BUYER BEWARE (It looks as though we are not the only one with a similar problem). To keep this simple and without emotion, I will summarize our purchase: - 14 months since purchase (the vehicle is officially 'dead') - $10,000+ : What we paid for our family of five. - $13,000+ : In REPAIRS - $9,500: The final estimate the Toyota dealership gave us to replace the engine and basically 'start over'. Our issues began *days* after the 90 day warranty. To quote the dealerships reply: "You're problem. Not ours." We have cases open with the Attorney General's office, a complaint has been filed with the BBB, and we will continue to share our experience through every review we can find. On June 6,2022 I went to Performance Auto in Jessup, Md for a complaint of no air conditioning in my car. The company charged me $89.95 diagnostic fee and advised me in writing that the problem was low on refrigerant due to the compressor leaking; needing replacement. Nothing was mentioned about any other repairs being needed. On June 10, 2022 I returned and authorized the repairs on my car and upon completion of the work, went home to find the repairs not fixing the problem. I subsequently called Performance back and told them that it is not fixed and arranged to come back on June 13th and waited approximately two hours for them to fix it. When I got the car back and drove home, it was evident that the unit was still not blowing cold air and called them back and brought my car back in on June 16th and again on June 30th. Spending all total about 8 hours of my time waiting for PROPER repairs to be made. Never being told what was wrong at any time no given a receipt for what repairs were made after the compressor work was done. Finally, I sent an email on July 2nd to them and followed up Tuesday July 5th with a phone call where I talked to the dispatcher and told her that I want my money back and I don't have confidence in the shop. Now they say because the car is old the system should be replaced but they can not state specifically what is wrong. When it was cooler out there was slight cool air at first. Now it is HOT air. Beware of this company as this is highly unethical and unprofessional and not the way customers should be treated. When you give an estimate to fix something, EVERYTHING should be in the estimate; not coming in after the fact and try to b.s. your way through a botched repair. read more

I had a great buying experience, no problem there. However it appears the car was never serviced before putting it up for sale other than an oil change. One of the first things it needed a few weeks after purchase was windshield washer fluid - the tank was completely dry. I also found the previous owner's registration in the car's book/info packet - that should've been removed. I'm now 5 months out from purchase and it needs front brakes, transmission and brake fluid flush and a few other things that should have been done before it was sold. The car also has a rattle sound which I did return to the shop for them to take a look at but it was difficult to identify. However, because this car was not properly prepared for sale, I wouldn't recommend this dealer. read more

I went in May 2020 and looked at a 2013 BMW 528i and the vehicle was nice looking and it had low miles. Going through the process of buying was pretty easy and simple. I had to wait a few days to get my vehicle because it had a crack in the windshield. I got my 2013 on a Sunday. I called on that following Tuesday and asked for my paperwork for my warranty. I got I am sorry I will send it out today. I actually did not get the paperwork until 3 weeks later after calling several times. I have had some work done to it because of an earlier wear and tear issue. Mind you it has not even been 4 months and I am already having problems. I did get an extended warranty (Proguard) which was not fully explained. They don't tell you that this insurance only pays 100.00 dollars in labor and not taxes. So you have to pay a deductible as well as the labor if over $100.00 and taxes. But what made me really upset was that the salesmen lied about my tags. I had a business trip coming up in July and I was going to be gone for 2 months and my tag was about to expire in a few weeks. I call the lot and they tell me I had to go through inspection. I was then proceeded to tell them that the salesmen told me that my tag would be mailed to me and I did not have to go through inspection. So I had to get a new temp tag FEDEX to me and wait for my regular tag to come. If you have to choose this place bring a mechanic with you and ask a lot of questions and get proof of documentation of what is being said. If so go somewhere else. read more

I purchased two vehicles inside of a year from Per4mance Auto, I will purchase another car soon as I have my have my eye on a Audi TDI sitting on the lot with low mileage. What I will not do and I recommend anyone purchasing a car from Per4mance DO NOT PURCHASE THE AFTER MARKET WARRANTY THROUGH JANUS with the ADMINSTRATOR "WARRANTECH AUTOMOTIVE INC. JANUS/WARRANTECH AUTOMOTIVE do not stand behind the WARRANTY. I experience loss of power and engine noises on 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND MODEL as the owner placing about 47,000 miles on the vehicle. The warranty states take the vehicle to repair shop of your choosing. February DAR CARS CHRYSLER review the vehicle and determine the lifters and cam are the problem. No issues with oil burning, sludge build up. Repair Shop sends in claim, JANUSWARRANTECH reviewed the claim and sends out and independent inspector, he observes the same problem as the repair shop. JANUS/WARRANTECH deny claim. April 26th PAUL GUSTAFSON JANUS WARRANTY ADMINISTARTOR contacts me and says he wants the vehicle to be inspected at a repair facility he trusts, as he does not trust DAR CARS CHRYSLER. I have vehicle towed to the repair shop he selected. Much smaller shop than CHRYSLER DAR CARS, no problem as he assured me his mechanic will get the ball rolling and fix it. May 15th 2019 the repair shop calls and informs me that PAUL GUSTAFSON informed them JANUS/WARRANTECH will not cover the repairs. I say again Buy a car all day everyday from PER4MANCE however shop around and purchase AFTER MARKET WARRANTY tailored to meet your needs and automobile usage. JANUS/WARRANTECH AUTOMOTIVE is a rip off. PAUL GUSTAFSON did not have the decency to notify me and inform me JANUS/WARRANTECH would not cover repairs. I will notify the States Atty General Office as well of this sham of a warranty company ripping off consumers in the state of Maryland. If you have had problems with JANUS/WARRANTECH go on line and noitify the Maryland States Aty Generals office to bring an end to this company ripping off consumers in Maryland. $5200 plus dollars required for the repairs. read more
