Asked for a full brake flush. Drove car back home and just happened to check the brake fluid reservoir after a week. DOT3 brake fluid was dark like Pepsi or Coke. Went back to call them out on the flush. I asked for a refund because I know they just bleed the brakes at the calipers. They refused to refund me $80. Stay away. Chase and Logan were extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. I came in completely stressed out and Chase has such a calming demeanor about him. They diagnosed my issue, which they were unable to fix, but Chase took it upon himself to go above and beyond and call a body shop that he recommended in town. DO NOT seek anything other than a possible oil change or tire rotation from this location, and even that might be over priced and wait time too long. I took my truck in for the check engine light and the truck stalling at idle, they told me they couldn't figure out the problem and that I they thought it could be my timing chain... which was 7 hours and $1,300 worth of labor. I clarified that it was not the guaranteed issue and that they just THOUGHT it could possibly be that, then declined their offer to service it. Fast forward to today I did some YouTube investigating and took a look at my fuse box and found one fuse burnt and 2 missing.. $9.85 later at Oreileys that completely fixed my truck, no check engine light, no codes and no more stalling and it took me 30 seconds to install. If they can't figure out a burnt fuse I wouldn't trust them with a lawn mower let alone your vehicle. Unbelievable. read more

brought my Golf diesel in for a flat tire, and ended up having to replace two of them. they were very quick to get me in and gave me several tire choices to pick from, outlining the different prices and expected lifespan of them all. ended up going with the mid-range pick at their recommendation. had my car fixed and ready to go within three hours (not bad for two tires)! the staff were all very cordial and did their best to get everyone out as fast as possible. i would definitely come back to this Pep Boys in the future for any maintenance i may need! read more

My van recently broke down so I had it towed here. First time using them to fix my vehicle, wanted to try a new mechanic. I'll start with the positive. Their hours cannot be beat. They are open till 7pm M-Sat and even have Sunday hours until 4pm. Since my vehicle broke down Friday night, this was a big reason I chose to take it here, to ensure it would get repaired in a timely manner. Also the work done (fuel pump) seems to be good, it's running great since I drove her off. The staff was also friendly for the most part. Now to the bad, their prices are horrific, easily the worst in town. After they quoted me some ungodly high price after the diagnostic, I hung up and called around some other mechanics in the area. Took me a while but I got one to email me. To the pep boys credit, they did price match this quote and took my total bill down couple hundred dollars. This is a little more work but it's a no brainer when dealing with them. Also as with most mechanics, they tried to tell me that I needed some things that I actually didn't need (like filters, a new battery, etc). I turned down all this of course. I'm guessing they do this dirty trick with grandmom and rip her off everytime. My recommendation is to take it elsewhere. But if you do take it here and get their diagnostic, call around to get other quotes before you go ahead with the repair. read more

Had four new tires balanced and mounted by very competent technician Sam (or Stephanie?). She seemed to really care about doing a good job, and she did. One trait of outstanding customer service is being able to provide an answer to any relevant customer questions. She excelled with her answers and was quite cheerful in the process. This service was made possible by the very effective and caring help of assistant manager Jacob. I did not have an appointment, but he was able to fit me in almost exactly within the waiting period he mentioned. His pricing was very fair and explicit. He too possessed that outstanding customer service trait of being able to answer any question in a very effective and cheerful manner. Jacob showed real customer concern and worked hard to resolve all customer jobs as efficiently as possible. He even jumped in to do one job himself to accommodate a customer. Both these employees were dynamic, quite responsive to customer questions, and possessed a cheerful disposition that pleases customers and helps ensure they return for future service. They both convinced me that this is the place to get some of my future truck work done. I do know a little bit about good customer service since I wrote the Navy Customer Service Manual and related Correspondence Course taken by thousands of military and civil service workers to rave reviews. Simply put, good customer service is the effective and progressive delivery of Access, Attitude, and Ability. These workers excelled in providing all three, especially the Attitude, which is essentially a willingness to help and answer any concern of the customer. And from my limited perspective, manager Mike deserves some credit too for assembling this really good team . read more

