I've been coming here for about a year now. My main reason was that the regular wax that's used at these small beauty salons were not good for my skin. I'm not allergic to anything but for the most part I would breakout. I figured I would give the Hutchinson location a try since it's very close by and I'm so glad I did. They are very professional, clean and friendly. My go to ladies are Dominique and Crystal. They always make me feel so welcomed and the whole experience with them is always so relaxing. I usually get my eyebrows, upper lip and Brazilian wax with them and they always do a phenomenal job. If it's your first time, the girls will give you a step by step of what they are doing so you can feel comfortable and there's no surprises. I highly recommend this place. I've been coming to this location for a while, and while my wax specialist, Danielle, is excellent and always provides great service, I'm disappointed by the overall cleanliness of the facility. The treatment rooms often appear dirty, with floors that look like they haven't been properly swept or mopped and countertops that could use more regular cleaning and sanitizing. In a personal care business where hygiene is so important, the condition of the rooms should be a higher priority. I don't place the blame on the wax specialists themselves. From what I understand, they are expected to maintain and clean their own rooms in addition to serving clients, which seems like an unrealistic expectation. Management should consider hiring a dedicated cleaning team to regularly maintain the treatment rooms and common areas. Having professional cleaners come in several times a week would help ensure the facility consistently meets the cleanliness standards customers expect. The staff is friendly, and Danielle does an amazing job, but the overall upkeep of the facility needs improvement. read more

On the advice of my wax therapist my appt was scheduled for July 6 @9 am. Then it was cancelled for my therapist and I was given another therapist Danielee for 9:15 whom I awaited for 30 minutes only to be told she was a no call no show. I want to hope she is well however other customers stated this is a pattern that has not been addressed I advised the receptionist if I were her boss she would be fired on the spot as that is very unprofessional and lacks a good work ethic. Another customer stated it was her birthday week which having another year of life is amazing however professionally should have called out the proper way. Allegedly I hear she is one of the top waxers but shouldn't be so cocky to think she is the be all to and all. For a franchise business to allow such behavior is unacceptable. I want to add Tay at the front desk was trying very hard to see the status of Daniellee and quickly fit me in with Melissa who was amazing and professional. Melissa took me in between her clients with no hesitation and I truly appreciate her for accommodating me as I am leaving to Europe on a cruise. My go-to to get my eyebrows and wooha neatly waxed. They are usually super quick and follow covid guidelines. The staff is friendly and I've gotten waxed with several different staff members already. Too many names to list favorites. Afterwards, go shopping in the mall at target or other stores, get Starbucks, then get a mani/pedi, and meal at the restaurants nearby and turn the wax day into a whole spa relaxing day. I've been going to European Wax Center for almost a year now and I plan on sticking to it until I am brave enough to get laser hair removal. The receptionists at this location are friendly and always willing to assist you. They also call clients a day in advance to ensure that you're coming in for your appointment. I've had a bad wax experience at this location (by a tech that I won't name) so I highly recommend going to Marie or Jean Marie for your Brazilian wax. Marie is my normal wax tech, she is very efficient and is sure to leave you completely hairless. She also keeps good conversation which distracts me from the pain. Let me start off by saying I don't get waxed as much as I should and that's my fault. Second this review is not all bad and honestly my experience was great at EWC until I got home. I had went in to EWC to get a Full Brazilian about a week before my Birthday seeing as I was going away I wanted to get my Brazilian early so if I wanted to partake in any water activities I would be okay to do so. I was greeted by the ladies at the front desk and sat down for about 5 minutes until my room was ready. My room was clean and the lady doing my wax was nice and we talked the whole time which made it hurt less. Once my wax was over and I stood up I noticed there was blood on the table where I was laying. I stated my concerns and she stated it was normal. Even though it was something I had never experienced I thought maybe since I had not gotten waxed in about 5 months she was right. I cleaned myself up paid and went to continue my day. When I got home I felt very uncomfortable so I grabbed a mirror and checked out down there. I almost cried because I had two huge open slits on both sides of my vagina. I immediately called the EWC and they issued me a refund for my service. I was upset that throughout our whole conversation my waxer had not mentioned that she had cut me or I was bleeding and she just proceeded on. I felt after the first cut she should have told me and let me decide if I wanted to go through with the rest of the wax. It took about 3 weeks and a lot of care for the cuts to fully heal and close up. And they did leave a scar. I will not be returning to EWC as this was my second time and I was not totally pleased on both occasions. read more

