The price for eyebrow threading ($10) is super affordable and great for the quality service you're receiving. I walked into Perfectbrowsnyc on Maiden lane street for waxing services. The service went well; however, while paying, I had a very displeasing interaction with one of the employees. I reached into my bag to pay for the services with my card and had cash to pay for the tip. The employee stated tips are usually 20% and rudely took my money without a thank you. I want to state that this is very unprofessional and disrespectful. I have been going to that particular location for about four years now, and I have never had an experience such as this before. Please remind employees that tips are OPTIONAL to customers. I typically tip very well and understand the demands of the service industry, but this was utterly unacceptable. I emailed and heard nothing back again a lack of unprofessionalism. Maybe now someone will take the time to listen and address my concerns. read more

One day I was uptown and really needed my brows done so i took a chance with this 78th street location. And boy was I impressed! Shoutouts to PUNAM!! I came here to do lash extensions which is $30. Lasts 2 weeks as the girl said. Yes they do but some fell out and two i pulled out myself because they were kind of hanging. I wont do that again because i pulled out 4 of my own lashes. As you can see from the pics from 1st day to 11th. Not bad. I was as careful with them as i could. Overall im satisfied w the lashes and the job. I will come back to re do it this week. read more

I usually ask for eyebrow threading and color them and I always happy with the results. You can ask for a card and have a stamp every time you come. LOVE the women who work here!!! They are kind, caring, and minimize the pain as much as possible. I get my eyebrows threaded and bikini wax every 6-8 weeks. They know my name, know exactly what I want, how I like my eyebrows to look and make sure I look perfect when I leave. I don't get redness on my face after being threaded or get ingrown hairs after my waxing. My hair is skin is very sensitive (I am a redhead so the hair is not easy). Of note: i went on a sunday, and I assume they probably don't have their best brow-ists (?) there on sunday early afternoonish. A couple of days later I had a dream that I was getting my eyebrows done and the eyebrowist took off my entire right eyebrow. I was freaking out and was relieved that it was just a dream. I have been going to this place since last summer when I moved to the neighborhood. I have been having my eyebrows waxed for many years and even though I have tried out threading several times, I really just prefer waxing. Every time I come here, I guess once a month, they ask me if I'm sure I want wax and not threading. And I always say, I'm positive I want waxing. They let out a big sigh and do the waxing but then insist on finishing off with threading. Tonight (Friday) I walked in at 6.45PM and only one woman was working and a man was attending the cash register. The place had about 6-7 women waiting, including myself. After about 15-20 minutes waiting, another woman came out from the back. Not sure if she was on break but there were plenty of people waiting. It was finally my turn to sit in the chair, and again, I ask for waxing and cleaning up my brows, and they ask, are you sure you don't want threading? I said, no I would like waxing. The woman proceeds and the wax is very hot and she is ripping off the waxing paper like she's angry at me. After a couple quick waxing she still goes ahead and finish it off with threading and telling me where to put my hands. At this point I'm getting a bit pissed but don't say anything. I clearly asked them not When she is done, she runs off and comes back with a piece of paper and starts pulling on my hair. I am asking what's going on as she is ripping out my hair, she said she dripped a little wax on it. I was like, what the hell?? I have been getting my eyebrows waxed for many years, and I never once got wax in my hair. At this point I just got out of the chair and paid. Before I left I said, this is absolutely ridiculous. If they don't want to do waxing, then they shouldn't offer it. Do threading only and call it a threading salon. My hair, that I just washed before going to get errands done, is stuck together with wax and not even sure how to get it out. Places like this totally piss me off. They are sympathetic to the fact that threading/waxing isn't the most pleasant experience and try to make it better. They are also just plain friendly which is few and far between in NYC.
