I had called and made an appointment for 10 am a few days before and arrived early at 9:45 am. I just need a brake light and turn signal replaced. My car was finally done at 1 PM. Wow the price is very reasonable, waiting over three hours when I had an an appointment was not. especially since as I sat there waiting for my car to be worked on. I heard one of the gentlemen behind the counter and form another customer. There's no such thing as appointments with them so my question is why was I told I could make an appointment when I called. I also found that upsetting how some customers retreated by the staff. Wow the price is right. The service and timeliness is not. I'm not sure I will return. read more

One time came in because I thought I needed a new alignment. Turns out I didn't and the lady upfront let me know it was my rim causing my problems and wouldn't charge because of it! They also fill up my tires and check for any other problems, free of charge, every-time I get my oil changed. It was deal that got me "buy 3 tires the 4th is free plus no additional charge for installation". I love to save a buck or two. The final cost was $365.76 for Kumho Tires. I was greeted with a hello from Ryan and Shorty the mechanics on duty. Excellent customer service from both of them with a smile. Update: The review was written before the battery replacement took place. The person who rang the service up (who was not the person I talked to first) apologized and so did the mechanic. He also gave me a small discount which was totally unexpected. Changed review to three stars from one star as a result. ***** I normally don't post negative reviews but this location definitely has customer service issues. Had appointment and talked to service manager about needing new car battery. After an hour when I asked about the car, I was told they were finishing up the OIL CHANGE. What!?!?! I asked for a battery. Needless to say I'm concerned that this is an oil change filter replacement kind of place and that no other service can be performed. Mistakes happen but this is too far from believable. There were only three cars In the shop so it wasn't as if they were swamped with people in the waiting area and cars needing work. Wow. Do not come here if you value your time and money. I'm a 20 year old who had my oil changed here back in February. They put over 11 quarts of oil in my truck (3 inches past the top of the dipstick), they put the wrong oil when I requested full synthetic for my ecoboost engine, none of the o-ring gaskets were replaced on my oil filter housing, my one time use flex fit drain plug wasn't replaced which Gary at the front desk had lied to me about, and my pressure control that sits under the oil filter was missing. When the low oil pressure light came on I asked Gary why that is annd he just told me "Drive it around a little bit, it'll go away". After a long heartache the gentleman over at Gierisch Motors on Byron Nelson blvd was able to take excellent care of me. I'm finally getting my truck back next week with a brand new engine. They have two full time master mechanics and are the nicest people you'll ever meet. Gierisch has bent over backwards for me and cut down so many of my costs. All in all don't go to Pep boys even for something quick, they have rookie mechanics, terrible customer service, and a service manager with the emotional intelligence of a 5 year old. read more

I stopped in for a 7:30 am appointment that I had made the day prior. Showed up about 10 mins early to find all the lights out except for the office light on. No problem, I'll wait until 7:30 to see if anyone shows up. Well 7:30 came around and all the lights were still out, no open sign on, and no bay doors open. So I began to leave the parking lot when I seen a guy come out of the office and go back to the coffee machine. I went up and knocked on the window and he waived me to come in. Guess the door had been unlocked the whole time, but the lights were never turned on, or the open sign. After he checked me in he removed a vehicle out of the bay, and pulled my car into that spot. It took him roughly 5-10 minutes at the most to have my car up in the air and brakes inspected. He invited me to the bay to show me possible problem areas, and their recommendations for preventive maintenance. He did inform me that no repairs were required and there was no charge for what he had done. He didn't try and pressure me into buying anything, and he just informed me of services that were available if I would like to do them. I chose to have their Premium Brake Service performed and less than 20-30 minutes from the time that my appointment time was (7:30) I was in and out for $269 and some change. Other than the place looking like they were closed at my appointment time, I felt that my experience here was average, and it was nice to get in, and get out without me getting hustled by someone, or trying to have a bunch of services crammed down my throat I didn't need. They do offer free Wi-Fi while you wait, and your choice of DirecTV to watch as well. Free coffee is in the back if you desire to do so. read more

