There were times when I thought she was skimping people on her treatments and charging ALOT of money for them. Example you can buy 1 pound of pure Titanium Dioxide powder off amazon for 18 dollars and mix it yourself and add to creams and sunscreen and she sells it for 20 dollars for a10ml. I asked her about that and she replied that her titanium dioxide was specially mixed...its not true its exactly the same. In passing once she said that some offices mix water with their botox to save on serums...I tend to wonder if she dabbles in that, how would one know? On this note, she kept upping my botox treatments saying I needed more when I really didnt. One appointment I believe she purposely left out some units of botox on some areas of my brow to help assist her in getting more units out of me. needless to say I had to go back and get more at wich point she upped the price. This last time I visited her she gave me 2 more units then usual, which I thought was odd. I have to admit that Dr. Gelber has given me some bad vibes about the way she conducts business. She raises her prices, doesn't tell you till your in her office and then expects you to pay. Not only that, if she doesn't like you she will up her prices, or she will up her prices if she knows you have money. She now even charges 100 dollars per 15 mins just to talk about your treatments after the fact. Anyways after 6 years of treatments ( two a year) ranging from 600-1k a pop, she decides to "let me go" because she had more clients in tahoe willing to pay her more and she that she thought that I was "waisting her time". She flat out told me that she needed more money out of me and because I couldn't buy more cosmetics from her (the expensive ones) that I should go else where. What a shady experience! I wouldnt normally leave a review like this but people should know, your not a patient, she doesn't care about you, she cares about your money.

The day before, we hiked Mount Tallac Trail, a strenuous 10-mile round-trip hike through Desolation Wilderness with about 3,200 feet of elevation gain. We started around 10:30 a.m. and it took us about six hours to complete. Between the heat, elevation, and intensity of the hike, we were both completely exhausted, dehydrated, cramping, and definitely in need of some serious recovery. For me, hydration is especially important. I was released from the hospital only three months ago after a six-month stay , multiple surgeries and an ileostomy , and I currently receive infusions every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday back home. Since I needed an infusion that Friday while we were in Tahoe, finding this place was perfect timing. Maggie recommended the Myers Cocktail, which ended up being exactly what we needed after such a strenuous hike. She was incredibly informative, kind, professional, and gentle. I am a notoriously difficult stick, especially when dehydrated, but Maggie got my line in with absolutely no pain and made the entire experience comfortable and easy. From start to finish, we had such a great experience. I will absolutely be back whenever I'm in the area, and hopefully we'll be lucky enough to have Maggie take care of us again! I really liked Dr. McCormack very much. She did my procedure just like I asked her to, the only…read moreissue it took months of healing time and even now I feel a twinge here and there in my implants. She did a procedure that's called a "exchange " because I had an implant that burst. I'm not sure why it did but it hurt me tremendously. I initially was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and had a double mastectomy at the time. That surgeon did a horrific job because they were incredibly tight so I had them redone in 2014 to make them smaller and just more comfortable at that point. When I started to have pain in my right implant I could tell that the implant had ruptured just because how it looked and felt. The pain is also a good indicator. I went to see Dr. McCormack at her beautiful office that has the surgery center in the same building. Great for her! Nice planning. The front desk people made sure the would not be happy to help with the insurance in anyway...My surgery would be covered since the implant burst. It was a complete pain to get them to get me the doc notes and photos. The lied to me a couple of times until I FINALLY received them. I mean 10 grand is a great vacation for me. I would never get any further procedures at this office because you barely deal with the doc just with those awful front desk persons. I get it you don't want to deal with insurance but seriously they just couldn't be bothered with my request. Annoying

She did not disclose all the details of what her recommendations would look like. Additionally, my results were the opposite of what I had hoped, and now I have to live with it every time I look in the mirror. I'm not convinced that Dr. McCormack is even concerned with her work, since I never saw her during any of my follow ups. And when I expressed my concerns during my year of healing, her staff would just try and reassure me. It's been over a year. I healed well, but the results are not good. I spent a lot of money on my surgery, but spent additional money on having to pay my bills while being off work during recovery, which I expected. With all the money I ended up paying all together, I certainly did not expect to get such poor results. And I cannot afford to go take more time off work and go back into surgery to get it fixed. When I can afford to get this fixed, I will certainly be going to a different plastic surgeon.
