Beautiful terrace seating and great food! The atmosphere is perfect for some casual drinks with friends or a long cozy dinner. I absolutely loved the asparagus with stracciatella and gazpacho. And the beef ribs was also incredible. The tiramisu for dessert is a must! Naturally, this all pairs well with a bit of cava or an aperol spritz. Great evening!

I have to confess that I was very hesitant in trying this place after seeing the pictures on Yelp. The dishes on the pics look ugly and kind of gross (sorry!). But I decided to give it a chance and ended up coming twice. Had their ham and cheese sandwich which was tasty and tried their pork and mushroom rice. The rice was delicious! Other than that, service was good. Not great comparing with what I am used to, but not bad comparing with lots of places around Barcelona.

Catalan food in Gracia neighborhood, mostly for tourists as it is kind of pricey when you order tapas only. I loved the octopus tapa with potato base and paprika and olive oil. Very delicate and tasty. Loved the original green bunuelos (I think they were made of spinach and cod and a touch of honey). Very delicious. The alioli came in super cute container and everything we had was well cooked and tasted great. Service was ok, not super friendly but they told my niece and I that the kitchen will be close soon (so it was up to us to stay or leave). I like the name of the place, sounds funny and the interior has a cute design

Very good sangria and service. Very quick and friendly. The choices are various and original. I highly recommend the calamari de terrorre with black onions and bacon, as well as the dessert "peps tomate". Prices are quite high but the quality is there

Restaurant of typical food from Barcelona, in local neighborhood (also some great bars here), you must know its there to go there, but now that you read this review you must go. Very typical and delicious food (must try Bulleños), service was a bit slow and we waited 20 min to sit in the terrace but the food was totally worth it (best patatas bravas I've tried).

I bookmarked this place after passing the restaurant one night. The place was full, the people seemed happy and the atmosphere seemed great. A safe choice it seemed. We went there to lunch the other day and i think its fair to say that the atmosphere was not the same. The frezing restaurant was not especially cozy during daytime and it was totally empty. The waiters was a bit all over the place, and was not so sure what we ordered even if we were the first to order. The place filled a bit as we tried to decide for a dish, but the menu was pretty unclear with the cosept. Some dishes was pricey while some where not, it didnt really make any sence to us what was dinner and what was lunch or if it was a tapa. We ordered what we thought to be lunch dishes (him the tacos, me the wok). As it turned out the place offers tapas plates, or sharing plates if you want. We shared what we had on the table (wok was ok, tacos not so much) and went for a thrid dish; the bunyols of spinachi. Luckely this one was so tasty that it made up for the whole experience. A real treat! If i ever come back (which im sure i will not) i would go for the safe catalan doshes. Bread with tomato, the spinachi buyols, the omelet and the tomato mozzerella. But be aware; this place is a bit pricy

We stop here on a Food Tour and then went back later in the week on our own. Very casual but we enjoyed it.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!

Taverna El Glop wraps you up in its warm, lively atmosphere the second you walk in. We were a group of four, and from start to finish, we had an awesome time. The open kitchen is a great touch -- you can watch the chef in action, which adds to the energy and makes the whole experience feel more connected and authentic. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was on point. The paella was rich and delicious -- exactly what we came for. The patatas bravas were crispy, creamy, and gone in seconds, and the shishito peppers were the perfect salty, snacky starter. Of course, we had to get a pitcher of sangria (okay, maybe two), which was fruity, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep things festive. The space itself has this great, rustic charm -- complete with checkered tablecloths and even an old cigarette machine near the bar (haven't seen one of those since I was a kid -- aren't those banned in the U.S. now?). I don't smoke -- smoking sucks -- but it added a bit of unexpected nostalgia and character. Service was excellent. I always make a point to be friendly, ask people their names, and introduce myself -- and that's usually met with warmth. It definitely was here. The staff were quick, kind, and seemed to enjoy the place as much as we did. Personally, I loved it. It's the kind of place you remember -- not because it's fancy or trendy, but because it's fun, flavorful, and full of heart. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

For food quality, service, and ambience i will rate this experience with 4.8.

We grabbed the only table open when we arrived at 1 on a Monday afternoon. We saw a Cava Sangria (a first) and had to try-light and delicious! They also had Majou Beer (from Malaga) on draft which is hard to find outside of Malaga so had to have one. We ordered a couple of starters and a couple of what I'd say were bigger plates. The pork belly marinated in lime was tasty but the fresh Mackerel stole the show! The Truffled eggs with foie and mushrooms was finished table-side and was amazing. We missed that the Cuttlefish had squid ink-no matter, so light and exquisite-only complaint would be to have more cuttlefish. Service was engaged and friendly from start to finish. Tapeo reminds me of some of the regional restaurants where you want to try the entire menu at once cause it all looks so good. Tapeo is now on the list of "must stops" when in Barcelona!

Somewhere in the middle is a 1-2 year period where parts of Spain's community was shut down because of COVID or restricted in one way or the other. We were in Spain during May-June of this year and witnessed various businesses that were no more or maybe still hanging on my a thread. Our recent experience at La Yaya Amelia seemed to suggest the latter. La Yaya Amelia was recommended by our Hotel (1882) and was an easy couple block walk. We made a reservation, but as it turned out we were the only customers during our time there. This seems more like a locals place and it's corner neighborhood location would be hard to attract tourists, unless it were some hot foodie destination. On a side note, the owner's cute little dog charmed my wife, the shelter volunteer. At the beginning, the dog was wandering around and Gayle wasn't sure if he/she had a person. I looked up and told her that we can't the dog back with us to the USA. Her answer (and this wasn't her first dog siting in Spain) was that she'd already done the research and she agreed that it would be almost impossible to do so. But she still stayed on the case until she confirmed that it was indeed the owner's dog. La Yaya Amelia may not be the Catalan version of the French Laundry, but it was a damn fine place to eat. We both ordered off the "specials" list, me choosing steak and Gayle opting for fish. Add wine, bread, homemade dessert, and expresso, we left full and happy. Our service was great, yet the guy running the place seemed a little worn out and sad, as we were the business so far in the evening. So, if anyone is reading this review right now and you're thinking of Lunch or Dinner in the Sagrada Familia area, what are you waiting for?
