I looked up local fence repair on Yelp and filled out the quote form on their website. Within minutes I got a call from them! (I must have gotten very lucky with my timing. Please don't expect unrealistic instant replies every time.) They were available to go out there that day to take a look and give me an estimate. Being a shared fence we coordinated with my neighbor. Kingdom is very professional. They had a formal agreement, an itemized invoice, and you can pay through Intuit Quickbooks online. You pay a 10% deposit before the start and the rest at the end of the project. Be aware there is a 3% charge for using card. But you can use ACH to avoid it. They also split the invoice between my neighbor and I. The day of the project start they recommended using steel posts instead of wooden posts due to the weight of the panels. No additional charge. They even took the time to paint the steel posts on my side black to match the panels! I called on Wednesday and by Saturday the fence was repaired! Thank you Kingdom Gates and Fences!

You left so many times, had plywood trying to block the entrance for a week because your person making the skeleton gate apparently couldn't work. You had two ex-cons sitting around doing nothing while you were gone. You then fired them because they didn't know anything. Then, as luck would have it, you finally finished weeks past the original date, yet the gate wasn't fit properly and had to come back. Your shitty attitude for asking you to fix the noisy gate you just charged us for was really a nice touch. And yes, you asked for cash the DAY you came to collect. The IRS has you on their radar. The entire 24-foot fence project took just over four hours. We had received another quote from a handyman that was significantly higher and did not include a warranty. G & G Deck & Fence's pricing was very reasonable, and the fact that their work is backed by a warranty gave us added confidence. The quality of the work is excellent--the fence looks clean, sturdy, and very well built. Overall, I'm very happy with the results and would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

We've had them for a…read morefew weeks now and still every time I pass through them, I applaud myself for having found FCR Fence & Deck and having had the wisdom to move forward with their company. From beginning to end the experience was great. I'd reached out to multiple companies, planning to take numerous bids, but amazingly found that few were unresponsive. FCR on the other hand was quick to respond to my inquiry on their website Contact page and were quick to set up the estimate appointment. The downside was I needed to wait two weeks. In the meantime I met the Project Manager from another company and was pleased with the experience, except that I never received a bid even though we texted several times. Rob Quinlan from FCR was similarly on time, but his amiability, professionalism, and communication, both in person and in subsequent texts, set him apart. He has excellent follow through, too, as our gates attest! He also really knows the ins and out of gates. When I said I wanted ours to be pushed open from the street side, Rob asked if we had a pool. It turns out that if one has a swimming pool, the gate legally has to swing out to the street. Rob explained that pulling a heavy gate is harder for little kids than pushing it, making it less likely they can access a backyard and drown! I was so impressed with Rob that I told him then and there that I wanted to move ahead with FCR. I received the quote and a contract later that day. It showed the options for the two different types of Redwood. Rob had explained that the photos one sees of beautiful fences are always made of the more expensive wood, from the heart of the tree. I had said that was the one I wanted, but it was still great to see options and prices laid out. I was able to sign the contract electronically. It was another two weeks before the actual installation, but the day of the work was fast and smooth. The crew and Rob arrived separately and on time. We all discussed every detail afresh, this time with Hector and Paco weighing in with their own expertise. There was some discussion among the men as to how and where to install the posts for the new double gate so that it would stay strong for the long term. I was consulted as well and made it clear that longevity and easy operation were paramount to me. I also mentioned that I was nervous about the possibility of there being a pipe to the house in that area, one that was private and therefore not marked by the utility companies. (Rob had done his company's legal duty of arranging the 8-1-1 Dig Ticket ahead of the work day). Rob took me seriously and walked out to the sidewalk, saw that there was indeed a drainage outlet there and told Hector to dig slowly and attentively. Rob left for the day and Hector and Paco got to work. Hector did find the water pipe about 12" down, right where the post was supposed to go. He had me come out and see the situation. He gave me two options: place the post over the pipe, in which case it would lack endurance for the long term, or go two feet down in the hole he had already dug closer to the house. I opted for the deep hole and the reliable fence. I was glad to have been consulted. I was grateful for Hector's having found the pipe without damaging it. Both gates and the small fence surrounding them were completed between 8am and 3pm. The areas were all cleaned up. Hector had me come out and assess the work. The gates have easy and sturdy hardware on them. They open and close with ease, swinging into the backyard as specified. They're attractive, substantial, and show every sign of enduring. I knew from the good communication that I could simply hand the check to Hector. Rob was going to come by to make sure I was happy but I said I was exceedingly pleased and insisted he didn't need to. He followed up with a text nevertheless to double check and I gave him a glowing, detailed review. Later that day I received an invoice showing I had paid. I couldn't be any happier than to have trusted this work to FCR Fence & Deck.

