Georgie Dog with a cup of Chili!
    Vic E.

I came across their food truck by chance as I was on the way home after picking up groceries. They were parked outside of the Burlington Coat Factory on W. Dimond Blvd. I never would've seen them driving by if it wasn't for their flashing blue and red lights. From a distance, I thought there had been an accident. As I got closer, thankfully there was none and I saw the food truck come into view once I approached Fred Meyers. I did not feel like making anything at home for dinner and so I jumped at the chance once I pulled up. There was a friendly girl that greeted me and gave me a couple of minutes to check the menu. The menu has a good variety of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and appetizer munchies, some with an eclectic twist. I decided to go with the Georgie Dog (jalapenos, cheese sauce, buffalo sauce, and shredded cheese). I only had to wait for about five minutes before receiving my order. The Georgie Dog was delicious with the combination of sliced jalapenos and buffalo sauce for a fiery taste, if you love spicy. The cheese sauce was also a good addition. A cup of Chili on the side was a perfect complement along with a bottled water to extinguish the fire and wash the meal down. It is interesting to note that Kristine's Flowers operates this food truck as displayed on the side of the truck. I was glad to support both local businesses and all the more reason to do so these days. There were other items on the menu that stood out that I intend to try in the future. Some notable ones include their signature Boom Ba Laddy (potatoes smothered with cheese and BBQ sauce BBQ pork, grilled onions, peppers, and topped with sour cream...definitely sounds filling!), the Mac and Cheese Deluxe Bowl (chicken, steak, or pork, with onion, peppers, and mushrooms), the Sexy Burger (lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, bacon, egg, cheese, herb mayo, and A1 sauce....not sure if the herbed mayo is what makes it sexy...), and the Yukon Fries (bacon, cheese, sour cream, tomato, and chives). Make sure to check their Facebook page for exact location and hours since the setup at Burlington Coat Factory was a random one.

Chicken bacon ranch sandwich. With fries and pasta.

This place is definitely amazing! It is definitely delicious would describe it as bar food. The chicken bacon ranch sandwich is great. Would probably ask for the bread to be toasted so the bread isn't falling apart. The fries are nice and warm and bring everything together. They also gave me a side of pasta they did. This was nice and light and a lot of flavor from the veggies that were in it. Definitely food to eat if you are not on a diet.

Boom Ba Laddy's: An interesting name for a food truck, I thought to myself as I walked up to order. A Purple Hippo drawn on the side of the truck: What is going on here? Still time for me to turn around. But then my nose picked up the wonderful smells of tasty food being fried on the grill. And the opening guitar to Skynyrd's "Simple Man" being played over the speakers. I think I might like this food truck after all... So I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak with side of fries. I was really hungry and got a sandwich stuffed with meat, peppers, onion and 2 cheeses melted together within a tender hoagie bun. A large side of hot French fries seasoned just right complemented the sandwich. I paid a reasonable $10 for this lunch and it completely killed my hunger. I'm glad I ignored my first impressions of this unique food truck. I enjoyed a tasty lunch which filled me up and did not break the bank. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Best BBQ in Anchorage, ya'll!…read more I decided to try this spot after Sharin F's glowing review. Check their FB page to find out where they are. Right now, the best places to find them are: Thursdays at the Spenard Food Truck Carnival: https://www.yelp.com/biz/spenard-food-truck-carnival-anchorage-2 Weekends at Anchorage Market: https://www.yelp.com/biz/anchorage-market-and-festival-anchorage I got the combo plate with brisket and pulled pork combo plate. The brisket was moist and fatty. It had huge chunks of fat, AS IT SHOULD. If you don't like fatty brisket, you dont' like brisket. Please stick to that tough, dry stuff that tastes like beef jerky from the gas station that ya'll call "brisket". The pulled pork was nicely smokey and charred, and not overly sweet! So much of the pulled pork in this town is over honeyed/corn-syrup'd/glazed/etc. It came with crinkle fries and coleslaw. The slaw was a brilliant mix of sweet and zesty flavors, loved it. For $20, it was a tiny bit on the high side, but ultimately well worth the cost! The service was funny and friendly, some of the best I've had in Anchorage. I will be back!

I checked out the website on the side of the truck and asked for a business card. I had an appointment to get to and groceries to drop off, but I figured I'd stop back by for lunch. We ended up grabbing the kids some po boys sandwiches to hold them over. The food smelled so good!! It's all I could think about my whole appointment. We stopped back by after and ordered the Denali Fries, Jambalaya, and a blackened catfish po boy. Yes, blackened catfish. I was also very skeptical. I must admit I was surprised at how amazing everything tasted. The blackened catfish sandwich was really good. The bread they use is so soft and chewy. The fish is flavorful and moist! The coleslaw it came with wasn't saturated in mayonnaise. It's was just the perfect dish. It was so filling I didn't eat the coleslaw. The portion to price ratio is perfect!! The jambalaya was soooooooo good. Drool worthy good. Rice cooked perfectly. Flavor on point! Right amount of heat. Full of veggies and meat. Just phenomenal. The Denali fries were probably the most fulfilling and surprising entree. I thought it would be a side of fries just loaded up. No! It's the whole container! Loaded with perfectly cooked fries, cheese, meat, jalapeños, and bbq sauce. Every single fry was loaded up. I low key felt guilty ordering them because I only ordered them so I didn't have to share my food with the kids if they were peckish. No one finished them. I highly recommend the Denali fries if you're super duper hungry. Even if you're sharing. There's a lot of bang for your buck there. A lot goes into the pulled pork on top. And for all of us environmentally conscious people out there, they use 100% composting containers. The containers turn to soil within 90 days. There's literally no waste. The service was a 10 out of 10. Can't beat it. Very personable, knowledgeable, and nice. Super upbeat and fun. I recommend this food truck. If you see it be sure to stop. They also have a Facebook you can check to see where they are any given day and what time. It's a must try. Drooling just writing this.

It's hard enough to find a diverse selection of foods in Anchorage, but if you want reasonably priced some delicious foods, this is one of my top recommendations. The food truck was super cute, and I ordered "whatever your favorites are, but white-girl spicy." The owner was gracious enough to tell me that everyone has different spice levels and I conceded that my digestive system is often in distress so I asked for the least amount of spice possible. As we waited, we sipped our horchata. It was a chilly winter day, but we didn't mind the iced drink while we browsed the open market outside of Double Shovel. The mountain pupusa was so fresh, delicious and filling. I was able to eat about a third of it and save the rest for later, with the added bonus that it felt nutritious and made with love. The eloté was quite honestly the highlight of my day, tangy and zippy with flavors. This place made my little foodie heart so happy, especially during a time when my dietary options were so limited.

They come with the traditional applesauce and sour cream. I found the portions generous - I came home with half a sandwich and 2 latkes to eat for dinner. The place is clean and has plenty of seats. They do breakfast all day. They also have Dr Browns soda from NY available by the can or case. The pickles can be bought too and all of their meats by the pound. We plan on coming to get some of the by the pound meats at another time. Staff was very friendly and helpful with answering any questions we had. Will definitely be back.
