My husband asked the guy at the counter if we could get the tire patched since it was losing air and we didn't want to be stranded. The guy said we don't have any patches....we're out of them. A tire store out of tire patches and not able to repair a tire with a nail in it....There was once upon a time when tire stores wouldn't leave a customer stranded. JUST SAD. read more

We brought our car to this Pep Boys location Monday 5/19/2026. We decided to put 4 new tires on the car. We picked up the car Tuesday afternoon. I drove the car 1 block around the corner and knew something wasn't right. Brought the car back immediately - found out they had "forgotten" to tighten the lug nuts on at least the driver's side rear tire. Thankfully no one was hurt and the car wasn't damaged. Sad but had Pep Boys replace charcoal canister for Evap system because I could put fuel in tank. Asked that they pressurize the fuel neck to blow out of evap lines. After 650 dollars for a 50 dollar canister still could not fill tank at all. Went to Sweat tire and they found that lines were not blown out and 2 lines to canister were not connected and one clip broke. All of the old charcoal beads that Sweat blew out. I went to Pep boys because I had 2 rear tires that continually needed air. One had been plugged and one had not. I was told that the one plugged could not be plugged again. I was told the other had a screw in the sidewall and could not be fixed. They suggested I get two new rear tires. To replace the same tires would cost around $1000.00. I went to Mavis tire store and they told me the plugged one could not be plugged again but the other had nothing in it but was half worn. I decided to replace both with the same tire. The cost was $650.00. About a $400 difference than Pep boys. My advice is get a 2nd opinion especially if you are a women. They will take advantage of you!! read more

March 8, 2025. I had an extremely disappointing and disrespectful experience at this Pep Boys location. I arrived right when they opened, and the manager was initially professional-straightforward, polite, and clear about the process. He told me the alignment would take a little over an hour and asked me to drop my car off at 9 AM, that it would be done within an hour or 2. Which I did without any issues. By 11:30 AM, I still hadn't heard anything, so I went back to check on my vehicle--only to find it sitting in the exact same spot I left it. When I asked for an update, I was told the worker had just got there and didn't even know it was there and that it would be next in line within the hour. I waited patiently. At 1:58 PM, I called again and was told there was a bent part. The manager assured me he would call me back in 20 minutes with more information. An hour passed--still no call.I went back in person and found my car on the rack, untouched, with no one working on it. At 3:38 PM. When I walked inside, the manager greeted me and casually said he was "just finishing on my quote" how ironic. Not even a final price, just an estimate. At this point, they had wasted my entire day with no communication whatsoever. I declined their service and calmly expressed my frustration, mentioning that their lack of updates was unprofessional. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager snapped, saying, "Yeah, tell me how to do my job. You're gonna end up fixing it yourself, let me take it off the rack and get the f* out of my store. " Rather than addressing my concerns, he became defensive, aggressive, and unhinged. He even told me I needed to "learn respect." I responded that, as a prior Marine, I know exactly what respect is--but respect is a two-way street. You don't promise a customer a timeline, leave them waiting all day without updates, and then lash out when they call it out. He then proceeded to throw things out there about what I should do as a Veteran I then responded with yeah in the Marine Corps when we gave people times we assured that deadline was met and if we couldn't we would update whoever if need be. I understand this isn't the Marine Corps but a business supposed to be about professionalism and accountability. This location recently came under new management (As posted outside), but if this is how they operate, I'd advise everyone to steer far away. Highly unprofessional, terrible communication, and zero regard for customers' time. I will never return to this location--or any Pep Boys--again. read more

This "Pep Boys" location is more like the Xanax Boys!!! They have no pep and are extremely slow. They had my vehicle for an entire month and didn't figure anything out except that it was an "electrical issue" . I ended up bringing it to another mechanic and they had it started and fixed within 4 hours!!! This vehicle was a daily driver for me and I told them this multiple times. Called to ask a question and get an appt and she sat the phone down and I listened to four or five customers be serviced and after all that time they hung up on me. The car technicians were courteous and competent. But DO NOT TRUST THE reservations made online or the SPECIALS ADVERTISED ONLINE. Had to reschedule because online overbooked. Conventional oil changes were advertised for $29.99, and synthetic oil changes were advertised for $59.99. I asked for a conventional oil change but didn't know my car required a synthetic oil change. My synthetic oil change cost $102. I won't go back to Pep Boys. read more

