Place is much bigger than it looked. Pretty big menu. I ordered a turkey sandwich. Pretty simple with bacon, lettuce and tomato. Bread was soft and fresh. Really big sandwich. Only ate half. The guy asked what side I'd like and said they had good soup. I wrongfully assumed that was an included option. Nope. Noticed after that it was a $2 charge. That would've been nice to know. I would've skipped it. I should've gotten it toasted too. I do wish the bacon were crispy and warm. It was soggy and cold. See photo. Overall pretty good. I decided to stop on in for lunch as it has been several months since I last visited this place. Peppercini's Deli is located in the University Center Mall next to the UAA Campus and Sadler's Home Furnishings. The place was not crowded when I came by around 1:30PM and a friendly cashier at the front took my order right away. The seating is spaciously laid out which is a smart arrangement for the lunch rush on the weekdays. Free Wi-Fi is provided here which makes this an ideal place for students from the nearby campus to grab lunch and study for a little bit. I decided to go with one of their Deli House Favorite sandwiches called the Sorry Charlie (tuna salad, choice of melted Swiss, cheddar, pepperjack, or provolone, mayo, fresh sprouts, and sliced tomatoes served open-faced on a toasted bagel with a side of potato salad). My order only took a few minutes to arrive to my table. The sandwich was delicious with the bagel being perfectly crisp along with flavorful home-made tuna salad topped with a generous amount of melted sharp cheddar. I also tried their specialty Iced Herbal Lemon Tea available at the drink dispensers. It was refreshingly smooth with not too much sugar and a healthier option for lunch rather than soda. In addition to the sandwiches, they also sell large baked potatoes, wraps, salads, pastas, and soups. Some of the items recommended are the Girdwoodian Po' Boy (grilled chicken, pesto, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, black olives, and a blend of Italian cheeses), Smoked Salmon Alfredo (Alaskan smoked salmon, penne pasta, Alfredo sauce, diced tomatoes, chives, and Italian cheese), the Almond Ginger Chicken Salad (roasted red peppers, toasted almond slivers, marinated chicken, wasabi-crusted peas, celery, chow-mein noodles and sesame ginger dressing), and the Signature Baked Potato (topped with a creamy artichoke dip, parmesan cheese, and parsley). Convenient hours for lunch from 10:30AM to 3PM Mon.-Sat. A pick two menu called the Dusty Specials are also affordable at only $8.49 with choice of any 1/2 Deli Classic Sandwich, baked potato, salad, or soup. Online ordering is available through their website if you want your food ready without having to wait in line. I was so excited to finally get over to Peppercini's to try their Rueben sandwich. I'm from the Philly/NY area, so I have been the missing tasty tangy deliciousness of corned beef and sauerkraut. Peppercini's was moderately busy, but service was speedy. I placed my order and about 5 minutes later my lunch arrived. When I paid, I thought it was a bit pricey, but when I saw the size of the sandwich, I understood the price. The sandwich itself was magnificient looking. Giant, gorgeous slabs of marble rye and copious amounts of tender corned beef. And then I took a bite and I kinda went "eh.... something isn't right.... hmmm I don't think I should swallow." The sauerkraut was off. I took it right up to counter and asked them to check their sauerkraut to make sure it wasn't rancid. They guy tasted it, didn't gag, and convinced me it was okay. I'm a big fan of sauerkraut and I'm here to tell you, THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE SAUEKRAUT buddy! So, I sadly peeled the sauerkraut off my sandwich and ate what was good on the rueben. Kinda pissed me off, but it was such a nice looking sandwich.... I think it was just a fluke, so I'll go back a try something else in the future. I think it was just bad luck and bad customer service. They've got a lot of tasty looking sandwiches that I'm sure are worth trying. In the mean time, 2 stars til you can woo me back. read more

