Went here recently for breakfast. Food was pretty good. Service way good. Seemed a bit spendy for breakfast, but overall good.

Ok, I'm cracking up at the other reviews. Let's call this place what it is. It's a surreal, B-movie place to nurse a bad hang-over. If you've had a rough night out and haven't slept yet, then the food will be sublime and served by an angel. If you are coming after church, you will be sorely disappointed with the food and the service. But the hash browns do rule. read more

I found the atmosphere pleasant, the service decent, and the food that I got horrible. This was my first and last experience at Peppermill: The waitress asked me if I wanted something to drink. I chose a root beer float. That was the first time that I was not been able to taste the root beer in a root beer float. The reason that I couldn't taste the root beer was that it was so sickeningly sweet that any flavor other than sugar (or whatever the sweetener was) was simply overpowered. I was going to get a Reuben sandwich and a veggie wrap, but when the waitress reappeared to take my order, I happened to notice, in the menu, a seafood meal--"Captain's Plate", I think--with a variety of seafood listed, and decided that that would be perfect. It wasn't. The seafood, what little of it there was, had been deep-fat fried. There was much more deep-fat fried coating than seafood, and it was so disgustingly greasy, that nothing had any flavor. To make things worse, that wretched mess was dwarfed by the pile of French fries that it rested on. Yuk! At least the coleslaw was good (I didn't like any of the salad choices, so I ordered extra). read more

Has good food. The service is always questionable. Not in a good way. They have tunnel vision. It would be nice to be acknowledged "I will be right with you". Wes who works in the evening actually will comment to you about your tip you leave. You only deserve what you get. read more

Haters gonna hate! The Peppermill turned out to be a really great find for us! It doesn't profess to be a fancy sit-down restaurant, it's a neighborhood diner, so of COURSE all the foodies are over here throwing out one and two-star ratings like they're Alton Brown or Gail Simmons! I had the special which was a monster-sized chicken-fried steak with creamy homestyle mashed taters and steamed veggies. It was awesome! As far as diner food goes, the CFS made other restaurants taste like an old retread tire. It was flavorful, well breaded, and fried to crispy golden deliciousness. My better half ordered a roasted garlic burger with fries. While the burger was not as garlicky as she had hoped (our ONLY complaint about our trip to this joint), she enjoyed her meal immensely, and we have both sworn to return to tackle some of their amazing looking breakfast fare. The whole thing was under $20 for the both of us, and we were both extremely pleased. Don't come to the Peppermill expecting a duck leg confit with risotto and seasonal greens. Come here for a burger and fries or some homestyle pot roast. read more

So this is weird. My hispanic girlfriend and i came into peppermill, we made eye contact with a waitress and sat down. Some people came after us, they were immediately served and given menus. My girlfriend and I sat down, and proceeded to wait a solid 10 minutes for any service. One waitress said she'd be with us shortly - never happened. All the white patrons had no issue with service, were having pleasant conversations with the waitresses who were, to be polite, not seriously occupied. My wife and I ordered the Chicken fried steak and the Cowboy burger. The portion sizes are generous. The sweet potato fries are amazing and the burger is very tasty. I have had chicken fried steak in many places and it is very good here. I would have given 5 stars but there service is a bit slow which really is not a big deal. Usually we are treated okay at this bar. Last night was not one of them and they deserve one star for that night. I advise not to go in if you open door and it's busy. We bussed our own table after sitting at another one for 5-7 minutes. People weren't being waited on, so they mostly decided to go to the bar to order a drink. We moved to a smaller table so a larger group could have,our big one. We cleaned it off, wiped it down with a napkin, and waited an additional Ten minutes with waitresses passing us by. She shows up and I mentioned the table might need a wet cloth wipe which she said she would do. We get drinks, and by that time, I spotted a bar rag and cleaned the table since she didn't bring one. We wait for our food but after awhile she comes back and asks us what we ordered. We see her add the hummus plate to our bill since she hadn't even put the order in yet. When it arrives, our two favorite ingredients are missing. Hubby goes to bar to tell them. Shouldn't it be obvious to the waiter they were missing? He doesn't even greet us and this is a guy we are always friendly to. He just stated "hummus plate". Another guy comes by to clear some dishes, and spilled water all over the table and on my pants and shoes. I hope the restaurant workers read this so they know why they didn't get their usual 15% tip. read more

this has to be the worst bar in aloha...seriously, when the manager states "i would have killed children to stay in bed longer this morning" then you know the class tank is running on empty. the attractive, female bartender with the nice, throaty voice could have loaned some testosterone to her male counterpart as his voice got higher and squeekier with every word he uttered...sounded like a dog whistle by the time he finished his schpiel. food sat on the bar counter for a while until it was brought to us. but it wouldn't have mattered because the manager left his bowl of "schwagg" on the table and we had no room to eat. now to st pats day....we left. never got served after 10 min of waiting at our table. waitress came over, asked us how we were, leaned on our table while she fiddled with the tv remote, left, never took our order and never came back. there's about 8 tables you can sit at, and the waitress could handle none of them. i've eaten here before, and the food they brought was generally pretty good even though it wasn't what i ordered. i guess "tater tots" is lazy-speak for "potato salad".. bottom line...the service sucks. when the cook comes out of the kitchen to take your order and serve you, then you know the wait staff sucks...there's only, like 8 tables in the place and the staff can't keep up. i havent been to the restaurant part yet...and i wont if the reviews are accurate. i've given this bar many chances, and they've failed miserably every time. because i have to give one star instead of zero stars, i hereby declare that one star be removed from the next person who reviews this place. read more

