Mi experiensa ene esta tienda fue HUMILLANTE, ARROGANTE, PREPOTENTE, y RACISTA por parte del propio GERENTE de la tienda (James). Mi familia ha vivido en Elgin por décadas y hemos llevado nuestros carros y camionetas a PepBoys y otros talleres pero jamas habiamos tenido una experiencia tan humillante como persona y como cliente. Asi ke me gustaria compartir esta experiencia al publico asi como lo hice con mi familia y amistades. Especialmente sabiendo que en Elgin la mayoria de la communidad es multicultur, Hispana y otras minorias . Esos talleres se mantienen vivios por clientes y no deberian de ser racistas con el cliente a ningun costo, ni por el color de piel, raza de a persona, ni por el servicio que el cliente nesesite: un servicio de $20 deveria ser tan importante como un servicio de $500,$100 dolares. Pero parece que para PepBoys no es asi. ..... Hace unis dias hice una cita en su taller en (Pep Boys), 1020 Summit Street en Elgin IL para una inspección de la alineación gratis para mi coche. Al llegar le dije a un representante llamado Luis que tenia cita a las 10:00am, para una inspección de la alineación pero luis me respondió: (sin ni siquiera checar en su Sistema mi cita), "por desgracia estamos ocupados". Despues me dijo que iba a tomar 45 minutos para checar mi carro; a lo que respondí "¿por qué se tarda tanto tiempo?" si mi cita era a las 10am no a las 11am, y me respondió que estaban muy ocupados. Entonces, le pregunté cuál es el propósito de hacer una cita?, pero se quedo callado.. Entonces salí por un momento para llamar a mi trabajo para preguntar si podía empezar tarde. Reegerese adentro y le pedi a Luis el número corporativo y él me preguntó lo para que yo quería y que si tunia un problema, y respondi que cuando un cliente hace una cita ellos deben respetar la hora; el gerente de la tienda (James Hochberg) estaba junto a Luis y él respondió que estaban muy ocupados y que si para empezar yo había hecho una cita; le respondi que Si.. y entonces él me dijo que YO tenía que haber llamado para confirmar que iba a llegar a mi cita. Mi Respuesta fue que hasta donde yo sabia es que es la Responsabilidad de ellos llamar y confirmar todas sus citas, y me respondió que yo estaba EQUIBOCADA y que era responsabilidad del cliente no de ELLOS!! Después de escuchar su tono de voz y acctitud, le dije que no iba a discutir ese tema con él y que todo lo que necesitaba era el número del corporativo, y que ya no estaba segura si iba a regresar y ocupar sus servicios; y para mi sorpresa él respondió: "Prefiero que usted tome su negocio a otra tienda y no vuelva aqui"!! Después de escuchar eso, le pedí el # de teléfono de nuevo y me dijo que yo misma lo podia buscar en el internet y ahi lo podria encontrar. (no podia creer lo que el me decia)!! Le pregunté si podía dar el y su nombre tambien en in pedazo de papel; y él respondió con una risa y manera muy sarcástica, "por supuesto" y mencionó que me daba el número de su supervisor (Roy), y se volvio a reir sarcásticamente. Después de darme a tarjeta le pregunté , "corrijeme si me equivoco.. asi que dijiste que prefiere usted que lleve mi coche a otro taller ¿no es asi?", Y James respondió: "por favor, salga de mi tienda y vallase, yo no estoy interesado en usted ni en mantener su NEGOCIO con NOSOTROS!". Debo mencionar que esta no es la primera vez que se les me NEGADO la inspección de alineamento en esta tienda. Me hace pensar que todas las inspecciones gratuitas que Pep Boys ofertas son falsas y solo ponen en prioridad a clientes que les van a dejar dinero por sus servicios!! PD. James nunca me dio el número de el corporativo si no de su jefe quien me supongo que son Buenos amigos porque el jefe del distrito (Roy)era el gerente de ese taller anteriormente. Es claro que James no quiso que Yo tubiera comunicacion con el corporativo si no con su Jefe para que el incidente no pasara a mayores. Hoy James tubo el descaro de hablar sin ni siquiera disculparse, solo para decirme que Si queria podia llebar mi carro pero a otro PepBoys, no ahi con el! My experience at PepBoys was HUMILATING, arrogant, and CAVALIERL; The way in which the manager (James) treated me. My family has lived in Elgin for decades and we have taken our cars to have services at Pep Boys in the past; I will make sure to communicate to all my family and everyone who I know, of this very, unpleasant experience to exhort to have services at Pep Boys!!! Days ago I made an appointment