Went to Pep-boys for a alternator replacement that was $443. They left exposed wires for the alternator not even covering them. When I took my car to my normal mechanic for a manifold replacement I saw a wire dangling and my radiator was unplugged. Nobody has been in the engine bay since the car left Pep-boys. They denied doing anything when since I've had the car nobody has touched that radiator cable. It can't come un-done on its own since its held in by a clip that needs to be pressed to un-clip. They denied doing anything. This type of service for $443 for a very important component is not worth it one bit, especially leaving exposed wires next to a alternator. I'm personally never going back to pep-boys for auto repairs. read more

VERY pricey. They charge for the theoretical time it takes to complete a job and not the actual time it takes. I was charged for 4 hours of time when it took them less than 3 hours to complete. $600 in time alone, but should have been $450. I am very disappointed and will not be returning. read more

They have clean bathrooms, a television with cable (you can change the channel), plenty of seating, charging stations and Wi-Fi. My husband got his tires here. The boys & Pep Boys are ultimately amazing. Took my car to them a few times for an unknown issue. One of my lights was starting lit despite the being nothing wing. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. No problem. My car is running the way it's supposed to. Finally took it back a 3rd time after a few months. I'm starting to get nervous at this point. BINGO! They have a certified Volkswagen mechanic that worked on my 2012 Jetta when a part of my ignition went out. They had to order the piece specially made from VW. The first thing they said was that they had to call Germany for the part when in reality, they called Mexico for the piece. They gave me a 10 day wait estimate and were great there. They did not bother to update me on the car, nor did they tell me when the piece came in. They installed the piece and were nice enough to pop in another small piece that I had bought to replace the passenger AC vent after my dog broke it. No extra charge. However, the people running the front end are rude and extremely snappy and that completely killed it for me. They left greasy hand prints in my car that I had just gad detailed and didn't put anything to cover the driver mat and left dirt everywhere.. I have had oil changes done there before and they have a fantastic waiting area that is clean and they also offer free coffee. read more

For years now this place has on a regular basis come up with emergency repairs that is needed for your vehicle, despite you going in for simple repairs or maintenance. They are pushy and won't do the minor maintenance with adding repairs and parts that you didn't go in for in the first place. I have heard to many people say don't go there, guess I have been too trusting. Also, they are good at breaking other parts in the process, in which you will have to wait hours on end for that part to arrive. Time to find another repair shop. Pep boys needs to get back to basics to repair their reputation and improve customer service. Don't recommend going there and if you do, don't say you were not given heads up! read more

Think about it people and look at your last Pep Boys receipt. Who gives you a FULL PAGE of things that they are NOT liable for...only AFTER you've paid your bill? I had to have my pick up towed so I called AAA and they sent a towing company (separate review on C&L towing). Well after the towing company refused to honor my highly rated aftermarket warranty, I had to find someplace to get the work done and I had to have it towed again. This time I called 800 PEPBOYS to find out if they honor my warranty. Not only do they honor it, they have a fleet agreement with the warranty company. I was also told that PEPBOYS would arrange a tow for me and they would pick up the first $50 and add the rest to my bill. Awesome. The tow shows up and takes my pickup to Pep Boys shop. My truck need a starter which I pretty much had figured out after checking out everything else. Had no idea how long it would take to get the part and replace it. Mike and Jeremy? were awesome. Both very caring and friendly as were the guys in the shop. I noticed that when the tow truck got there to drop off the truck. Well, not only did they not take long to replace the starter, they called me about 90 minutes later to say my truck was done. I had a rented a vehicle that morning for 2 days because of the issue with the original towing shop. Got my truck back quick and saved me from paying 2 days on my rental. I showed up first thing at 7am and it was busy at first but when I was waited on David appeared to be a bit flustered since it was right when they opened and there were already people waiting in line. He told me it would be at least until 9am before it was completed. I requested two tires and the price was lower than I expected. I returned around 8:30am and my car was finished and still elevated and he told me that even though my other two tires had tread left, they were eight years old and it might be a good idea to replace them all at the same time. Not necessary, but a good idea, not a hard sell, just a suggestion. He gave me a good discounted price for the other two and said it would be about another 30 minutes, which was around the same time he said it would take initially. I returned just before 9am and only had to wait 5 minutes for them to finish up. I would go back to them and am very pleased with their service, price, and quality. read more