Right Way was one of the easiest calls I made, and they had someone available in their office to schedule me for a free estimate that day. Couldn't argue with that. My tech, Connor, was driving all around the area, but called me when he was leaving Napa to let me know an approximate arrival time, and he was nearly on time getting here. At first, he wasn't sure about the issue, and he was straightforward about that. He told me what he thought was wrong (a crack in a panel), but the crack was really hard to find. He also let me know that my system was probably past its prime, said some of the issues I was having went along those lines, and explained to me that getting a new door (which I was going to need anyway) would require me to get a new motor as well due to legal changes since the door was initially installed. He gave me four different estimates for door and motor combinations, left me with a good packet of literature on my options, and made sure that my email address was correct before he left so that he could send me the estimates. The next morning, I received a follow up text from someone in their office offering me an additional discount from what was previously sent to me. Unfortunately, that offer never came through in email, and I ultimately went with another company for the installation that came in quite a bit under their pricing. Honestly, I believe even if the email had come through, the additional discount still would not have brought the price down enough to change my mind, but I was very impressed with the service I received. I would recommend checking in with Right Way for garage door needs as an option, and if their service for you was as good as it was for me, I'd hope you'd feel good hiring them.

I am *really* fussy about hiring contractors. So many of them conduct their business sloppily and…read moreunprofessionally I can't believe they stay in business at all. So I do my research and am VERY selective in who I hire when our house needs work. My wife and I hired Andy Fernandes and Adval and they proved to be the real deal. Andy was *always* prompt - every time he or anyone from his company was scheduled to arrive they arrived early. Andy and his crew were communicative, clearly very knowledgeable, and straightforward, which is to say that they told me *and showed me* what was really happening and not what they wanted to promise or what they thought we wanted to hear. And they followed through exactly as they said they would. The quality of their work was outstanding. We had a few kitchen cabinets that had gotten damaged by the 2014 Napa quake and were looking like they were going to fall off the wall. Andy sent over a master carpenter (he spent years building stuff for moneyed people on Martha's Vineyard, who can be quite demanding) who didn't "upsell" us by telling us one of the cabinets needed to be rebuilt (the build cabinet in their own shop), he showed us in detail exactly what the problem was and convinced skeptical me that a new cabinet built from real plywood instead of the particle board of the cabinets the flipper who sold us the house had installed was the way to go. They reused the facing from the old cabinets, so the match was immaculate. Price-wise, yeah, they weren't the cheapest I could have found, but they were most definitely not close to the high end, they were right in the ballpark, and I figure if I demand quality I have to be wiling to pay for it. And we most decidedly got what we paid for. I repeat again that I am VERY picky about contractors, but I unhesitatingly give Adval Construction my highest recommendation. Our job was pretty small, but I would hire them for a big job in a heartbeat. This is the way construction contracting is supposed to work.

We hired Adval construction to repaint our kitchen, bathroom, and hallway linen cabinets. Our old…read morecabinets were dark and gloomy, and we wanted a refreshed look. While we are overall happy with the final product, there were some pros and cons along the way Pros: - Hiring Adval was a pretty seamless process. We requested a quote and within a week, Camila the consultant/designer came for an inspection of our area, measurement, and go over samples for a free quote - Since my husband and I didn't want to be around paint fumes, it took us a few months to schedule the project in tandem with a trip out of town. Adval respected that and didn't push; they simply had us let Debbie know when we were ready - While we were out of town, the painters Ana and Jeff were very respectful of our place. We had cameras setup for security, and they always cleaned up after themselves, turned off our lights, and ensured our doors were locked each day they were on site. They even helped bring in our trash bins after trash day! Cons: - Adval wasn't the most affordable in comparison to other quotes we received. However, we chose them anyway because their process and communication seemed the most thorough (in the beginning) - Since we had the work done while we were out of town, scheduling with the GC Pedro for repairs and touchups was a bit of a struggle as they were already busy with other projects - It was not made clear how EASILY new paint on the cabinets could get scratched and damaged. We had pre-existing rollout drawers in our bottom cabinets and they scratched the doors so quickly. In addition, some areas (drawer/cabinet edges and corners) have already chipped. We wish Camila elucidated this information to us when we were debating painting vs refacing and that Ana/Jeff/Pedro gave us care instructions for the new paint when they initially finished the project - There were a few doors that were clearly damaged prior to painting (corners were broken off/chipped but then the door was still painted over); Pedro ended up picking up these doors and they repaired them at their warhouse - It took about 2 months from the time we returned from our trip/initial paint completion to the final completion of the project (between scheduling, Pedro taking the damaged doors back to the warehouse to have repainted/repaired, and Ana/Jeff returning for reinstallation and final touch ups; the final reinstall was rescheduled on their end 3 times which was slightly annoying) - We changed our mind after initial completion from financing to paying the remaining balance in full. However, something must not have been communicated because the Synchrony account was activated and we didn't know until they charged us a late fee due to missing the first payment. We were able to get the late fee waived and ended up just paying off the balance through Synchrony. Again, annoying. Overall, even with the roller coaster of our simple project, the entire team at Adval was always respectful. They were quick to respond to my texts/calls and showed professionalism in their work. I appreciated that they were responsive and accountable. We are just disappointed in how fragile the final product is and we weren't properly informed.