This is a two-fold review: 1.) catering is the bomb and excellent! 2.) the deli, not so much - sandwiches seem like an afterthought with flaccid lettuce and onions, tomato end pieces, and 5-6 sprouts thrown in for good measure. I ordered my lunch for pick up around 1 pm on a Wednesday. Went in, picked it up and left all within five minutes. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap on wheat with blu cheese and a side of broccoli cheddar soup all for 10.98. I opened it up and it did look good. I was quite disappointed though with my lunch. My buffalo chicken wrap should just be named "celery with a two or three chunks of tasteless chicken". I imagine if you absolutely LOVED celery you would probably enjoy it to a degree. Other than that I would steer clear of this item. On the other hand the soup was good, not the best I've ever had but I'd get it again. I will try it again and maybe just get a sandwich the next time and see how it is. The price is average and the portions weren't huge but will fill the average person up. read more

The owners are very friendly, and their staff are as well. I have been coming here since they first opened. I have ordered many office lunches, and never had a problem. Their deliveries are always on time, and the food is always excellent. I've never had an error on my order. They have a very large menu, and there are choices for everyone. Of course the deli sandwiches and po-boys and subs, baked potatoes, salads, french bread pizzas, pastas, and even a kids menu. There are cookies and brownies for dessert. The place is always clean, and the staff are always clearing off and wiping up tables, even in the middle of the lunch rush. 1000 times better than Subway, and it supports local business. I eat here way too often. But, what can I say? I'm a sandwich lover. Everyone is super nice, the food is pretty good, and prices are pretty good for basically everything, and it's uber convenient to get to. The hours are lame, but they work fine for me for lunch and early afternoon snack. They run weekly specials on random items which are priced lower (awesomely) and have always been great from my experience so far. I particularly love their Po'Boys and all their spicy / horseradishy items. For a sandwich place, they're a solid... Good. Not crazytown amazing, but definitely good. I'm mostly giving them 5 stars because of their consistently friendly service and because one time I left my tablet on a table and they rescued it for me and gave it to me the next day like heroes of justice and good will. I had their weekly special, which happened to be the Meatzza. The sandwich came out toasty and fully loaded with several kinds of meat, along with cheese and marinara sauce. It genuinely tasted a lot like its namesake. I'm not a gigantic man, but I'm grown and I made two meals out of it. My side was the chicken pasta salad, which was a about a cup's worth and tasted reasonably ok (read: unremarkable). At the weekly special price, the sandwich was a great deal. The deli sandwiches are huge and very good. I finally tried one - got the Rueben and it had a ton of juicy corned beef on it. The bread slices were gigantic - who knows where they got it from but it was fairly good rye bread. The place was packed at noon and I saw lots of salads, pasta and breadsticks, too. Here is a great place to get a bite, even with kids. They have an awesome Ruben, with marbled rye..it is a tall sandwich and practically a whole meal. The seem to picked up on that awesome tropical iced tea that Quizno's used to serve. The only dilema is picking what to have, which side and the prices are ecent. I ordered the AK Club sandwich on WHITE bread. It came out on wheat. The bacon was sub par and cold. Ordered a breadstick as the side, also cold. Today I ate a bowl of bread filled with creamy broccoli soup and cheese for lunch. It was okay. I had originally wanted a baked potato...but, I got a bread bowl instead. I love bread...but, only when it is fresh and warm and covered in artery clogging butter... but, stale, cripsy bread that flakes so much you wonder if it has dandruff is another story. I am not a fan of this type of bread. The soup was alright...tasted like basically the broccoli cheddar soup from Subway-it hits the spot but it's something you would really ever recommend. All in all, I was dissapointed with my visit to Peppercini's...and I walked away wondering what all the hype was about. I have to say, however, the attractive people in tie dye shirts taking my order and brining me my food did make things better...but not enough so that I would really consider going back. read more

I eat here all the time for lunch and we often bring food into the office if we're working on a project or working through lunch. I've had most of the sandwiches on the menu (The Restivo is excellent) and several of the soups. The servings are decent sized and this is by far my favorite sandwich shop in Anchorage. The service has always been really good and everyone is very friendly and the restaurant is clean and well-organized. My only complaint would be they are a bit expensive for a sandwich and chips (usually $8-9). By the time you get a drink it's over $10 for lunch. But if whatever they are serving on the weekly special is appealing to you, it's a good bargain at $6.99. Bear in mind, these are 'normal' sized sandwiches -- not foot longs or grinders. Be forewarned, the BBQ chips are very good but a bit spicy. Price keeps me from giving them a 5 star, but if I could, I'd rate them a 4.5. read more