We are in Orange Beach and had just come down for the weekend last night. I have a Silverado 1500 truck. Last night, on the final leg of the trip from Fairhope to Orange Beach, the check engine light came on and the fan in front of the engine continued to run, even after engine was shut off. This morning, Saturday morning, we called Pep Boys on Canal Road and they said they could work us in and check the problem. We went there, and they were able to see us a little earlier than expected. CD, Aaron, and Jimmy all took exceptionally great care of us. They found the problem, resolved the problem, and most importantly, did a fantastic job. My hat is off to Pep Boys. They placed the wrong size rotors as well as brake pads were hanging over the rotor. They changed the oil and they ruined the threads. My oil has been dripping ever since total botched job cost $781. I'm sure they will be going out of business sooner than later ... totally unreliable read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Made appt for 11 am Tuesday. Specically told them I will wait work was performed. Its my Service vehicle. Arrived and was told it would take 4 hrs for oil change and tire rotation. Couldn't wait so I rescheduled while there for the first time slot on Thursday at 7:30 am. Called the day before to verify my appointment as the first time slot . Again, only an oil change and tire rotation. Arrive early at 7:15 am and was told They could not do the work. No appointment and they already had two 8am appts sheduled. It was 7:15 am, my appt was 7:30 and I only needed oil change and tire rotation. I was asked to schedule yet another appt. Needless to say, I will not return. Took a tire up to pep boys that had a nail in it picture perfect place in the tread was a textbook pull and patch as the woman said let me add I pulled the tire off the truck marked the hole with paint marker trying to make it an easy fix on them got a call later that afternoon that they ripped my tire on the tire machine let me add the tire was a 2021 all terrain tire with about 50% tread remaining so when they called they said "it was someone else's fault the way they mounted the tire" but it was good earlier that day? Needless to say 213$ later I have a new tire would not recommend this place to anyone ! Admit your mess up and replace it free or at cost of the patch we originally agreed too. Went to Pep Boys on Canal Rd in Orange beach primarily due to a battery that would charge but then 2-3 days later it would fail. Amber was my contact and she suggested a diagnostic check on the whole system after which she said it charged to 12 volts but recommended I purchase a new one. Also she said they had a special on Cooper tires...buy 3 and get the 4th for free. I bought the tires due to the savings involved. Amber also registered me with the credit service with no interest for a period of time depending on amount of your service. Tried to charge me $125 for an oil change. Then when I found out they wanted to rotate my tires too. I had them take that off. I signed up on line for just an oil change. They still wanted $103 then. I can get it done (with Mobil 1) back home for $50. So I left. Don't like people that try to take advantage of people. read more

Called and talked to Eric B. Told him what was needed and he told me bring the car in and it will be done by end of day. Brought car in and got a copy of the charges and went on my way. Got a call back before they closed and was told they were not able to get to my vehicle that day. No problem, things happen and schedules change. Get a call the next day informing me my vehicle was ready for pickup. Brake pads installed all the way around and new belts put on. I supplied the parts. During pickup I was told my total was $200 over the original price. I thought $482 was expensive already, but now they say it's over $600 and was never called and told of any changes. Lady at the front when picking car up was nice, but did not know of the increase and asked if someone had contacted me. Told her no and she said there was nothing she could do. Seems like they charged to replace a belt, put the old belt back on that had to be taken off to get to that belt, and then started over and charged labor again to replace the belt they had already taken off to replace the first belt. I won't go back and will inform family and friends to not go there as well. read more

I had a small nail in my tire. I Went to Pep Boys to have them plug it they said it was too close to the side and because I have a 4 Wheel Dr. car, their policy is to replace all four tires!! My car is only a year old with 8000 miles on it. They saw a customer from out of town as a easy target to rip off. I took my car to Island discount and Joe was so helpful, he not only plugged my tire but only charged me a small fee. read more