We contracted Pereira Fencing to replace 295 feet of redwood fencing that was either old and leaning, or totally blown down by the massive windstorm we had in the Bay Area around Thanksgiving. Luis and his crew came by and did an AWESOME job. They removed the old fence and replaced it with a sturdy new redwood one that is 100x better than the original, and it is so strong it will probably survive any type of windstorm we will ever encounter in the future ! Luis is a professional to the nth degree. His work ethics are impeccable and he doesn't cut corners or try to impress you with bling that looks good but won't last. He uses quality products, professional techniques and keeps you informed of the status every step of the way. The work area was kept clean and safe, and he even graciously installed a temporary fence to keep the neighbor's dog in their yard so he would not wander into ours, or out to the street while the posts were curing in the concrete before the slats could go up. The job was originally scheduled to take 4 days, but Luis, Ned and Kyle finished it in about 2 1/2 days. They were incredible. Even with sub-freezing temperatures each morning, they were still able to work and keep the project moving. We have received a lot of positive comments from our neighbors and those passing by walking their dogs or children. That's how good the job was. I would HIGHLY recommend Pereira Fencing to anyone. Luis is a dedicated, conscientious person who loves his trade. He is professional and affable, and from what I could gather during his time on our project - very high in demand. He will give you a fair and competitive estimate for your job, but his workmanship and ethics will more than exceed your expectations. Luis reviewed the project in advance, gave me a prompt estimate on the spot, followed by an email quote that next morning. My scheduled work was just completed on June 2nd. The fencing which is board on board picture frame style in redwood is exceptional. Luis built an arched gate to enter the backyard that looks great! Luis truly is as good as it gets! He was responsive, reliable and respectful. We contacted him in December to get a quote, which was lower than all the others we received and due to negotiations with the neighbors weren't able to get back to him until March, but he was gracious and was able to fit us in about a week later. He estimated that it would take 3 days but was able to get it done in 2. During demo, he took our pile of tree limbs we were waiting to take to the dump (bonus!) and at the end of the job he swept our patio free of debris. The fence looks wonderful and he was so gracious that you could really tell he appreciated our business. I've since recommended him to our friends and family. Luis is very dependable. I hired him to do two jobs. Both jobs, as soon as I contacted him, he responded with an email and made arrangements to come out and check out my fencing needs. Once I got a bid which comes with a 15 year warranty, we set up a time that he promptly arrived at. The work is impeccable and he left the job site all cleaned up. He works without stopping and leaves behind a beautiful looking fence. I tried calling several fence companies and individuals which indicated they were licensed but when I checked with the State of California, they are not. Not only is that dishonest, that is against the law and puts the homeowner in a precarious situation if something goes wrong. For the second time in the past year, we called on Luis Pereira to do some work for us, and once again, we are thoroughly pleased with the results. This time he replaced a collapsing section of fence bordering a neighboring yard and also replaced our back-yard deck. On the day he came to offer an estimate, he called me to let me know he was running about 20 minutes late -- a small courtesy, but how many companies even bother to do that? His estimate included a detailed description of the job and the materials that would be used. The job was completed ahead of schedule, and we were quite satisfied with the work. Pereira fencing was a great company to work with. The owner, Luis, was very professional and prompt when he came out for our quote to replace a very long fence that was surrounded by vegetation. We promptly received the quote and were able to schedule a time that worked for us to have the fence put up. We had a beautiful redwood fence put up in a couple days, and they left the yard better then they found it. He even made sure to place some new supports near our pool fence and connected our pool fence to the new fence. He wanted to make sure our fence was secure and would protect our 4 year old daughter. I generally do these types of jobs myself, but I have a rental property and didn't want to inconvenience my tenants by having a partial fence for a couple of weekends. So, I looked around and based on the high ratings here at Yelp, contact Pereira Fencing. The bid was competitive, and I liked Luis both personally and professionally (he made a point of describing some details of his service -- mounded concrete around the posts, screws instead of nails, etc) and so selected him for the job. He showed up on time, completed a 60' fence in about 6 hours, and left a clean jobsite. My neighbor has now retained him for a couple of additional fences. I would definitely recommend him to my friends, and use him again myself. read more