I starting coming to this wax center in October 2017. I was originally going to the one in Lawrence,NY but have since moved. I was a bit nervous having to start anew because I like being comfortable and knowing exactly who to go too for services, especially for a Brazilian. They gave me Alison, and I've never switched esthetician's since! Alison is very pleasant, attentive, and respectful. We had real conversation to the point where once she was done it was like I'd only been there 5-10mins. Alison makes sure to remove every piece of hair. Amazing Experience!!! First, I want to start of by saying the service in this location is more than excellent. When I had first came in to schedule my appointment I was greeted immediately and properly by two wonderful ladies at the front. I was actual speaking to the manager of the location and they were both so sweet and very informative. I was able to make my appointment and I was set. The week of my appointment my monthly friend (ladies you know who I am talking about) decided to arrive early and I was not comfortable getting a Brazilian wax with my period so I had called to reschedule. I spoke to a lovely and very professional lady on the phone and she changed my date to the following week. I had went early in the morning and was greeted by the lovely lady named "Allison" who will be taking care of me. Allison was beyond perfect, I was a little concerned about the wax because I have sensitive skin but she made sure that I was comfortable and well informed about the process. I knew she was trying to distract me from the pain by having conversation with me and it had definitely worked, of course it wasn't painless but I was calm and laughing the whole time. Allison was so sweet, funny, professional and very careful. I would definitely recommend her to everyone and I will be coming again to her. Now Covid Regulations!! They follow all of the procedures!! This is my second visit to EWC. My first visit was pretty okay I went to one of the locations downtown. I was excited to know there was a location by me in the Bronx so I made an appointment for a brazilian at the Hutchinson location for this past Monday on 8/20. I didn't have a recommended wax specialist so I let them choose for me. The woman I saw was June, where do I begin. I'm a black woman, I'm assuming June felt comfortable enough to talk to me as if we were friends on the block. Which I wouldn't mind if I actually knew her and we had already established a friendship. "Did you listen to Nicki's album?" I was caught off guard (why assume I listened to hip hop) but this was her FIRST question for me but a harmless one. I answered "yes and I like it", we continued to talk about Nicki's Minaj's music. Then she says " N***as think Drake is cute, but I don't think so". This was awkward, how do you know I'm okay with the N word? Why is it okay to talk like this to any client no matter how cool they may seem. Also, while this is happening she put wax on me that was hot. I mentioned it to her and her response was "It just feels warm because I went over the same area twice." *blank face* I've been waxing for years so if its hot its hot. Keep in mind, I also heard her mumbling to herself that the wax was too warm to herself before she got started. I was not in a predicament to get up and walk out while I'm in the middle of a butterfly position on a table with wax on me. I just wanted this to be done. June finally finishes and I look up in the long mirror next to the table and I have big patches of wax on both my outer thighs with more in between my legs. I've been going to Bliss for years and even on my first visit at EWC downtown she made sure I was clear of wax. As I'm wiping myself in the mirror in front of her, her response was "Have you waxed anywhere else before?" As if I should expect to be left with huge amounts of wax on me. The reason why I gave this 2 stars is that at least she was able to remove all of my hair without any burns considering the hot wax and the unprofessional conversation. DON'T SEE SEMINA!!!!!!!!!!! So originally I made a last minute appointment and saw all the great reviews about Marie and booked with her. An hour before my appointment I get a call that she's not available. I'm already dressed and had it in my head I was going so they said they will give me another person. So I get Semina. Everything was cool. Conversations going smooth. Then she ask me if I exfoliate. I told her to be honest I haven't like how I should. Then I look down at my vagina and it looked like how it did when I first started waxing. I told her I never had this happen to me. Her defense is that she's been waxing for 11 years. Now I've been getting waxed for years. My primary waxer told me that she uses powder because I sweat. Semina never put any on. So I told her to try it. Why as soon as she did the hairs she claimed were too short came out. I wish I had read the two other complaints about her before seeing her. I'm also glad I've been waxing for years. And I'm just keep going to the person I usually do. read more

