Love this place. I have been coming to Big Reds for many years now. One of my favorite items on the menu is the Cowboy omelette, cheese, bacon, ham, bell pepper, mushrooms and white onions you also get the choice of toast or pancakes. They have so many other great choices and I am now discovering that they have a great happy hour menu. They have great service, everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Menu is exactly same as Front row bar and grill in Hillsboro. All of us took burgers and it was just okay compared to latter. Since we stay near by it's a fall back option incase of late dinner Minors are allowed only till 10pm read more

I don't get out that much these days. Serious depression. Lack of funds. Pick your favorite excuse. That said, I've been here a few times and it's perfectly fine. I don't know if these are the same folks who had the Big Reds up on Sylvan. Seems like this place opened around the same time that the Sylvan location closed. I ran my business out of an office right around the corner so I was on a first name basis with most of the staff there. Never a problem finding a booth. Wait staff is consistently great, Food is at least ok. Better than Dennys. About the same as the Black Bear chain. No complaints at all. There are a few good eateries and watering holes in a mile or two radius of this place. This is one of the good ones. B'fast, lunch, dinner... all good. read more

Really solid first time here. Will come back for lunch or dinner soon. Had a good dinner here as it is close to our kids place off Scholls Ferry. I had the combo enchiladas. One beef one chicken. Both good, I preferred the chicken. Good beans and rice too. I heard the Burgers were good, didn't try them. The chicken tenders are prepared fresh in house. Had a bite- really good. They definitely don't taste like frozen chicken. The nachos are huge and messy. Really good bar food. Enjoy this place. They will probably be seeing more of us as it's convenient and good. read more

Wanted to add an update to my previous review. You definitely have to try the artichoke dip, it is amazing! So far, it is THE best that I have ever had and I love my artichoke dips. They have whole pieces of artichoke and that has been rare with other places. If you come in on a Saturday or Sunday morning, Kristen is absolutely amazing and a wonderful bartender who always has a smile and great service! Today we also got the stuffed hash browns and they are "mmm hmmm" too! They also have delicious Bloody Mary's and if you're up for it, try one of the Buttery Pancake shots with Jack Daniel's, they taste almost just like pancakes! read more

I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich to eat there and fish and chips to go. My sandwich was luke warm, bland, soggy and overall blah. The fish and chips which is one of their featured menu items... They were frozen fish sticks. The fish stick and tarter sauce reminded me of what a fillet o fish tastes like (tho it has been years since I ate one). My bill was $30 and I handed our server $40 and she asked if i wanted change? Um what? This annoys me more than the mediocre food. Of course I want change I am not leaving a 33% tip for blah food and basic service. If you want to watch many different TV's, have under whelming bland food and basic service this is the place for you. But keep your expectations low. read more

I was at Big Red's for breakfast. The food is very reasonably priced and very good. It came out just as I ordered it, hot and fresh. Hats of to the cooks! The wait staff was attentive and was quick to refill my coffee. There were not many people there when I was there but the place is big and can seat plenty. Great place, I'll be back. read more

Wow this was unbelievable!! 3/3/2023 @ 2:pm went here and the front lobby was empty except for two women sitting at a both (last both on the right side) the women facing us kept looking up and over at us standing there for 7 minutes. Then the other woman got up and asked if we wanted to sit down. We did in the bar area and we were told Sonja the waitress would help us. Sonja got our order and our drinks which was a very flat watery coke and ice tea. 23 minutes later Sonja came back to tell us she forgot to put in our order. Mind you at this time there was only one person at the bar. No other patrons. A few folks came in to play pool after our order was taken. I told her about the flat cake and she said we could leave without paying for the drinks and we had no order coming cause she forgot to put it in. I am a regular in the dining room. I go there on week day mornings when it is less crowded. The service is wonderful, especially Rhonda who is supper caring and efficient. The food is wonderful. They make my poached eggs really well. They have the best bacon you will find anywhere! Julie the manager is excellent and she keeps the place running well. read more