I have used Luis three times in the last two years. Once to replace my shared rear fence and the second time to replace two gates. He is now replacing my uphill shared fence. He has always been on time and worked hard every time. I injured my back with the latest install and couldn't clear the vegetation from the fence line. He pulled it for me and didn't add anything to my bill. He always cleaned up after the work was done. He started and finished his project on time. I would definitely recommend his company for any fencing work. The fences and gates are beautiful and he only uses nails and screws. Luis at Pereira Fencing is a perfect example of how a contractor should operate his business. When I contacted him he replied extremely quickly and came out to give me an estimate. Before he arrived he even called 30 minutes before to let me know he was on his way. He was extremely professional and answered all of my questions. This company is top notch! They came on the day scheduled, they arrived on time, they said they'd work rain or shine! They worked a lot in the rain! They were very respectful of my foliage near the fence area. Nothing was damaged! They left the yard neat and clean each day! They smoothed out my decomposed granite paths when done, as they'd left deep footprints in them due to the rains. No footprints were there after they were done! They were polite, answered my questions, worked diligently and I'm now the owner of beautiful fencing along two long sides of my yard that had been felled by a storm! Luis was wonderful to work with. I sent him an email and he responded right away. He came out the next day and gave me an estimate. I wasn't the easiest to work with due to requesting multiple quotes with different wood/style types. At one point I asked for a quote for only one section of my fence and he promptly sent it to me even though I realized after the fact that he had already included the break down in the previous quote. What a great experience! Luis calls right back, makes appointment for estimate, calls ahead to let me know he is on the way. After talking with me and taking measurements, he sends me the estimate the same day via e-mail. His bid was less than the other company I had out. I schedule appointment to have the work done and he arrives on times, well prepared. Work is done in a couple of days and he makes any last-minute minor adjustment after I inspect the work. Just got 68 feet of fence put in it was 3100 dollars total, but we split the cost with the neighbors. The price included removing the old fence and taxes. The fence is beautiful and each board is cut precisely to fit so that I can not even tell that there is anyone on the other side! Just be prepared that he will not work the weekends and will not bring his crew until he sees personally that the deal is settled between the two neighbors. It makes sense because I can imagine that he has probably had to deal with miscommunication a bit. read more

Luis replaced two sections of wooden fencing along with two gates. He arrived on time, did an exceptional job, and the quality of workmanship was outstanding. He and his assistant were very professional. The hardware used on the gates was of high quality. We appreciate his attention to the smallest detail. They went the extra mile and removed a couple of bushes and added dirt under our stepping stones to level out the walking path that ran under one of the gates. My back fence needed replacing and Luis responded to my e-mail quickly and came out and gave me an estimate. I had a lot of overhanging tree limbs in the way and Luis told me if I didn't get them all cut by the time he returned to start the fencing, he would take care of it. Not only does the new fence look great, Luis did an excellent job, arrived on time (actually 15 minutes early), worked throughout the day and left the yard clean. A very professional job. We love our beautiful new redwood fence! We emailed Luis and he came out and gave us a quote. We needed to replace a gate and the length of fence facing the street. Luis and another guy took away the old fence, dug new post holes, constructed the new fence, cleaned up afterwards, and now we have a quality fence, guaranteed for fifteen years. It was AB Fencing. Our neighbors wanted to replace the shared fence, so it fell to me to do a search. AB was top of my list, but I also wanted to get 5 comparative quotes. The first one was a non-starter, but the other four came out, and we discussed what could and should be done. After putting all 5 quotes into a spreadsheet, AB came out on top. With one area that made a special request on, AB was almost half off a couple of the quotes. Alfonso started the job when he said he would. He talked us through where and how he would do things and the stages of taking down the old fence and putting the new one up. He really powered through it, and the new fence looks amazing. He had some steep terrain to deal with, but did it all much faster than expected. The end result is amazing. We have an entirely new backyard. Behind us is a greenspace, and the new fence with the hogwire opens it up much more than the previous fence. He also added a gate so we can maintain the weeds and a bit of a firebreak. The one thing I wanted was a secure fence so my pups couldn't get under it and other critters couldn't come into our yard. There have been gaps under the fence since they completed the job. They basically told us it was on us to secure the bottom of the fence. Despite all of our efforts we were unable to stop my neighbors critters from coming under it. We had to our our own rod type wall to try to prevent issues but no success. So this morning one of the neighbors rabbits came under the fence with the wide gaps and my dogs killed it.
