I was actually in the plaza for Kitty's Fish & Chips next door and the M-F Weekday Lunch Specials from Pep's Sub & Pizza Shack piqued my curiosity. Since I had placed an already big order next door, I opted to try the #1 Personal Pizza $6.99 - I mean, who does NOT love pizza? The pepperoni were evenly placed (with care) on the personal pizza, and they included a packet of parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. One bite was all it took... the dough, the sauce, and the crispy pepperoni is already above a chain pizza joint. The personal pizza was baked to perfection, nothing overburnt or under. Next time I will be back for a regular-sized pizza and other items on the menu! The interior is a bit smaller than I expected, but it sure does feel cozy. Small mom and pop, support local businesses! I do come to this establishment on a regular basis. The reason I do is because the staff is friendly the food is good the ambiance is welcoming. I saw a review from R.Robinson and noticed he went to a few establishments within a 5-hour time. He seems to have a slight dislike for most places he goes to. Lighten up and relax when you go to different establishments. My guess is you're just might have a good time. Ordered a Shack Special Pizza(mini) and a small Pepperoni Pizza. The crust is so crispy and the cheese pull from the pizza is amazing! Also got a small Antipasto Salad that was also pretty good. Will have to order from here more often especially since it's across the street!! read more

Local pizza place that's been here since the 70's under different names. Was a Straw Hat originally, they still have the same ovens! Solid medium crust pizza, the cheese and pepperoni, not too greasy, good flavor. Excellent homemade Italian dressing on the salad. Garlic bread, closer to garlic toast. Massive, massive mugs of beer. Insanely loud during games, and I'm half deaf from being a woodshop teacher. Total neighborhood place, everybody knows everybody else. Pretty solid, but not exceptional. read more

Missy was the waitress and bartender the night we went. She's a doll. She truly makes you feel welcome. The whole place is filled with regulars, from what it looked like to us. Everyone greeted each other as old friends do. The husband had the meatball sausage sandwich and I had the sausage and pepper's sandwich. We really liked the food. For all the years this place has been here and this was the first time visiting. We will definitely be back, we want to try the pizza next time. This place is a sleeper. I was at Rite Aid getting my booster and was hungry, saw this little spot and thought I'd grab a sandwich for me and the Family. I ordered a turkey and Swiss a nervous wreck and a barbecue beef. The meat was super fresh the rolls were super soft, and the kitchen was really clean. BUT they get four stars because they have been consistent for YEARS, they are quick, have a decent priced lunch special that will get your a personal sized pizza, salad, and medium drink. Personal sized pizza is not too small to leave you hungry still, nor is it too big to leave any behind - perfect size. I would not say its think nor thick, but just right. Cheese and sauce is good, and the salad may be a quick small salad, BUT their ranch is good AND they include the very small sized croutons! So first off, I didn't have the pizza here, just a sub. But I mean, it was... fine. Just your run of the mill sub that you could buy at any deli or grocery store. The restaurant itself seemed very claustrophobic and dark/dungeon-like. I wasn't feeling it at all. The Asian lady who took my order/made my food was not friendly. I mean, I guess this place might be cool with friends, having beers, and watching the game, but I can think of dozens of better places I'd rather do that than this place. Not a fan. Came down this past Saturday for an early dinner. Ordered the roast Beef Sub which was excellent. My mom ordered the pastrami sandwich. Also excellent. We noticed they have great prices on imported and domestic beer. These days $3.50 for a Modelo Especial is a great price! Will be coming back for more! Pep's has been around for as long as I can remember. It's a small family owned restaurant - an older Asian couple - and they always have a good bartender/barback on staff for the busier days. It can be a bit of a wait for food to come out when it's busy but it's totally worth it! Fluffy crust with the a bit of a crisp and an ice cold pitcher of beer. it's a cute little sports bar! and nobody ever thinks sports bars are cute, right?? well i certainly don't. but this one is pretty cute! if they started a karaoke night, it would be freakin awesome here! it's not very big at all. lots of those little machines at the front....gumball, mood rings, candy, etc. a few arcade games...not all of them are in working order. they have lunch and dinner specials. we had 2 mini lunch special pizzas. very filling lunch for me and the boys for under $9. the place is run by an asian couple. after we got our pizza, i asked for ranch and the lady tried to charge me an extra 50 cents for ranch. so i said...uh never mind then. then a few minutes later, she came out with a little container of ranch. awww i guess she felt bad. the coolest part of the whole place is that they have an ecast machine. i've never seen or heard of one before. i just thought it was a fancy jukebox... but it's even BETTER than fancy jukebox! you can pretty much play any song you want on there. just type it in and it's there. songs range from 1 - 3 credits each. (credit = quarter) i was very amused. they do note that you can't play music during games on the weekends and monday night football. patrons will get pissy. i wanna go back for happy hour. pitcher of hef for $9.83!!! i'm soooo there! read more

Read reviews and decided to check this place out. First off this place doesn't give off that good pizzeria smell that you would find in most pizza joints. Service was decent. The food on the other hand I would have to agree with a previous post that the pizza does in fact taste like it was premade and frozen.