This place could go either way stars wise. It's a strange place. I found it by staring out my window and seeing the big red sign, which was perfect on a cold dark rainy night. Location was critical to me. An extra star for location, service, and a good Happy Hour deals. The service was great. My server Nicole was very friendly and she gave me good information on top of asking me how things were after the food arrived. Food came out on time and I enjoyed it. My Philly cheesesteak wasn't really a Philly cheesesteak, it was actually an Chicago Italian Beef. I guess the perspective from Oregon is they're almost the same, beef on a roll with cheese. Big chunks of onion and green peppers are heated with thin sliced beef and it's juice. There's no pickled veggies, which would make it 100% Chicago Italian. Swiss is a great cheese, but isn't a Philly classic. A squirt of plebeian cheese wiz is standard. My PBR was under the very inexpensive Monday special, $2.50 per pint. Delightful! It's a strange layout. Everyone was stuffed in the standard dingy bar scene. The dining room was very well lit, almost too bright. It's a large space that could accommodate a big crowd. It was empty, which is weird to sit down and be the only patron. It was perfect for me due to location, cheap beer, good service and decent food. read more

We've drove by this place so many times and finally stopped by for a late lunch. It turned out to be a happy hour time. Ordered the cheeseburger and chicken strips on the happy hour menu and both came with a basket full of fries. I am very particular about fries and wow, they were good! Nice thick slices yet crunchy texture. The chicken strips were made with a thick cut of chicken breast. So juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. The cheese burger was decent as well. First time, we were super full from eating only 2 happy hour dishes. We had hard time finishing the fries because there was so many of them. We will definitely come back during basketball playoffs to watch the game and have great food during happy hour. read more

Don't do it! We were hoping for breakfast food however they do not serve it during the week. I believe it wouldn't of mattered since it was just not right. Service: first and foremost this review is based on food only. Our waitress was friendly and prompt she had nothing to do with the food. I forgot her name but she earned more than 1 Star. Parking: horrible, the parking lot is small and tight, they have added many business there and around 5 PM we had to wait for a spot. Ambience: well not much to say tables chairs and many TVS Food: first let me say this place does not use seasoning at all. There wasn't even a pinch of salt. I paid $1 more for chili that was bland with cheese and onions! The salad looked great when it came out however it taste like water and the blue cheese was watered down. That's a huge pet peeve of mine, do not water down your salad dressings! Even the tater tots were plain. Price: insert eye roll here- $30 and I had heartburn for days! read more

I know everything is open now. I know restaurants and bars are struggling to find help. But when you come to a place with outdoor seating (with your pal who's high risk), actually WALK INSIDE and alert the bartender that you're on the patio, is it unreasonable to expect that someone will eventually come out to help you? This did not happen. Nor was it the first time it's happened to us. Your food is super ordinary and your service is lacking. Do better. read more

I take my 86 year old father to breakfast on Saturday's. His "place" was Cracker Barrell but when they closed, I took him to Big Red's for breakfast. It was not only delicious, the waitress was amazing. We got to know her and now my Dad is happy we have a new "regular" place to go! read more

If you want to relax and enjoy good food and spirits and watch sports, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO. Loud and foul language all day. Management displays no control Even the dining room is affected. Lots of better places for sports and good times. Nice and competent waitresses. used to be a decent sports bar. not anymore. went from a nice place to watch sports to a total dive in 5 short years. bummer read more

I'd already ordered off the regular menu, and chose to not change to something on the HH hour just to avoid the conflict. I have no idea what is inspiring this behavior. Perhaps people who order off HH menus don't tip well? In any case, this new HH attitude has definitely dampened my enthusiasm for Fireside. Which is sad since it still has a great tap list and menu.

The restaurant was clean, spacious, and had such a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we walked in. I ordered the Ol' Dirty Buffalo bone-in wings with a side of fries, while my husband ordered the Bao tacos. The tacos were a really good size and absolutely delicious. The nice thing is, you only get charged for one person while everyone else at your table can also try the tea. Service was good and very friendly. As for the food, it was pretty good, not out of this world but you're going for the tea and not necessarily the food (IMO).

When I brought it to the attention of the waitress, she said they all come from the same line. My friend's beer had a decent head on it and carbonation. I inquired if there was any prime rib special left, and instead of telling me sorry can I get you something else, the waitress just replied, "No" and walked away. She didn't check in on us frequently and seemed like she would have liked to be anywhere else. The guy from the bar, with the long beard was very nice and engaging. Probably won't return.