at Pepboys located on 1020 Summit Street in Elgin IL, for a Free alignment inspection for my car, since I bought new tires recently and was recommended to do an alignment. Arriving at Pep Boys a sales representative, named Luis, he asked how could he help me and I replied that I had an appointment at 10:00 am, yet he replied, (without even checking my appointment on the screen), "unfortunately we are behind schedule". He said he was going to ask the manager; seconds after he came out immediately and said it was going to take approximately 45 minutes to bring my car in to be inspected; to which I replied "why would it take so long?", and he replied that they were too busy. So, I asked him what is the purpose of making an appointment, but he kept in silent. Then I stepped out for a moment to call my job to ask if I could start at a later time. I went right back inside the shop and I asked Luis for the corporate number and he asked me what I wanted it for and if I had a problem, then I told him that as far as I know, if you make an appointment they must respect the hour!! at that time the Store manager (James Hochberg), was right next to Luis and he replied and said that they were very busy and he asked if I even had made an appointment; to which my response was yes, then he told me that I should have called them to confirm that I was going to attend the appointment. I answered to James that as far as I know it is the shops responsibility to call and confirm all the appointments and not the customer's and he replied that I was wrong and that it was the customer's responsibility!!-I couldn't believe what he was telling me!- After all this, I told him I was not going to argue nor discuss that topic with him and that all I needed from him was to provide me the phone number of the corporate office, because at that time I wasn't sure if I was going to use their services anymore; consequently, he replied: "I prefer for you to take your business to another shop and not to come back"! After hearing that, I asked him for the phone # again and he told me to go online and look for the number there myself. I asked if he could write it down for me including his name; and he answered me with a laugh and very sarcastic way, "of course" and he mentioned that he was writing down his supervisor's telephone # and his name, followed by another sarcastic smile. After getting the business card I asked if, "correct me if I'm wrong, so you told me you prefer for me to take my car to another shop, correct?" and James replied, "please, just leave my shop, I am not interested to keep you nor your service here. I should mention that this is not the first time that I been denied for free alignment inspection at this shop. It makes me think that all free inspections that Pep Boys offers are FALSE. Their priority it seems to be costumers that will pay for their service, free services comes AFTER, they leave them on the side. PD. James never gave me the corporate's number, but the only number he provided me with, was his supervisor's number (Roy) who was a manager at the same shop in the past before James, so that tells me James wanted me to contact Roy instead of the corporate, for some reason; specially after the laughs he gave me after giving me his number. Today James, called and didn't even apologize with me, he just said that I could make an appointment to take it to another PepBoys but not his shop!! I took my car here twice in over a year. Started hearing noises from my car and it started feeling weird. Then got an oil change at a different brand chain...They told me it looked like the oil had not been changed and almost cracked my oil pan. This could have cost my family a perfectly good car and much financial hardship. If I was not a mature person, they would have not seen the last of me. However, I am a good citizen and do not wish to be in prison. So, I decided to tell my story on this review board. I DO NOT recommend this location. They are scumbags...to say the least. This is a dangerous game they are playing. They are playing with people's lively hood and their transportation to work. I pray they feel the swift karma. read more

Lou is 100% the reason my wife and I continue to be returning customers. Since moving to Elgin almost 3 years ago I haven't even entertained the idea of checking out other shops or mechanics. Lou provides honest feedback and personally works with you, your lifestyle, and your budget.
