I would not go anywhere else to have my Tesla repaired. They know everything there is to know - especially what insurance will cover and won't cover! They were up front about possible out of pocket costs and worked closely with the adjuster. If you drive a Tesla, I would call Kallemeyn prior to needing to have your car fixed. Cars. You love them. You hate them. But if you live in the "burbs"- it's really impossible to get around without one. Now I am not one of those "you are what you drive" people, but I do like a nice car. I have a nice car albeit she is getting up there in years. So she needed a little "touch up" work. That ugly blemish of rust had appeared in a couple of spots on her body and some previous "work" on her had not been properly done. Enter in Kallemeyn. Since this was "cosmetic surgery" it was not going to be covered by insurance so I needed to make sure my "old gal" was taken care of by the best but at a price I was willing to pay. Kallemeyn was great. Amazing customer service! They came to my house three times. Once to give me an estimate on the work, once to pick up my car, and finally to return my car all shiny and "new". With her face and body work done- she looks like a million bucks! Prices were reasonable compared to the other places that I checked into and they kept me informed every step of the way with pictures of "my girl" undergoing her "work" and live conversations when they found that some of the blemishes were deeper than face value. Again- I'm not one of those crazy car people who fuss about their cars. But I love that my "gal" shines a little brighter these days, with her new "face" and "body" and if I didn't know better- I'd say she's smiling too! read more

I brought my car to Kallemeyn for an estimate. As soon I walked in, I could hear the men working in back yelling and using extremely vulgar language. It made me feel instantly uncomfortable. Joe, the man working at the desk, didn't even look up at me and just motioned with his head for me to fill out paperwork. He then shut the door to the back because he realized how inappropriate it was for the men to be heard talking that way. Joe brought me outside with him to take pictures of my car. When I received the estimate, Joe quoted me almost $10,000! I was floored! I took my car to two other places for estimates; one for $3,800 and the other for $1,800. How could Kallemeyn be so far off? I feel like Joe took advantage of me. I have been in a car crash with three times the damage to my car as I have now and it was nowhere near $10,000. Needless to say, I will not be brining my car back to Kallemeyn for repairs and I don't recommend this business to others. read more

I have used Kallemeyn Collision in Lemont on several vehicles over the last 15 years. They are by far the absolute best in the business. From the initial phone call to set up an appointment to view my damaged vehicles, to dealing with insurance adjusters, having my rental car ready, and taking care of every detail, they are the utmost professionals. Their work is impeccable. My car was not only repaired, but it was detailed inside/out when I picked it up. Craig is in the office by 5:30am and follows up on every call/email within hours of leaving a message. He keeps you updated on every step of the process and gets the work done in a timely manner. Kallemeyn Collision Center is the shadiest car repair center I have ever dealt with! They charge a higher labor rate than any insurance company is willing to cover and basically hold you hostage, as they are one of only a couple of Tesla authorized repair centers in the Chicagoland area... We were told the car was finished and ready to be picked up, but upon arrival, we were informed of additional charges that the insurance company hadn't yet authorized, and they refused to release it to us until we paid the additional $1,200.00!!!! We were told we'd have to wait for State Farm to pay us directly. Tesla should be ashamed that they are associated with and are forcing their customers to use this body shop!!!!! Tesla should drop this company immediately!!!! read more

This was the second time my wife's Tesla needed body repair work. The company that did it the first time is no longer Tesla certified. Tesla's website recommended Kallemeyn, which is about the only Tesla certified shop around. It was difficult dealing with the insurance company, but Kallemeyn worked with them to get everything covered. I had to fight the insurance company when they still wanted me to pay $1,200 above my deductible. Craig and Joe at Kallemeyn were extremely professional and helpful and they did great work. The car is as good as new. And Craig recommended an insurance broker who can help me find an insurance company that stands behind the insurance policies they sell and cover a complete and professional repair. Now, hopefully, no more inanimate objects will jump in the way of the car when my wife is driving! read more

Jeff and the guys truly put the SERVICE in customer service. Sorry to say I can't even count the number of bumps and more repaired at Kallemeyn over the last 20 years. Not only is the quality of work flawless but Jeff handles all contact with the insurance companies so there are no hassles or sub-optimal materials used or corners cut. We actually drove our Lexus from Florida to be repaired at Kallemeyn because with all of the inferior body shops out there we wanted it done right. I've been working with this shop for over 5 years. The company I work for takes their damaged vehicles to Kallemeyn for repair and I'm the one that is the middleman between Kallemeyn, the company I work for and our insurance company. We probably take around 7-10 vehicles there a year. The staff up front are professional, they are experts in auto body repair and insurance claims. Their auto body technicians are top notch, we've never had an issue with repairs not being correct. I've toured their shop, its clean and orderly and I'm very impressed with the amount of training their staff has done and continues to do. Now you might be thinking "Ok this reviewer can say this because the cars getting repaired are company cars so he really doesn't care." I'll tell you right now that is false. My wife's vehicle had some damage to it. To me it looked like really bad scratches all down the passenger side door like she got side swiped. I took it to Kallemeyn to get an estimate, which is an hour drive from where I live (yeah I trust them that much). The guy I always deal with takes a look at it, says "hang on" and comes back out with a polishing tool and took the scratches out in a few minutes. I would bet another shop would've charged me hundreds for something that took 15 minutes to fix. Bottom line - Kallemeyn Collision is a top notch shop that I have personally recommended to friends and family and I will take my personal vehicles there if I ever get into an accident. If your doing research for an auto body shop and are reading reviews on Kallemeyn, I'd be really skeptical about the one star one sentence reviews. read more

My car got into an accident (not my fault) so I took it to Kallemeyn just to get a quote. From the very second I walked into the door they were SO SO SO friendly. I had no clue what I was doing as far as dealing with the insurance companies and what they would cover, but the guys at Kallemeyn were all over it and knew exactly what to do. I recently had my car repaired after a collision (improper lane usage by other driver) at their Palos Heights location. Overall, I was extremely impressed. While the repairs took slightly longer than estimated (by approx. one week, not too bad since i had a rental), my car looks incredible. I was most impressed by their attention to detail---they scrubbed my cup holders for goodness sake! It is clearly evident that they care about their customers. Also, I would say my communications with them were professional and pleasant. I suppose my only "complaint" was that, on Monday, they told me my car would be ready by Wed PM or Thurs AM. However, I got a call at 3:30 PM on Thurs saying that my car was ready and they closed at 5:30 and since this was a holiday weekend, it would be ready for pickup on Monday AM. I guess that would be the only opportunity for improvement. I will also say I was able to leave my car there for the rental company to pick up (did not have to go back to the rental care location, which was very nice). Again, really great experience.
