Nice spot to enjoy the beautiful views of Savannah. We were looking for a roof top bar to enjoy the night views after dinner. We were recommended this spot and decided to give it a try. It's located at the top of the Hotel Peregrin, literally go inside take the elevator upstairs and boom you were there. The views at night were gorgeous, the spot captured a really nice part of town where all the lights at night on a clear day give you insight on how beautiful Savannah is. The rooftop is pretty modern with plenty of tea lights and seating space and a full-service bar on top. It was a chilly night on our visit and they had heaters all around to make sure everyone was nice and toasty while enjoying their cocktail. My fiancé ordered a glass of wine and I ordered an old fashion which was on point. We enjoyed conversation, had our drinks and enjoy the views. Their cocktail menu was great and had a bunch of different flavors to choose from. The Frozé All Day seemed to be a popular choice although we opted for the Skylark and Southpaw cocktails. This is the swankiest hotel and most chic rooftop in the city without being too boujee haha! Even though it was semi windy and chilly when we went they had fires to keep warm. I'd recommend the frozen drink Death on Credit , it's like a margarita with Dt Germain. They can do it as shaken too if you don't like frozen ...and! They will make it spicy if you ask. Probably my favorite bar in Savannah. A little higher class than a lot of places, be aware the prices do reflect that. But the quality of atmosphere and drinks is second to none downtown. I love this place. It's a great and fun spot to hang out. I can spend hours here drinking some frose and laughing with my frienda. I have one caveat to all this... while I love this place and coming here, the service is really not great and sometimes downright rude. There was one employee that my friend was asking about the food to and I don't know if he was a server or a manager but he acted all hoity toity like he was important. He talked to her and was friendly and told her they were updating their menu. Well as a yelper and influencer on ig, I wanted to ask him a few questions about it and he downright IGNORED ME. But would answer her questions. It was awful like he was extremely rude to me. Which is why I am taking my review from the previous 5 stars to 4. I am local and not a tourist. The views are amazing! The is no joke sa t to eat you, but it's not clear during events what is the beating seating option. The server was very prompt once we determined a desired location to avoid the rain. He dropped off menus and came back in a reasonable time take our drink and food orders. Unfortunately there wasn't enough seating to view the movie being shown for Halloween. The brief rain stopped the showing all together. The food took a very long to arrive and sadly when it arrived, it wasn't very good. The Perefein Burger was two very well done (dried out) patties with limited amounts of the bacon marmalade and no type of sauce, ju,or aioli. The bun bread was too thick and did nothing to aud the dryness of the sandwich. Definitely not worth the $16 price tag, each The prosecco was extremely dry, but not sweet. I should've asked before just assuming it would be sweet. The Skylarks were the best part of all that was ordered, but that's not saying much. I look forward to staying at the Perry Lane Hotwl, but dont think I'll make another trip to the Peregrin unless it's solely for drinks. read more

Went to Peregrin at the suggestion of a friend who lives in Savannah. It is the rooftop bar of a trendy hotel downtown, so I did expect it to be pricey. The food menu at the Peregrin was extremely limited and not the most inclusive for restrictions or dietary issues. I went with the lobster roll, which was good but a very small (I would say appetizer sized) portion. The drinks menu was not too different, as far as number of options (although I think they had beer and wine too). The glasses were fun and the frosé was good! The space itself is fantastic!! 5- Taste/Quality/ environment - the Froze was delicious and well made. Environment- super great! They created shade for a sunny day, it's outdoors, you really aren't gonna get a better view of Savannah 3- Price- for it being poured from a machine (plus the absolute lack of service) I think $14 for a Froze is far too overpriced while I do understand we are downtown at a rooftop bar. 1- Service- the reason I give it even a 1 is because at my last ditch effort to get myself a Mother's Day weekend treat, a gentleman who I found helped me. I stood at the bar, wallet out, card out, ID out in front of 3 bartenders for over 10 minutes with no acknowledgement, eye contact, nothing. I stood and waited - talked to the guests around me. Was patient and polite. It got to the point where the people on either side of me at the bar were getting additional drinks, and I was left standing there. The sun was just coming out and I never received a call or anything saying this restaurant was closed. I arrived and was told it is not open, and when asked to speak with the manager to confirm that we would be honored our reservations another day because they did not contact us, the manager declined to even speak with us or come down the stairs, another employee had to go back and forth to speak with us and the manager, which is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. We were told they could only honor drink reservations but not food. We never went back, there are many other rooftop bars in town with better customer service. read more

