? Average? That is what Pep Boys "should" set as a target mark. They dont deserve more than 1 star. I never made it to the store because I called ahead to make sure that they would honor the $49.99 full synthetic oil change that they are advertising online. They said that i would need to present a coupon. Okay, no problem, well, until you pull up the coupon advertised as $49.99, which would be there, per them, once you set an appt online and complete the process. No $49.99 coupon, but there is one for $20 off. Best call them prior to going. Normally full synthetic oil changes run $70 - $80, tops, but i called them and the "original" price is $89.99. Let me say that again...$89.99! Thats $70 with the $20 off coupon. Is $70 = $50, which is advertised, valid for March 2020? Not even close! Not even my remedial math skills says 'yes' thats accurate. If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband is too trusting and had taken his trucks for servicing here. The first time he had to have a new gas tank and gas pump put in. It took almost 2 weeks, way longer than they said initially.1000$ later and the damn gas tank/pump still doesn't work and leaks gas now. The second time he had his other truck towed there to have a bolt replaced in the transmission. A week later he finally gets ahold of these ppl and then they proceed to tell him they don't work on transmissions and the employee that was supposed to call him no longer work there?? So no one called to inform him to pick up his truck. He had called and spoke with said employee before he even had it towed up there. Go to a real mechanic do not go here please!!! Horrible. Mr Terri was very kind and patient and so sorrowful especially the last visit we made due to the death of their salesman Mr. Clyde. He warmly greeted us on our first visit , and patiently answered many questions until we found just the right tires for each truck. He was truly a kind ,Christian, man with a smile on his face every time we saw him and put his customers and their satisfaction first.
