Seeing as the caterpillars called my eyebrows were starting to emerge again, I found myself coming to Perfect Eyebrows Threading Salon to get them back into shape. I decided to give this place a shot, as it's closer to where I live as well as has high ratings and low prices. I saw online that the store opens at 10:30 AM, so arriving at 10:34 AM would have meant I would be the first customer, but I saw the store was closed. I saw another woman standing outside, and she turned out to be an employee of Perfect Eyebrows. She said the person with the key is running a bit late, but would be here "any minute". So I told her that it wasn't a problem and proceeded to wait with her. While waiting for the other employee to show up, she told me the store opened at 10AM, and not 10:30AM. I nodded my head politely but was surprised that it wasn't open after 30 mins of when it was supposed to open. The clock was ticking, and before I knew it, it's 10:50 AM. I ask her if there is any update on the other employee, but she keeps telling me "any minute now", like she has been doing for the past 15 minutes. Finally around early 11AM, we see the other employee pull up from an Uber and open the store with her key. She started venting about how bad "the traffic is", as it took her an hour to get there, when she was expecting 10 minutes. After waiting half an hour outside due to the second employee's tardiness, I finally got my eyebrows done by the employee who stood outside with me. I made sure to ask for her to keep the arch I have in my eyebrows and just do a simple clean up, and she did so! Even though it has been a month without threading my eyebrows, it didn't feel too painful! She was still very precise and detailed with crafting my eyebrows and even my upper lip too, which we did later on. Threading of the upper lip and eyebrows ended up costing $13, which is still a great deal, especially in New York! As I walked out, the late employee apologized to me, almost in a pleading manner. Overall, Perfect Eyebrow Threading Salon is a great place to get one's eyebrows (or other body parts) threaded! They handle their customers with great care. My only con is their tardiness. I don't understand how someone can get away with coming in with the key to open up the shop at 11AM, even though they say they open at 10AM. read more

When I came the other day for her to tint away the grey out my eyebrows, I had a fight to stay awake for the music so soothing. That alone was worth the trip and a handsome tip. On top of that she had voice that could lull you a lulluby so serene. Her technique unique at first seemed peculiar. When she was done with my brows looked all done like I was trying so hard. I didn't look at them again a few days had passed when the brows called at me in fact. They looked polished, trimmed, well coiffed like a gentleman's kinda youthful no grey, natural-black look. I've been going here on and off for 5 years. The off part is because I moved away and had a baby (not much time). However, through the years the owners have been nothing but professional. I came here because my sister found it and loved the price and results. I've been here about 6x now but recently I've tried coming here after work to get threaded and I get turned away because there's only one employee and she's already doing a facial. That's happened twice now. And then this most recent time, I walked away with an okay shape but a lot of cuts on the right side of my face that will heal with scabs. Not just nicks here and there but actual cuts. I probably won't be back for awhile unfortunately. UPDATE: I went back just to give it one more try and got he original woman who got my sister and I to fall in love this joint originally, unfortunately she gave me a lot of cuts this time and when she tinted my lashes I told her it was starting to burn and she reassured me that "a stinging is okay" and it was totally not worth it. She then rubbed the excess dye around my eyes off with a rough paper towel on my actually lids which was VERY uncomfortable. read more

I live in Queens and coming from all the way from there to get my eyebrows threaded was a big deal. But these people are there only to help. Went to the salon yesterday and met Pawan the owner who is a sweet lady. The salon is not very big but it is clean and cozy tucked away on 116th street. DO NOT TRUST THESE WOMEN! I have been going since I lived in Harlem....four years. Due to some leaving I've changed threaders 3 times. This last one had been doing my eyebrows for over a year. I hadn't gone in a month and a half. I showed her a picture of me and as usual said keep them thick. I noticed I was in the chair longer than usual. She never showed me her work until later. Usually she'll check in halfway. I knew something was wrong because it hurt more than usual. Instincts were right. She said she needed to take off another line of my eyebrows. WHO DOES THAT WITHOUT ASKING??? ESPECIALLY IF I NEVER DID THAT BEFORE. Currently my eyebrows look very thin and they take a very long time to grow back. I'm pissed. When you walk in, you are greeted pleasantly with smiles and genuinely asked how you are doing. Rina took time to assess my eyebrows before she began, checking multiple times throughout the threading to make sure both eyebrows were even. The result was FLAWLESS--much more than I can say for some other places I have been throughout the years. No complaints and I definitely plan on coming here from now on!! I love this salon, it's an absolutely hidden gem in Harlem, on 116th and it's pretty small, but worth finding. I always get my brows , and other hairy places on my face, done by Ritu, and she's lovely and so gentle and altogether perfect, I cannot recommend her highly enough. I have very blonde brows and they are very fine and she has never made a mistake with them, even slightly. I have had a facial, also with Ritu, and that was fantastic , my skin looked flawless and the prices are terrific. I also live in Los Angeles, I'm an actress, and I make sure to get my brows done here before I head to the West Coast, because , even in LA, I cannot find anyone who does as good a job . Oh, you only have to look at Ritu's own eyebrows to know that everyone here does a good job, hers are flawless, and I asked her once who did them and it was another woman in the salon. Being a man, it can sometimes be challenging to find an esthetician to properly clean me up without making my eyebrows look too feminine. The eyebrow service is fast, friendly, clean and affordable. I live about 20 block north of this salon and tried a few places in between. This is my go to spot for chin and neck hair because it's less painful and no post hair bumps like other places. Perhaps I will try the brows one day but I still have flash backs from 1994 when a woman waxed my brows into vulcan brows.