The only reason this place got any stars was simply for the view. My best friend made reservations for 7:30 pm to have pre dinner birthday drinks but when we showed up there was no hostess and one of the bar tenders told us to find a seat on the 'lawn' to be served. There were 3 servers working and we watched all of them serve the same two tables for 45 minutes (both had 6 or more people that would automatically have gratuity added) and no one ever came to take our orders. There were only 5 tables with people sitting on the lawn when we arrived, they were not that busy, and the fact that they told us to sit on the lawn to receive service and never came to our table was disappointing to say the least. We left thirsty and would only recommend this location for cute pictures. read more

I'm going to preface this with the 4 stars is more for the people watching and view of the city than it is the bar menu or service. The bar isn't huge so don't expect to get too choosy with your bourbon, rum or vodka selection, but they do indeed serve a variety of wet, cold adult beverages. We headed up to the top of the Perry Lane hotel to visit The Peregrin and quickly learned where the bar got its name. As is customary with Savannah weekends, there are usually no less than 357 weddings going on and approximately 397 bachelorette parties (studies indicate 10% of weddings don't survive the bachelorette party). We quickly found ourselves in the middle of both a bachelorette party and what remained of a wedding party. For those non-ornithologists out there, a peregrine is a member of the falcon family and well known for its high speed dives to catch prey. The name is fitting because we witnessed a lot of diving. First from the poor little fella that was trying to casually puke over the front of the wall overlooking the city and out to the river. He thought he was being slick about it, but that was one of his many missteps on the night. His attempted rescuer was a bridesmaid who seemed genuinely embarrassed by his performance and rightly so. She said "I don't think my friend is feeling very good". I said he'll probably start feeling better when gets his little brothers pants off and gets some water. Now if you're thinking "some view" - you'd be right but your forgetting about when the wind kicks up and what's left of the ol' Konnor's (probably his name and spelling) wedding dinner and Tito's and cranberry comes gently wafting back through the crowd you really feel like you've hit Bourbon Street. Not to be outdone by Konnor's dive we had Chad and Spencer (probably not really their names probably Raleigh and Brhys) eagerly pursuing several bridesmaids. I'm not sure which one had the Rohypnol, maybe both of them, but these boys were striking out like Ray Charles facing Randy Johnson. The girls kept leaving and Chad and Spence finally closed in on the one remaining bridesmaid. I honestly felt like I was in an animal planet episode watching the hyenas pursue an aging buffalo - sorry bridesmaid, I didn't mean you looked like a buffalo - she was trapped. Nowhere to go. Luckily she had already stopped drinking so their Rohypnol had been rendered useless. Much like that aging buffalo on Animal Planet, Becky Bridesmaid still had a few tricks up her sleeve. She pulled out her cell phone and said "my ride is here, I've gotta go" and just like that Chad and Spence were out of targets, so they packed up and headed out. We stuck around a little longer, but couldn't overcome the sight of Konnor tossing his wedding cookies in the bushes and more importantly the wind coming off the river kept bringing the barf scented bushes back to the crowd. We did find Chad and Spence downstairs talking to what I think in today's vernacular would be referred to as cougars. Just like Animal Planet, the hunters become the hunted. How quickly the tables can turn at The Peregrin. ******* My Standardized Yelp Ratings 5 stars - This is for a place that I see as one of the best at what they do (steaks, sandwiches, BBQ, seafood, etc). 5s are for places I've been several times (typically) at least and never had an "off" experience. The food quality, service, price and atmosphere are all going to meet or exceed expectations. 4 stars - This is for a place that is good, I would drive a little out of the way to go, and the food and service is good, but maybe not amazing. Also for me, this could also be a great place that serves Pepsi products - automatic 1 star loss - bad management decision. 3 stars - This is for a place that I view as standard. Nothing special, nothing lousy, not a place you'd avoid like the plague, but a place that is not one you really look forward to either. 2 stars - This is for a place that had something go wrong or something perpetually wrong. The food and or service is likely consistently suspect here (they probably serve Pepsi too). 1 star - I can't see wasting time writing a review on a place that gets a 1 star. This USED to be my favorite place to go in Savannah, but now you have to wait to be seated. The hostess was less than welcoming and the minute she saw we had a teenager and a 12 year old in tow, informed that we could only have a seat in the sun and that all shaded spots were taken. As we walked through the space and passed by SEVERAL shaded spots, we were seated in the direct sunlight. We decided that it wasn't worth it and left. We own a business in Savannah and in the hospitality industry and I always suggested our guests and clienrts visit the Peregrin. Those days are GONE! Great views of the city and great drinks! This is the planters punch which was a "shareable". I think this was a great deal seeing as we were able to get about 8 drinks out of it for $35 and cocktails are around $12+. So if you are with a couple friends and love a sweet rum drink definitely get this! This place also gets really packed so be prepared to stand because seating is hard to come by. read more