Decent place for breakfast. The sports bar lounge is a great place to hang out. The night we went there, there was only one one person running bar and waiting tables. As more and more regulars filed in the service was slowed downed considerably. But the lady bartender and cook did their best to handle the patrons. They were extremely friendly and did a fantastic job. Menu is priced reasonably and they accept restaurant.com vouchers even for drinks!!!! read more

This review is for the day staff on the bar side. We have been coming here for quite a few years a couple times a month to play pool and have a bite to eat. I have always thought the bartenders were friendly and quick and the food is consistently good. We don't stretch ourselves too much but the club is always tasty, fries are hot and crispy and whatever fried basket my hubs orders makes him happy. Last month some friends and I decided to go over to this little bar for some drinks. It's across the street from my apartments. It was pretty late and I never go out that often due to my disability and people who tend to stare. My friends know that I'm just a normal blonde girl with a sassy personality, I love dogs, and obsessed with comedy. What wasn't funny was the bartender of Peppermill telling me and my friends she won't let me into the bar because she claimed and said loudly so others could hear her that I was drunk, slurring my words and stammering. Even after my friends expressed that I have cerebral palsy and I tend to walk a little differently and stutter sometimes. I was so embarrassed. It hurt my feelings deeply that I told the bartender and she told me I'm lying. Please don't go here and support people who make disabled people feel any less than what they are, which is a person. Who deserves respect. This place smells like vomit and is very poorly cleaned and decorated. It's run down and ran by disrespectful people. read more

You guys need to hire more staff for Sundays, I have been in here before and been disappointed in the slow service. Today i decided to stop in again and found it was a horrible mistake. I went in the bar side and it took almost 13 minutes for the one lone waitress to bring me a menu, at least 5 more to come back for my order. A total of 20 minutes just to get my beverage!! I ordered chicken fried steak with scambbled eggs, sounded yummy!! Yet to know if it is or not because at 1:10 when it came the gravy was couaguled and there were FRIED eggs over hard not the scrammbled I ordered!!! I offered to pay for my beverage but she said no, I hope she is not going to have to pay out of her paycheck just because her employers are too stingy to give her the help she needs to serve the customers properly!! I watched her today and she was hussling the entire time all the while keeping a smile on her face!! As long as you put your employees in a no win situation I not be back to watch it!!! read more

After all of the great reviews we stopped in for lunch today. Ughhhh 1) The table with a family of 4 that ordered 5 minutes after us was served 10 minutes before us and they messed up one kids burger so it was returned. Husband's sandwich was not satisfactory but he suffered through it. 2) My patty melt wasn't bad but hard to mess one of those up. Partner had chicken fried steak and it was all breading. 3) Took 3 tries to finally get my water glass refilled. When another waitress got my request she had been running around the restaurant trying to figure out who ordered the soda she had in her hand! When I asked for more water she stopped dead in her tracks and looked like a deer caught in headlights! I have never posted anything negative about a restaurant but I have no choice here. It was so bad we left a $1 tip for a $17 bill. We normally tip 25%. Our waitress had an attitude from the minute we sat down. If the attitude was from us being bikers, I am sorry for her. On the bar side service is horrible. Watched the bartender spend 10 minutes trying to pick up some guy at the pool tables. We tried to complain to the guy delivering food which seemed like it went in one ear and out the other. She walked up while we were talking to him and as we walked out she said in a very sarcastic voice "Have a nice night". If you win at video poker they expect a tip from your winnings. I watched one guy get paid right away one time and after he didn't tip the bartender made every effort to ignore him. Even the people sitting at the bar were not getting good service. The restaraunt charged my card an EXTRA 18% tip after I left a 20% tip, yet I still came back to the bar because the service from BJ was so amazing. Now that he is no longer there I will not be going back. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

The food here is ALWAYS great - - we love the Breakfasts. And the food arrives quickly - - as for the service - - WOW! Are always quickly greeted upon arrival and the staff is friendly and efficient. We especially enjoy Pako. He makes us VERY welcome and keeps our coffee cups filled. read more

This is a gem of a restaurant. We have never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. Today, I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was amazing. My husband had their chicken fajita salad and said it was fresh and would come back anytime for that salad. We've had in the past their traditional turkey sandwich which is great, as well as the hot turkey sandwich. It is a restaurant with $5 bottomless mimosas over the weekend and the orange juice tastes like it is fresh squeezed! I love that you can upgrade to tater tots for a small surcharge with any meal. The wait staff is helpful and friendly every time we've come in. The only sad thing is that they aren't open later on Sundays because sometimes you just want some good home style meals for Sunday dinner. Their prices are reasonable and the only reason that this is a hidden gem is that people don't realize it exists because it is on the side of the shopping plaza. But, once you find it you will make it a normal stomping ground. :) read more