I went here for the first time about three weeks ago. My wax was average - the wax didn't leave me feeling as smooth as i wanted. She didn't take off all my hair and the product they sold me really hasn't done what it was supposed to. What really took this experience from mediocre to poor was that they overcharged me for an underarm wax that was supposedly on special. They didn't tell me that changed and I called about 15 minutes after I left when i noticed I was charged more than promise and the front desk receptionist said only her manager could handle it but she left a note for the manager. It's been three weeks and I still haven't heard anything. Poor customer service. read more

Okay so I'm giving this place a full 5 star rating because I booked an appointment last minute on the app and it was super easy no trouble at all. I came in a little early and the waiting area is cute with a few products you can look at and try while you wait (lotions and stuff). Luckily for me, Jillian gave me my first Brazilian wax and I cannot fathom how quick, smooth, and enjoyable it actually was. Did I mention practically pain free? From the moment I walked into the room she made sure I was comfortable and continued making sure my comfort was highest priority by keeping conversations going and always asking if I was okay after each strip. They have package options as well for both men and women. I personally always go for brazillian, underarm and full leg, but would gladly wax my entire body! I live close to this place and ive decided to give brazillian waxing a try. My first experience was with elaina, i got her name from google reviews. She made my first experience as easy going as possible despite it hurting as a first timer. She made sure i was calm and left satisfied. My second experience was with diana, she gets to the point and helps the nervous women ( like i was after feeling how much a brazillian hurt the first time ) and i barely felt anything at all. Third experience was with nathalie. By this point it had been about 2mths since ive gone ( and your hair will make sure u regret that ). She was extremely informative about how the time frames affect your hair growth. My most recent experience i decided to also add on eyebrows ( because i had an email for a free service ) and then i realized i never used their promo that new customers get a free wax ( for certain areas ) the front desk was more than accommodating for me despite it being my 4th visit. I was waxed by jeanmarie, very sweet and kept me laughing most of the time there. When she was done i noticed there was hair left behind near the top of the thigh, she explained how some techs wax it anyway but its technically considered the "upper thigh" area which is separate ( this would prob explain the reviews that claim hair is left behind .. they did their job ) while i told her its alright ( no complaints ) and thanked her for her answer, she insisted she fix it for me. She removed the hair without me asking. The brows and lip waxing was my first time being done there, i didnt feel a single THING. I will NEVER go back to basic nail salon places that happen to wax. While EWC can be pricey, i firmly believe u get what u pay for. They toss out the stick after EVERY application they put on u. Being sanitary is their main priority. I was scheduled for a first time wax with Vanessa on June 22, 2019. The services I received was a full Brazilian, legs and underarm. The legs were ok as Vanessa explained I didn't have enough hair to get waxed. The underarm was ok as well and the Brazilian, however its a week later and I am able to see a lot of missed spots on my Brazilian and under arm and there is no way that there can be so much long hairs in a week as this had to be missed. I would think that the way the prices are set up I would be completely hair less when I leave. I will be going back as its the best thing I have ever done for myself, however I suggest you check your parts before leaving as a week later and I look like I had a botched up wax and it doesn't look pleasant at all. read more

I frequent this place for their technician, Alison C. If it wasn't for Alison C, I'd give them 3 stars. And if I could rate her separate from The company, I'd give her 5 stars. She's gentle, thorough and gives me the cleanest wax ever! I wish they would order a sturdier "paper" for the table customers lay on to get waxed. I'm only 120 and climb on the table gently and the paper rips every time. They have a water fountain in the back but oftentimes its not stocked with cups, which is annoying. Overall the place is clean and somewhat welcoming and most importantly it's a convenient location for me. However, if their technician Alison C leaves, I'll be following her to whatever establishment she goes to. read more