This is the only place in the area that my girlfriend will take her car, and for good reason. She recently had a headlight that was replaced and repaired incorrectly twice at a local dealership (Southern Chevrolet) before taking it to Pep Boys. They were able to fix her problem in minutes and did the repair free of charge. She previously had a battery replacement and a wheel bearing replacement done here as well and the services were quick and reasonably priced. The employees are also incredibly friendly and professional. They are even starting to recognize her and joke about her car since we've been in a few times in the last year. I often see her treated by mechanics as if she knows nothing about her own vehicle, simply because she is an attractive woman in her twenties, but not these guys. Many places have also tried to overcharge her for simple repairs or tack on extra unnecessary services, but not Pep Boys. We will never take her car anywhere else as long as we are in the Pensacola/Orange Beach area. read more

Called Monday morning and got a 11am appointment for Wednesday. Brought it in early at 10am on Wednesday and they called at 10:45am wanting to sell me tires. I declined and said I have a place I can buy from back home. Fast forwarded to 3:45pm and I finally had to show up to get my car serviced for a simple oil change like I requested. Please don't respond with an apology, just work on your management and get better for future customers who don't use reviews to decide where they take their business. I had picked up a rental car at Pensacola Airport and noticed the low tire pressure warning was on before leaving the rental company. The attendant at Budget said it was nothing to worry about and the cold snap had caused the sensor to come on. He told me to go ahead and take the car, that the warning would go off after a bit of driving. It did not. By the next day one of the tires was visibly low. My friend and I decided we needed help. We didn't even have an air gage to check the pressure. Thank goodness Jim at Pep Boys helped us. He checked all the tires, added air were needed and charged nothing for his time. Do NOT waste your time. In town for vacation and noticed a low-speed wobble in on of our front tires. Figured we'd have better luck with a corporate store since we weren't from the area. Made an appointment for 8am through the website the night before. When I arrived, the one guy at the counter barely spoke broken English and was wearing nothing indicating he even worked there. The only person wearing anything Pep Boys appeared to be a service manager who I didn't even see until I left, and there was one person wearing jeans and t-shirt cleaning the shop area and apparently testing batteries. After 30 mins of waiting and seeing absolutely zero mechanics working in the garage, I asked for my keys back. The person at the counter says "oh yeah he had an appointment." I said "I can't help but notice you have zero mechanics working out there," to which the service manager says "we've got one guy who should be along here shortly." During this conversation I look down and see a notepad on the counter with a list of tasks to complete "clean out this," "move this," etc., and at the bottom in big print and highlighted I see "make budget." We had a flat tire and needed one because we were going on a long drive for a trip. We asked her if we could get a tire replace because we had to drive on a flat tire to get here. She said no you need an appointment. So i asked her if she knows any place around we can go without appointments because we literally have a flat tire and can't go anywhere and couldn't get the lug nuts off the wheel to put the spare on. She said no and just smacked her gum while starring at us. She didn't help us or offer help knowing we couldn't go anywhere. She even came out to the parking lot and saw us struggling, still no help. Luckily a nice guy came out to help us. Won't be coming here again because of the customer service. We were waiting for 2 hours and this didn't make our morning any easier. There was no need for a rude attitude just because we were waiting at the doors for them to open for a serious problem. I would recommend Mavis Discount Tires. I called them and they check us in as walk ins and told us to come and it'll be less than an hour. It was also $60 cheaper, so the lady at Pep boys did me a favor! read more

Beware of this bunch of crooks!!! I made an appointment online for a high mileage full synthetic oil change they offered fore $54.99 with the coupon. I dropped the car off and went on my way. Calling 3 hours later I told them I might be there after they closed and asked them to charge it top my card and lock the keys in the trunk and I would pick it up after they closed. Luckily I called back and asked for a total, they told me the oil change (that I had selected for $54.99) would be right at $99 with my discount! How in the world did it almost double? They could not explain so I told them skip the oil change and just leave the car in the lot. I picked it up on the way home and went elsewhere for a reasonable oil change. I had previously shopped this location for new shocks and struts - their price was $400 more than where I ended up have the work done. I do not mind paying for convenience but will not support this den of thieves! I emailed corporate asking for an explanation on the oil change and asked someone call me to explain. When I went in to ask for some help, the staff was more than willing to assist and the gentleman ended up adding the oil for me and kept checking the dip stick to make sure he wasn't adding too much.