Peppercini's was absolutely the best. You wouldn't really think to have a deli catering business do your catering for your wedding, but let me tell you know the menu is completely different for the food that they offer. For our wedding we had about 135 people that were planning on coming to our wedding. We got married July 21st and booked Peppercini's December 2017. There are lots of menus to choose from. We decided on Seafood Jambalaya and Chicken Alfredo for the main dishes. For the sides we had rice, mixed seasonal veggies, buns, and Asian ginger salad. We had a cocktail hour where hors devours were served, for those we had artichoke dip and bread, and sausages and cheeses and crackers, we also had fresh fruit out. We used their bar service and loved it. We had an open bar with wine and beer. A couple of days before the wedding we dropped all of the wine of at their restaurant to have them bring it to the wedding the day of. They kept all the room temperature wine stored room temperature and the cold wines in their cooler. They picked up our two kegs from the brown jug warehouse to bring to the menu for us. They have these really cool keg coolers too. We had two non-alcoholic drinks for the kiddos. We had strawberry lemonade and teal punch. We were able to rent tablecloths for a fraction of the price with them compared to party world. I believe they were at least half the place if not less than what party world was trying to charge us. The whole time we were working with Jason. He let us pick out the type of disposable dishes, silverware, and cups. I never knew there were so many options. He let us pick out specific colors of napkins for the bar drinks and the tables. Jason and his staff are the best. We paid for the cleaning fee, for some of the employees to stay later and pack everything up and clean the venue. It was nice having that piece of mind knowing that things were getting cleaned. We also had them cut our cake for us. The food was delicious! We had SOOOO MUCH LEFT OVERS, we were passing the food out to our guests. We would not have enough room in our fridge for all of the food. We also had them bar-tend for the bar as well, which was awesome. The staff was very nice. It was nice having so many people working all of the food and drinks and cleaning up. Jason is the owner, we were working with him the entire time. He also let us sample all of the food that we decided on, throughout the process. All in all don't overlook them because it says DELI, they're amazing. And their prices are super affordable compared to a lot of other caterers. read more

I like it, but I could make something just as good or better at home. It's a decent spot to eat if I'm at the mall for a class, but I wouldn't just head there from home. It's also kind of pricey. I attended an awards banquet catered by Peppercini's Deli House. I was expecting their usual outstanding sandwiches, but was surprised they served up dishes that resembled a home-cooked meal: golden chicken pot pie, cheese encrusted buttery broccoli and tender, mouth-watering beef with roasted red peppers and tomatoes. Recently I stopped by for lunch. the turkey ranch wrap was calling my name. As I stood in line I noticed their daily special was Grilled Cheese and soup! Tomato bleu cheese soup was an options. How could I go wrong??? The staff was very nice and friendly. I ordered took my table number, filled my fountain drink and found an empty table. I waited less than 10 mins for my food to arrive. I noticed right away the grilled cheese looked more like dry toast and the soup looked really thin. Starving I bit into the grilled cheese, which was even drier than it looked and the cheese was rubbery and didn't have a taste. Reminded me of the kind that comes individually wrapped. The bread has been cooked with zero butter and was like they had toasted two pieces of bread, unwrapped two slices of cheese and stuck it in the microwave. I choke down a couple more bites, before just ditching the idea of a warm gooey comfort food grilled cheese. I wasn't going to find it here. I couldn't finish it. I moved on to the soup. I needed something to fill me up after spending $8+ and my lunch hour. It had potential but was so thin like they had added too much water to it. The orzo in it was a nice touch but the flavoring was missing here too. When I spoke with the manager asking about how they make their grilled cheese he replied the had someone new working that station and he would go check to see how they were making them. I mentioned the soup which he said they get from a local place down the street. I told him how thin it was and he said he would go look at it but it might just be a palette issue. He apologized but never once offered any suggestions on how to remedy my problem. Make another sandwich. Try a different soup. Or ask to give them another chance. Too bad their loss. My work place hosts lunches 2-3 times a month & is always looking for a new place. I won't be recommending them or going back. I would rather go spend my money somewhere else! read more
