The pineapple/pastor combo was delicious and creative! The green drizzle was a great touch with a radish to cut the heaviness! - Birria Pizza (S) 14 Lack luster. The consume was not flavorful at all and very viscous, overall diluted. The meat texture was great, my boyfriend thought it was dry. Loved the orange drizzle but apart from that I would skip this. - Boneless Chicken Wings (L) 15 Literally essential. You can choose a buffalo, ranch, hot honey, mandarin habenaro, and bbq! I always do buffalo and ranch, their buffalo is so good its sweet and tangy. Chicken is fried to perfection with the best crust. - Special Slice of the Day, Thursday 4.20 Love the kick flip, would not want to get a whole pizza so I try to come on Thursdays! I love the ricotta piped on which makes it creamy and makes the grease worth it! Definitely consider patting it off (worth the sin). For two people, I would do two daily slices and an appetizer! Or you could do one daily slice, an appetizer, and a small pizza only if you want left overs. Order at the front then sit down, there's self order if you prefer. I bought this pizza for my pizza-loving friend as part of her bday gift. She's more of the pizza expert than I am, and she seemed to love this pizza! I ate a slice and thought it was good, maybe I was expecting more due to the hype around this place. To me it seemed like an average pepperoni pizza. This place has a cool 90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme. They even have games you could play! The location is pretty small, but there is some seating/tables. I had the elote pizza. I like the ninja turtle theme in this place. There are a lot of art work, magazine, and a game console available inside the store. Server was friendly. We ordered the medium Hawaiian pizza and mozzarella cheesesteak. The signature mozzarella cheesesteak was huge, but sadly it tasted decent and nothing special. Came in to a cool pizza spot that was decorated themed with tmnt early 90's. We ordered a large pizza, wings, and some cheesy bread. Came with marinara, buffalo, and ranch sauces on the side. Ordered kick flip, but didn't really taste any heat on the pizza. Pizza had good flavor and a decent undercarriage, just a little too thin for my liking. This is a solid place to go to if you want some creative pizzas, different from the ones at your chain pizza restaurants. I really like the customizability and the fact that you can create your own pizzas here. A small 10" pizza is quite small and I could eat it all on my own in one sitting. I would recommend a large size pizza per 2 people. In addition to custom pizzas, there is a menu of signature pizzas. My partner and I shared the al pastor pizza, which contains slow roasted pork, mozzarella cheese, pineapple, onions, radish, sala verde, and cilantro. It was pretty good, although not breathtaking. My dog loves the pupperoni pizza pie. It is made using a whole wheat, yeast-free crust and topped with roasted carrot purée, grilled chicken breast, and parsley. Presentation of the pizzas is excellent. For dining in, the pizza is served on a tray, while for takeout, the pizza is served in a box. Been wanting to try this place! It was pretty yummy! My friend is picky so I let her choose the food. We got the really big mozzarella stick, Detroit style Al pastor, and a slice of kickflip. Mozzarella stick wasn't gooey, but the crust was crunchy! It came with marinara and each for dipping. The kickflip probably would have been better if it was freshly made. Next time I'll order a whole pizza. Didn't really taste the chili oil on there. The star was the Detroit style pizza. Al pastor was good, but I would have picked a more traditional topping. December 30th had all the markings of a very special day for my Family- My oldest son the Pastor's last day in town with us before flying back to WDC, where he's the Campus Minister at George Washington University. Moreover, his and my alma mater USC was playing in the Valero Alamo Bowl at 6pm, favored over TCU. To crown an eventful final day in town, I ordered up a trio of large pizzas from Rose City Pizza in Covina. I'd settled on RCP because of their strong reviews (4.4 stars on nearly 1,000). Rose City Pizza traces its origins to its original Rosemead location...then preserved the name when they relocated to a former floral shop in Covina. So, despite the disappointment of watching our beloved Trojans gag/flop and stumble themselves to an embarrassing 30-24 defeat, do RCP pies pass yhe test?! You bet they do!!! The crust is stellar- Thin, chewy, well charred but not overdone on the bottoms, making for a wondrous chewy, slightly sweet mouth feel. The runaway winner for "Best Tasting Pie" of our trio, voted on by all five of my Family members, was the BBQ Chicken, which we'd accord 5 stars. To quote my youngest, "I've yet to ever be disappointed by a BBQ Chicken pizza. Even the frozen CPK ones are quite decent." The Pick Six is good, a solid 4 stars. The pepperonis are the old world smaller