There's always that concern in the back of your mind whether the mechanic is ripping you off or telling you that you need to do something to the car that isn't really necessary. I can tell you for certain that Peppers is a shop that acts with integrity. On two separate instances they had the opportunity to take advantage of me because I thought I needed an expensive thing done to my vehicle and twice they took a look and gave me advice that saved me money and kept a larger payday from them. Super nice guys. Upon arrival I saw them swapping out a guy's engine into a car they had on their lot because he had totaled it hitting a deer. Heck of a Christmas gift. What that told me is I could trust these guys. They fixed a brake fault that I had on my vehicle from a sensor that was damaged, did an oil change and quoted me on my 80k fluid maintenance for thousands less than the dealer quoted me. My wife complained about a brake issue(grinding). I have heard good things about Peppers & decided to give them a try. The folks at peppers are very honest. It ended up being some rust on the rotor. I can't express how rude was a person on the phone! I was taking my car there for oil change and other fixes. I called to make my appointment and a dude was yelling at me, yes he was yelling! He complained having 30 cars a day and that I there is no way for me to wait outside for an oil change. I usually go to the park near and wait until they call me because I live 30 min away. You can talk nicely and be professional explaining that you're too busy but screaming on the phone is extremely unprofessional. I will bring my buisness and money somewhere else. I ordered my tires online, had them shipped there, installation scheduled, and everything paid for with my Goodyear card, which made it easy and allowed me to take advantage of promotional financing and some serious rebates. The service itself, from initial contact to pickup/dropoff service, quality of work, easy answers to questions, and bagging up/helping me out with the tires that had just been taken off, was executed flawlessly. Stopped in and shared information about needing a transmission flush. Set up an appt. for 8:00 am for later in the week. Was told the job would take 1.5 hours (2 hours max) Indicated I would wait for the car when I came back for appt. and was told that would be fine. On day of appt. dropped off car promptly at 8 and stated I would be waiting. Took a walk, read a book, returned at 10:30. Saw my car in a different spot in the lot and asked to pay the bill. Desk clerk went to the back to get my paperwork. Returned stating that my car had not been worked on during the 2.5 hours of waiting. Why give appointments if you are not going to honor the valuable time of your customers? I should be sending a bill to Pepper's for my time. Will not be returning. read more

Ben using Pepper's Auto for a few years now. Have never had a bad experience. Yes, you might be able to get the oil changed a little bit cheaper somewhere else, but you won't get that customer service. Pepper's will take time to explain anything to you and tell you what you need to have done, and what can wait. Last year, I hit a chunk of metal on the highway and broke one of the rear struts. We were supposed to leave for vacation the next day. I got my van to them about 2pm, and was back on the road by 3:30. Pepper's saves the day!!!! Just recently took my truck to Peppers. I had a problem with the floor vents not working and my check engine light was on. They had to replace an engine part and fix the mixed up vents. The truck was done in a few hours and the cost seemed very fair. These guys are fast, honest and do great work. I highly recommend them. read more

This place saved me over $400 (four hundred) on car repairs after another car place (chain right down the street, but shall not be named) told me I needed a, b, and c. My entire car was shaking and it was worrisome. I took it to Pepper's and they told me I did NOT need a, b, OR c done and did a quick fix for me. My 7-year-old car now runs smoothly, almost like new! I've been using these guys for 9 years and I can honestly say that they do an awesome job. Fair prices and great service. Nice guys to boot. One time I brought my car in because of a problem with the air conditioning. Because they had my car on file, he let me know that it might still be under warranty and I should call the dealer to see. So I told them to hold off while I called and sure enough it was still good for 10 days. (For ONCE in my life something crapped out right BEFORE the warranty, instead of right after.) So I went it picked it up and thanked them. They could have easily just told me a price and fixed it for me. That sealed the deal for me. I won't ever go anywhere else. read more

The service manager, Bruce, kept me well informed with what was going on with my car and gave me the feeling that I could trust this place. I love this repair center! Great people, fair pricing and good work. Did I mention helpful...We recently dropped our keys in the engine compartment of our new Beetle Convertable. One opps and out of pocket it went to the bottom of the compartment. It required removal of the belly pan to check for the keys. Done in a few hours and to my surprise...when I asked for the bill...I was told no charge and, they were glad to be able to help me out. This is the third time I have had a chance to bring one of my vehicles to Pepper's. Because it was a VW I was a little concerned that they might not be up to the task. I was wrong. Bill looked into the alarms the car was displaying, searched the maintenance notifications on the car, and came up with the problem. It wasn't the best news but once they got it apart he had hit it right on the head. He told me there were going to be two possible outcomes, one moderately expensive and one that was quite a bit more depending on the conditions. They kept me informed on the progress and fortunately he was able to repair the vehicle with the first solution.
