I went to pep boys for new tires. Dominick and the entire crew were very professional and respectful towards my needs

They didn't order the correct parts for my car even after I told them that my car had a sports suspension.

Worst service.. Had a flat tire and went here unfortunately. Overall bad service, the tech put his visibly dirty hands on my steering wheel at the end, opened the door etc.. to take the car out of the bay. I asked him not to do it in the future, as he is obviously soiling the interior without cleaning afterwards. The guy was understanding, but not so much the other guy, who seemed to be the manager. He told me to show him the dirt - no need to prove what I just saw and spoke about. Absolute worst service, even managed to call me an asshole. If you wanna terrible service plus being called names - go here. Going to call corporate and make sure they straighten this place up. Idiots read more

I loved this Pep Boys until they got rid of the manage. I went for an oil change and they no longer perform filling up your fluids and rotate tires. can't go in the morning because they don't work in the morning. absolute shit show. they broke my glove compartment. Never again read more

Absolute worst service. They claimed many items needed repair but did not! Stated my rear brakes were inoperable due to frozen calipers, they functioned perfectly. Stated that the front struts were "blown" they had no leakage or dents. Front brake was not worn out per their inspection report. Dominic's report was a lie! They should be investigated for fraud. read more

Was towed to Pep Boys because I got a flat tire while driving on Route 80. Wasn't sure if my tire could be fixed or if I would need to purchase a new tire. Even though it was close to closing, Dominick was very pleasant and was able to fix my tire. I was in and out within 15 minutes. When I do need tires I plan to go back there. I made two separate appointments for an oil change, both in the morning (8 and 8:30) both times I said I would be waiting for my car, both times I showed up on time for my appointment and both times I was told they had no techs there and I'd end up having to wait at least 2 hours if I wanted to get my oil changed. What else annoyed me is both times I got a notification from pep boys saying I canceled my appointment so I couldn't leave a review directly with them because it said I hadn't gone to the appointment. read more

Brought my car to Pep Boys in Hackettstown for an oil change and tire rotation. Easy to get a Saturday appointment. They did my service while I waited. Great price - the tire rotation was free! Made a recommendation about my tires but no hard sales or push for add ons. read more

Came in during the recent winter break in late Dec with a check engine light on. They diagnosed the issue with the emissions and fixed it the same day. Only problem was they forgot to install my engine cover. My family and I were out of town visiting family in the area and didn't realize it until we were back home in Virginia when they called me to ask if my cover was not on in early Jan. I checked and sure enough it wasn't but I was not going to be back in the area until possibly later this summer. They offered to ship it to me and I agreed. To this date, I have not received the cover. I called every other week since Jan and they kept having excuses on why it wasn't shipped (limited people working that day, unable to go to the post office that day, etc). They FINALLY "claimed" they shipped it in early March and I called after two weeks when it didn't arrive to ask for a tracking number. No tracking number, and I still don't have it to this day. I really don't think they actually shipped it and they have been lying to me this whole time about not shipping it. My check engine light is now illuminated which makes me question the validity of their repair now too because of their deceit. read more

Made an appt and brought my 2007 Mini Cooper to Pep Boys thinking I needed a new battery as my car wouldn't start. Dropped it off and was told that diagnostics would be done to check the strength of the battery. Received a call within the hour telling me that my battery was good and the car just needed to be driven more often to keep the battery charged. When I came back to pick up my car, there was no charge. They could have put a new battery in the car, and I wouldn't have realized that I didn't need one. It's so refreshing to deal with a reputable company and decent people. read more

If I could I would give them a negative 10 stars. The Hackettstown location sucks!!! My car was having intermittent problem with starting. I replaced my car battery and I was still having issues with the car not starting all the time. I took my car to Pepboys in Hackettstown. I explained to the man at the counter that Advanced Auto stated that they think the starter is going bad. 3 hrs later Pepboys sends me an inspection report that doesn't show anything regarding the car not starting only that I need rear brakes. Pepboys then calls me and tells me that my alternator needs replaced for a total of $771. I have them replace the alternator and the next day I have th same problem still going on. After 2 weeks I called and they told me to bring it in and they will do a diagnostic test. I said that's what they did 2 weeks ago when the alternator was replaced. A couple of days later I was at a gas station getting gas before work and my car wouldn't start. Someone jump started the car and I drove straight to Pepboys. Now after a 2nd look, the inspection report once again didn't show anything that was wrong other than needing brakes. Now they said it's the starter that is bad and needs replaced for another $733. NO REFUND OR DISCOUNT for replacing a part that wasn't needed. Pepboys is the place to go if you have money to throw away because they will charge you for shit you don't need and they don't care. The Hackettstown location doesn't care about giving GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

I was looking to buy tires during the Thanksgiving sale, and several stores sold out of my size. John, the Service Manager at the Hackettstown Pep Boys got more tires from the warehouse within a week, and honored the sale price [which was a terrific price] He and Mike at the front desk were very customer focused, friendly and took care of the transaction and installation efficiently and courteously. Waiting area was comfortable and clean. They were all ready for me when I set up my arrival time. It was a pleasure doing business there, and I will certainly be back for future auto service. read more

****BUYER BEWARE**** on 07/16/2023 I brought my "2009" A5 AUDI in for an oil change. I've used PEP BOYS previously and was satisfied however I came to this establishment requesting an oil change and in doing so they stripped the oil pan forcing my vehicle to leak. The very next day I noticed oil under my vehicle where I park. I brought the vehicle back to the location and they said they installed a new oil plug however since the oil pan was stripped it still continued to leak. The very same day I brought the vehicle back and they explained I needed another oil pan to the tune of 500+ dollars to fix. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG if you screw the oil plug in aren't you responsible for replacing the pan since it was deemed EXTREMELY POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP that resulted in Damaging my engine to the point it ceased. They have disregarded my concerns and my vehicles as well. This left me without a vehicle since it currently sits at the AUDI dealership for 6 months ($27,000) to replace the engine so a $30.00 dollar job has now RUINED my engine . That's 6 months no car to get around and the cost for transportation which rendered near broke. If they're conclusion is to destroy a person they've done a really good job. so I'd inform you to not do business with this company. *****BUYER BEWARE**** read more