discs. Meaning the edges curl when cooked. They've a peppery warm flavor- ideal! The concept of spraying the ricotta out in ornate little "accordions" of pleats and folds is, while visually stunning...produces a wet, gelatinous mouthfeel. We probably won't be reordering this one. The Elote wins the medal for "Most Anticipated Pie," as my wife is a native born Michoacana and she and our three kids have always relished street-vended Elotes smeared with mayo, parmesan and Taijin seasoning. The overall flavors are completely on point, a corn-dense, Taijin peppered taste balanced with cooling cilantro. But the overall paucity of corn coupled with the "wet" taste due to the heavy swirls of Taijin sauce makes this a 3 star pie. Only my bride called this one her favorite, the other four of us rated it third. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I placed my order online and when I arrived 18 mins later the trio of large pies were ready. My order was $69.14 incl tax for all three. All in all, RCP deserves its strong 4.4 star overall review score. But for us, on this particular trio of flavor pies we ordered, the bloom was a wee bit of the rose. read more

visited rose city pizza for the first time since 2021! their old location was in rosemead. we wanted to get a large pizza: half elote and half birria but unfortunately they don't do that anymore. we had it back in 2021 and thought it was amazing. because we were just eating a small lunch, we ended up getting two small pizzas: one elote and one birria without consumme as it's extra cost. loved both pizzas but def think the birria pizza would taste better with the consumme. maybe next time! we'd def love to try other options the next time we are in town as we were just visiting! elote pizza was delicious ! love the sauce on it! staff was super helpful on their recommendations! thank you for spending the time to chat with us on the menu! read more

Had this spot in my recommendations for a long time and I finally got to try it with my partner since we were in the area. Parking lot is small as with most pizza shops. We decided to dine inside the pizza shop as they have a few tables around, but most people get their pizza to go instead. We tried their Al Pastor Pizza (Small) which took around 15 minutes to come out which is pretty fast considering they make the pizza from scratch. (Staff advised for 30 minutes) so plus points for having the pizza made fresh & fast. Portions are decent, one person can definitely finish one small pizza as it's sliced into 4s. Crust is perfect, not too hard nor soft, just the perfect crunch with crispy edges. Toppings don't fall off easily which is a huge plus for me. My partner and I were also visiting due to the fact that they have the "Pupperoni Pizza" a dog friendly pizza that I was most excited for my pet dog to try. However, upon ordering and paying, staff came out to us a bit later that we would have to wait for over two hours as they had to take it out of the freezer to defrost. Although a little disappointed, it was understanding and a refund was processed. For future reference, I would advise with the restaurant before ordering to prevent a situation like this. I went her on a whim because I was in the area and I was not disappointed! I got the tavern elote pizza and it was sooo yummy. I loved how thin the crust was and it was flavorful for being so thin. The establishment had two arcade games which were street fighter. They had cool paintings and had ninja turtle decorations all over. I also got the giant mozzarella stick which had amazing cheese pull. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was because they had ran out of their slice of the day. Everyday they do a different slice pizza and when I got there at 4PM they had already ran out which wasn't cool to me. Seating and parking are both very limited, so be prepared to take your pizza to go. There is also a skate park across the parking lot, so it can get very busy! I used to like the Rose City Pizza when the Rosemead location was opened. Decided to try this location to see how well it holds up. For the order, I called the store a little after they opened. It was advised that the pizza would be ready within 30 minutes. I came a little bit after and it was a quick process to pick up. As most pizza places, the parking lot was small. But it wasn't busy, so no issues with parking. They have a few indoor seating for those that want to dine in. In terms of the flavor, I got the Al pastor pizza. This was one of my favorite flavors previously, so I wanted to bring this to a potluck. Upon asking the staff over phone, they advised a large pizza would be about 8 slices, so that's what I got. To be honest, the quality did not taste the same as the other location. However, I did wait a bit to try it, so it probably tastes better fresh. I do like this pizza brand because of the uniqueness of their flavors. I'm curious on how other flavors might taste like, so I'll be coming back to try a fresh pizza!