Made an appointment for an oil change. Have been here over an hour and they are just not pulling my car into the bay. This is absurd. Made an appointment at the other location in north Richland hills. Showed up at 8am and was told that they only had one guy working and it would be a few hours. So this is two times in 1 day. Just stay away. Bought a battery with a 2 year warranty from this place in October 2014. Battery died October of 2016, nine days out of warranty. Called them and their response was to tell me to come on down to see if they could still replace it under warranty giving me the impression that some allowance could be made. Most battery warranties are prorated in years 3 through 5. Jumpstarted my car and drove there only to be told, sorry, two years means two years. Thanks morons. Why couldn't I be told that over the phone? Asked them to jumpstart my car so I could take it somewhere else. In summary: 1.) Crappy warranties on crappy products. 2.) Crappie customer service. 3.) I just made the move to Texas and desperately needed an oil change. Coming from a family where my dad owns an automotive shop back home, I am used to great care for my car, which can be hard to come by. I took a chance on Pep Boys, stopping in this morning with no appointment. Mike was behind the counter, he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and took my car right in. He made great recommendations on the type of oil that works best and what he uses in his car. I was in and out in about an hour, and Mike even gave me a discount. He's been doing this over 40 years and it showed. I am so happy I found a place I can trust to do a good and honest job. The service manager was also very friendly. Service is done in a timely manner, multiple phone calls if questions come up or to discuss the job details before proceeding. Call and email when vehicle is ready too! I will start by saying if they had a zero stars this place would get it hands down! Called for a brake quote, they said about $179 took the car in and left it. They called me 3 hours later and said it would be $3500 so I said no, then they said hang on, changed price to $694. I came and got my car went to J&M automotive in Denton, they fixed it the same day paid $300 out the door and this included an oil change. Don't go to these crooks! read more

Made an appointment to have one of my tires changed. I decided to wait as I didn't think it would take long since it was only one tire and I had made the appointment. Needless to say it took them 2 hours to change one tire. They didn't even pull my car in until 40 minutes after my appointment. That is completely ridiculous and disrespectful to a customer. My girlfriend and i stopped here to get work done about a week ago. We saw the reviews but i have always had good service with other pep boys. Not only was this one better than the one i go to normally in fort worth but the people were on point. I had great service from the technician, he explained everything thoroughly and i enjoyed that they didn't try the old mechanic trick of adding extra things wrong on the car to get my girl to buy more services, even if we didn't need them. The service guy at the front was awesome. He even suggested a place for us to get lunch while they worked on my mini. I just wanted to put a thank you out there to Juan and Derrek. I took my car in on a Saturday and got it back on Monday. It was supposed to be done on Saturday. They failed to call me with any update on my car. When I called customer service for assistance, their regional directors were some of the rudest people I've ever encountered. The regional director even hung up on me mid phone call. They wouldn't discount me anything nor did they even apologize for keeping my car longer than they should have. They also didn't even do everything they charged me for. I would not recommend this place at all. They refuse to help you out at any way possible, will over charge you, and don't install the parts correctly (when they actually perform the services they say they will). Worst experience of my life. Don't waste your time or your money. If you do get a service done, get it checked because chances are it wasn't done or it wasn't done correctly. read more