My only issue was that it was SUPER sunny and not nearly enough umbrellas/shaded areas. But overall, a nice place to grab a (pricey) drink. We've lived down the street from this place for about a year now, and we've visited for drinks several times. Every visit unfolds exactly the same. On each occasion, the service has been terrible. The host station is always confusing. I don't know how else to describe it, but you'll see :) Once you finally get past the host/hostess and find a spot at the bar, the fun begins. There are usually about 6 bartenders/barbacks behind the bar, and it's difficult to get anybody to make eye contact. They're really good at looking too busy to pour a beer. We usually last for one beer before we finally get fed up and close the tab, which takes a while. The view from the rooftop is the sole reason for the 2 star review. read more

If you are looking for a relaxing, well-appointed rooftop bar for relaxation, to impress visitors, or for a great date night, the Peregrin is a go to spot in downtown Savannah. Located atop the Perry Lane Hotel, the Peregrin offers casually elegant ambiance and the best views downtown Savannah. Sunsets here are amazingly beautiful, so have the camera ready. A nice selection of craft cocktails, specialty beers, and wines by the glass invites you to imbibe, just a little. I tried their take on a Vieux Carré, and it was quite tasty with balanced ingredients that suggest the bartender knows his or her way with a cocktail. A friend I was with tried one of their specialty beers, a local beer from Three Taverns, and he trounced it as perfect temperature. We must have enjoyed our libations as we were all in for a second round. Seating comes in various configurations with some low couches, bar height tables for 2 or more, chairs at the rail overlooking the cityscape. In addition, there are games to amuse oneself with if people-watching starts to bore you. I had heard that the music can get loud to overbearing, but on the Sunday evening I was there it was at a comfortable level that still permitted conversation. Service is attentive without being annoying. The Peregrin is helping to up the game in Savannah, and I am looking forward to a return visit soon. read more

Disclaimer: We were unable to experience this venue. Why? Because despite being (over)paying guests at this hotel, we did not have reservations. Mind you, they weren't seating people. These "reservations" were to stand. For standing room only. And despite there being only 9 people standing around on the spacious, two-tiered rooftop at 4:30pm, we were not allowed to get a drink or even wait to be allowed to order a drink! At our own hotel?! And I understand the need for these rules and social distancing; I'm a physician. I get it. But what I don't understand is enforcing rules that either are unnecessary or illogical. Trust me: I can drink a $30 flute of Veuve by the tacky plastic boxwood hedge while maintaining 10 feet or more from my nearest fellow human without being a danger to humanity. I shouldn't need a reservation to drink overpriced alcohol on the roof of a hotel at which I'm paying to stay the weekend. So, we went to 4 other hotel rooftop bars and managed to remain plague-free. And moving our stay to the Mansion on Forsyth Park was our best decision of the weekend. More expensive does not connote a better accommodation. Pity, really. read more
