If you're looking for instructors who genuinely care about children, I highly recommend choosing The Little Gym over Perfect Balance. While the monthly cost at The Little Gym may be slightly higher, the overall experience is significantly better. My son is three years old, and like many children his age, listening is still a skill we're working on. I initially thought Perfect Balance would be a great place for him to develop new skills and improve focus. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. During one class, the instructor became visibly irritated when my son got distracted or didn't follow instructions. At the end of class, she had him line up with the other children to receive a stamp for participation. She even dipped the stamp in the ink pad, only to look him in the eye and tell him he wasn't getting a stamp because he hadn't listened. I understand the importance of teaching children accountability, but I strongly believe the instructor's approach was unnecessarily petty and inappropriate for a three-year-old. If she felt it was important for him not to receive a stamp, she could have spoken to me directly. I would have respected that. But having him go through the motions--only to publicly deny him a small reward--felt more like punishment than a teaching moment. Because of this experience, I ended our membership effective immediately. We will continue going to The Little Gym, where the instructors are patient, supportive, and understand that children--especially toddlers--have good and bad days. They work with him, not against him. One final thought for any parent considering Perfect Balance: my son also participates in Soccer Shots, where I regularly see other three-year-olds wander off, lose focus, or struggle to follow instructions. Yet, at the end of practice, those children still receive stamps and stickers--not because they performed perfectly, but because they showed up and tried. Why? Because they're three, they're still learning and that deserves encouragement, not shame. read more

The BEST!! PBTC is a great place for young girls to learn gymnastics! The coaches are wonderful and help build a love for this sport!

Perfect Balance isn't just the name of this gymnastics center, it's the theory about life they teach to these young, impressionable athletes. They don't just teach poise on the balance beam, vault, floor or uneven bars they teach these athletes about having grit, grace and balance in the way you live your life as an athlete and as a family who brings their athlete to the center. My daughter transfered to Perfect Balance from another team. The facility is great and they have skilled coaches. However, we experienced a major lack of communication. I often had a difficult time connecting with team coaches and management to discuss my daughter's current and future team goals. We've had errors with fee charges to my on file credit card. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly, but were often unknowledgeable. When I would ask questions at the front desk, I was often told to call the gym. But when I would call, was the staff that was able to help me was rarely available and wouldn't receive calls back. When I emailed, I often wouldn't received responses for days, if at all. We have been with this gym since the beginning and can not recommend it enough. The competitive team coaches are phenomenal in pushing the gymnasts to the best of their ability but not breaking their spirit. The coaches don't just worry about the girls as gymnasts but as people. They teach the girls how to be strong leaders who support each other when they succeed as well as when they fail. We love Perfect Balance and couldn't be happier. This review is regarding the daily toddler time at 11:30. We went quite a few times with my two boys. It is 5 dollars per child, so $10 a visit. It is from 11:30, to 12:30 Monday through Friday. My toddlers had a pretty good time, but I found it really not to be toddler proof at all. The staff was quite unfriendly when my18 month old wandered into one of the 7 open office doors located adjacent to the gym. The receptionist/manager was actually pretty rude to be blunt. The staff are much nicer and friendlier at other gymnastic places that have toddler hours(and with better times and less expensive). I usually don't write reviews, but felt compelled to in this situation. This is a place that is charging for play catered to toddlers, perhaps either better toddler proof or hire someone to work during toddler hour that has a better disposition with the younger child/ Mom crowd! read more

Last Spring my daughter tried out for team and tried a couple of practices. When my daughter was evaluated they felt she was more suited to the AAU program so we scheduled a tryout practice. I was put in contact with the AAU director. When I showed up for the practice the following week there was a new AAU director. At the end of the tryout practice, I was told by the office staff that the AAU director would email me details about the program and give feedback for my daughter. By Friday when I had not heard from anyone, I sent an email to the AAU director. I then received an email from the owner of the gym Hannah and she apologized and said I was should have received an email the day after the practice. She then offered my daughter a spot and gave me the contact for another new AAU director. So they had 3 different AAU directors in less than 3 weeks. This is the only reason we decided not to choose the gym. I think they have a great program and phenomenal gymnasts. I wish we would have had a better experience. read more

Such a great training facility! My daughter LOVES the instructors and is excited every week for her class. Its a bit busy and distracting with so many age and skill ranges having class at one time. However, the instructors are great at keeping the kids' attention and focus. We really love it here, and are excited to see how our daughter's skill grow over time with PBTC. read more