The next day they call me and say it will be around $990 in work because of blah blah blah reasons. I said thanks but no thanks and picked up my car. I went to Pep Boys in Bedford and the gentlemen looked over my car and said nothing needed to be done and there was no charge to just look over the car. Quite possibly the best customer service I have received from an auto shop. The assistant manager rose to the occasion on a problem on my car. Even though it was a mistake that was made, they really went above and beyond to make it better, and that is impossible to find. There's a large chain auto shop across the road, and they'll never get my business over Pep Boys now. The assistant manager may be the best thing that happened to your shop! Yesterday I scheduled an appointment for an oil change via the Pep Boys website for today, Saturday 8/12/17 at noon. I entered all of my vehicle information (make, model, year, and chose excessive mileage) and selected a partial synthetic oil change - I was given a confirmation for this selection when I submitted my appointment. When I arrived at 12:03pm (yes, I was late), I gave the gentleman at the counter my information and appointment info. The first thing he said to me was, "Well, we're running pretty behind today..." He looks up my information and finds my appointment and vehicle information I submitted yesterday. He then tells me, "Looks like it's going to be $100 for full synthetic." I clarified and said I only needed partial synthetic and selected that when I made the appointment online yesterday. He then swiveled his computer monitor around to show me that the only choices he could enter for my 2012 vehicle were both full synthetic - but I could go with the $92 option or the $100 option. He said newer cars require full synthetic. I asked him what he meant by "newer" and he replied, "Oh, like...2012 or 2013." I said no thanks, it doesn't need full synthetic and left. So I'm not sure if this is an overall Pep Boys issue - I scheduled the partial synthetic on THEIR website after submitting all of my vehicle information. They knew it was 2012 and allowed me to select partial synthetic. But I think it was more of a we-don't-have-time-for-you-and-I'm-going-to-make-you-want-to-leave issue, which is fine with me. I would hate to over-burden their day with my SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. Lol...what a joke. I won't be going back to this location or any other Pep Boys. read more

These guys were crooks. At the end of March, I went for a 99$ special as my rear break pads is wearing out and my car steering wheel will pulse when hitting breaks. They tried to sell me new rear rotors plus caliper (500$+). When I declined, they simply only changed rear pads. On the receipt, they said they changed all pads and they machined the frontal pads, and noted on the work order saying that they machined the front rotor but rear rotor is out of specification for machining. As a result, the pulsation did not change after the service. Few days later, the Honda dealer recommends both front and rear rotored been machined to fix the pulsation. I went to another Justbrake near where I live. This new place is much better. They checked my brakes said the rotors are within specification. They put in a new set of front pads, redid my rotors (front and rear) for free and apologized for what the other location (#152) did. Now the pulse is gone and I am happy. read more

Very happy with my experience here today. I had a minor brake clip issue on my Toyota Tundra pointed out to me when I had my inspection done at another shop that didn't handle brakes. Took it to Just Brakes in Roanoke and they were quick, courteous, and helpful. It was refreshing that they didn't try to gouge me for a serious brake repair. Knowing that this was a minor issue and they treated it as such made me happy to write a good review. I would highly recommend getting service done here and it is refreshing to know they are in the area for future needs. read more

My experience with Pep Boys was awful from the beginning. Customer service isn't lacking at this location, it's nonexistent. A simple radiator replacement turned into a 6+ hour and $600+ dollar ordeal. After waiting all that time, I was told that the car probably wouldn't be safe to drive and was given a nearly $2,000 quote for more "essential" repairs. I called not 1, not 2, but 6 mechanics and every single one of them said that the repair quote was not only ridiculously over priced, but it was also completely unnecessary! They don't diagnose issues, they throw parts at them hoping you'll be naive enough to cough up thousands for unneeded repairs. I ended up having a family member who has extensive experience with cars give them a call. They changed their tune as soon as they realized they couldn't pull the wool over his eyes. Within 2 hours I received a call saying that they had fixed the issues and that the other "necessary" repairs were in fact unnecessary. Either they are awful mechanics or they are just trying to rip off customers. Either way, I wouldn't trust them. If you're in the Roanoke area and need work done, I'd highly recommend looking anywhere but here. Your bank account and your car will thank you. read more

This place does not even deserve a 1 star rating!! DO NOT GO HERE!! I went for a simple oil change on a Sunday afternoon, and they said it would take two hours. I came back ONE hour later and the shop was completely closed (2 hours before they were supposed to) with my car locked inside along with my apartment keys. They did not even call me to say they were closing early or anything! We tried calling multiple times, call customer support (they said they couldn't help and to write a complaint), and finally I called the police. The police waited with me for 2 hours until they FINALLY got a hold of the district manager... he came and unlocked the shop... I went to get my car and NO OIL CHANGE! By this point everywhere else is closed. The manager and another guy gave me an oil change to try and reconcile what happened... but I will NEVER GO BACK. Seriously very unprofessional, and to not be able to get ahold of a manager or anyone for 4 hours... complete waste of my day and time. Pep boys is a horrible business and I am telling everyone I know to never go. read more