A couple months later my car broke down. Apparently pepboys did not screw in some bolts when "fixing" my oil leak which caused my timing belt to deteriorate and completely destroy my engine. BEWARE! I brought my vehicle in to have brake pads replaced and rotors turned. They refused to turn the rotors (they were NOT worn or out of tolerance!) I measured the rotors with my own micrometer! This is third vehicle I have brought in over past two years for brake job and same story! They are gouging customers by selling new rotors vice taking the time to turn existing rotors by falsely claiming 'out of wear tolerance'. read more

I brought my work truck in here to get an oil change, tire rotation, and check if there's a leak in my tire (tires are 5 months old, from PepBoys). I got a quote for $1300 saying I need new shocks and struts and that my tire can't be repaired, so I need a brand new tire. They also said all my tires were cupped and that their life expectancy would be cut in half if I dont do the needed repairs. I went to Precision Auto for a second opinion and although they don't do tires they recommended I go to Vannoys so I could have all of it looked at in one place (SUPER NICE!). Vannoys took me in immediately, looked at my truck, and told me my tire could be patched and that I didn't need any of those things done. With a patch and alignment my bill was $92. Vannoys saved me over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS of work that PepBoys said I needed. PepBoys has to make sale numbers at the end of the day and they push for unnecessary repairs. Save yourself the hassle and don't ride the rollercoaster I was on and just go to Vannoys. Mike and all the guys there will take care of you. read more

Horrible ethics. I went to the Pebboys in Pensacola, Florida off Fairfield Ave in the first week of October 2016 for routine maintenance. Ended up needing a few suspension parts changed out along with the maintenance, that's fine. Afterwards I start hearing a clicking sound when I start the motor, It ended up being the lower radiator hose that was pinched between the transmission coolant lines and the fan. The guy installing the idler arm bracket took the lower radiator hose and moved it out of his way. He took it and tucked it between the transmission coolant lines and the fan to make room to get the part off. I was stranded at work so I needed to fix the lower radiator hose so I could get home. I fix the parts myself so I can make it home, and in the following days I bring the vehicle back to Pepboys to show them what they did. Kyle the manager brought out Dave the man that installed the part to show him. They looked at it and started making excuses and said there was no way he was the one that did that. He took the hose and moved it 3" to tuck it out of the way and they insisted there was no way Dave could have done this. I looked at Kyle and told him that its plausible, he said that anything is possible. Anything is possible except for them to take responsibility over this. Kyle said they did 10 of these installs last week and didn't have a single problem. Well I was 1 out of the 10 that had this problem. He had the nerve to tell me that's pretty good batting averages. I told him yeah for you but not for me! If they would have taken responsibility over this and admit it was there fault, but said they couldn't reimburse the money for the part since I installed it myself and voided their warranty that would be one thing but I'm more irritated that they didn't even say yeah we are sorry, we will try to make it up to you. That's not good business. I will not go back to this store. I will go to a different Pepboys location for now on. Shame on you Kyle and Dave. read more

Brought my truck in for service at this location. I received a call a couple of hours later asking why I had brought the truck in for service. When I told them the front brakes needed to be redone, the reply was "That is what we checked but wanted to make sure because the brakes are in good shape and should not need repair for at least a couple more months!" Now how many shops will actually do that for you! I'm a customer for life! These guys are great! The new Service Manager and his staff are truly helpful and good about working with you. read more

My daughter stopped at a gas station last week to fill her tank - called me very upset saying her gas gauge was still showing empty. Told her to get a receipt for the sale and go directly to the Pep Boys on 9th Ave to get it checked out. Eric called me and prepared me for the worst - potentially a new fuel pump. They checked her tank and discovered that she indeed did NOT have any gas!!! I was so relieved to get that call. I can't say enough about Eric and Tim helping her out. She's had some previous issues with her vehicle and they are always so helpful, and more importantly, respectful of her and me. Thankfully they wrote her a letter to assist with disputing the charge from the gas station, and put some gas in her tank so she could get to a station close by to actually fill up!
