Found this spot when I was in the area running some errands. They are located in a plaza with other stores and share a decent-size parking lot. Got the Street Taco (you can pick your protein) and Chicken Flautas. Both are great. The street taco, I got Al Pastor and Chicken, and they were both flavorful. The rice and beans are the perfect side for this plate. The Flautas were crispy and flavorful as well. The salsa pairs very well with the dish. The restaurant is a decent size. It has this L-size design inside, so there are more tables in the back portion of the restaurant, and they also have a patio outside. Service is okay. They can't get busy, and things can take some time. read more

We were running late for a show and didn't want to settle for fast food. A neighbor had told us about this place some time ago, but we had never made it there until now. We sat at the bar and mentioned that we were in a bit of a hurry, and the staff was very accommodating. It seems like a family-run business, and they appear to have a strong takeout service. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant. There's a small patio with tables, bar seating, and regular dining tables. The food was fresh, and the prices were reasonable for the area. Since this place is close to our home, I would love to return and try it again when I'm not rushed. read more

Stopped by this cafe and bar on a weekday after seeing the great reviews, and it really lived up to the hype. The place has a very pleasant atmosphere, with a clean and stylish interior. Tables were spotless, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. I was really looking forward to ordering the ceviche, but unfortunately they told me it wasn't available that day. That was a bit disappointing. The food was fresh and flavorful, with generous portions that left us full and happy. We also tried a couple of their cocktails - interesting flavors and well-balanced. Prices are a bit above average, but honestly, it felt worth it given the overall experience. I am always looking for local. Austin has so many choices! Today I dropped on Pepita's Cafe & Bar. It is such a warm ambiance in a small space created to feel spacious. One hostess greets everyone with a very warm smile and directions to choose your seat. I ordered the Burrito Undone and a cup of Pozole Verde soup, a savory Solano & tomato Lloyd broth, hominy chicken, cilantro, onions & cabbage, topped with a drizzle of sour cream. TODAY, they created a pork version, which I promptly wanted to try. I listed the ingredients because just reading them in this semi cool weather made my mouth water! The service is a major issue because on a busy dinner night they have just one server tending to over 25 people. The kitchen is manned by two people. We were a couple and our food didn't come together but 10 minutes apart. The margaritas were good and the food was ok. The place has zero character with no decoration or atmosphere or ambiance. Happened to be in the area and was drawn in by the charming outdoor décor--and I'm glad I stopped. The inside is just as nicely decorated, giving the place a warm and inviting vibe. Pepita's serves coffee, cocktails, and a good range of food, with several menu items that looked intriguing (I do wish they had photos to help with choosing). I tried a couple of dishes and none of them disappointed. Service was friendly and attentive--Hugo took great care of us. Parking is easy since it's located in a large plaza, and the restaurant itself is medium-sized with plenty of tables of all sizes. Overall, a great spot. I'll definitely be back. read more

It's very cute in here. I like the relaxed vibes. In terms of the food, it didn't blow me away. My street tacos were really good but the rice and beans were not that good. I got a mango margarita on the rocks and it was ok. The service was great and my waiter was very attentive. There is ample parking. read more

We were in the area and decided to try something new and of course local! We stumbled upon this cafe which has a large offering of vegatarian options. Upon entering we noticed the cute patio area out front which was lined with different types of cati. We were told we could select our table. Since it was good weather early on we selected a table outdoors. There was 4/5 , 2 person tables and 2 other picnic tables to choose from. The inside is kind of small with more of larger tables to accommodate larger parties. Our waitress came over promptly with water in hand. We pace our order before the crowd came. The order took about 15/20 minutes to be served. However our waitress didn't deliver our food, or check back on us after it was dropped off and we had to go find her to request our check. We ordered the following: Avocado toast- 4/5- the Dijon vinaigrette, arugula , and pickled onions were what set it apart from others. We ordered the egg over medium however it seemed to be over easy when it arrived. We would definitely order again. Portebella hash- 4/5 served with red potatoes, slightly undercooked in my opinion however others may like the harder texture that red potatoes tend to offer. The Flavor over all was great , could have had 2 Eggs vs the 1 it came with . Vanilla latte -3/5 - not very flavorful and the espresso itself was very biter- I wouldn't personally order this again. They have a full bar with lots of offerings , great brunch and happy hour specials as well. If I'm the area again we would pay them another visit. read more

I am not vegan and grabbed the churros, chicken flautas, & tip nachos (I was starving and over ordered haha). BF grabbed some custom tacos & vegan chilaquiles omitting anything non vegan. Pepitas Cafe was a wonderful find! The service was very friendly and prompt from the moment we walked in. The pozole verde was absolutely delicious full of flavor, rich, and definitely not bland. The migas were fantastic as well, perfectly prepared and so satisfying. We're visiting from the Pacific Northwest to get away from the rain and are always on the lookout for great Mexican food. If you're anywhere near Bee Caves, this is the place to try. We'll definitely be back on our next visit! read more

Their street tacos are legit, super fresh and packed with flavor. Service is incredible Love Jackie and Hugo. The craft cocktails are creative and delicious, and I'm always tempted by their aguas frescas they're perfectly refreshing and not too sweet. Stumbled upon their Yelp page and their menu looked good so we placed a pick up order. Everything was prepared nicely. Great servings. Oddly enough, the kids chicken tenders were really good! Mexican Cesar (added chicken) had great flavor. They accidentally threw in some shrimp tacos (we didn't notice until we got home) and those were great too! Big portions of shrimp. I've been here several times and have always found the service and food to be good. Not outstanding, but good enough to return. Sadly, tonight was a complete miss on both fronts. The service was poor, at best, and the food was cold. When we were asked how the meal was, I was truthful and said it took an hour to get the food, and one of the meals was literally refrigerator cold. I was given a lot of excuses and was made to feel like I the situation was my fault for ordering a meal that required cleaning the grill first, and therefore it took, much longer. To me, if a meal requires the better part of an hour to deliver due to prep time and then arrives ice cold, then take it off the menu. The server was so preoccupied with other tables that we literally had to ask another server to do his co-worker's job. The owner had ZERO interest in the issues other than to put the blame on the customer. Unfortunately, after being here at least a dozen times, I feel there are many other places that would be happy to have my business and I will take my business elsewhere in the future. read more

Stopped in for breakfast today and received a warm welcome; the place is nicely decorated for Día de los Muertos. The coffee was nice and strong while I waited for my avocado toast.
