We had a very complex renovation with many steps, so we asked a lot of questions beforehand to make sure that the scope of the project was understood. Benny was extremely attentive at that time, touted his vast experience, and said he had his own dedicated crew who could complete the project in just a few weeks. Fast forward, and it is apparent he has either lied about many things or is just in way over his head as a contractor. The project dragged on for months with endless delays, excuses, and no clear timelines. The crew was constantly changing, unreliable, and often didn't show up at all. The work that was done was inconsistent, had to be redone on many occasions, and left unfinished at the end of the day. At the beginning, however, he worked very fast in order to extract more of the payments from us. Once we realized that, after materials we had purchased, we had paid the full amount of the project already but the work was only halfway done, he had completely vanished. Now he will not answer our calls or texts to save his life. Who knows what he is doing meanwhile, this entire year we have been trying to live in a house filled with unfinished work and broken promises. It has been so stressful for us and our kids to have to go through this. To add icing on the cake, he is using the pictures of our renovation without our consent to try and swindle more money out of unsuspecting customers. It is a very low blow and just adds to our suffering. I have kept holding out for the chance that he will do the decent and honest thing and either complete the work or return our last payment to make us whole. We do not have the budget to complete the work for now and will have to keep suffering. But it is apparent he is not honest in his dealings and I feel so gullible for falling for it. To sum it up, this has been stressful, expensive, and frustrating. I am very upset at the dishonesty and lack of accountability. We were misled and abandoned mid-project instead of dealing with a trustworthy professional. So please avoid this contractor! 1-Star Review - Precision Stair Company I truly wish I…read moredidn't have to write this review, but after a ton of patience and based on the pictures we will have to spend thousands of dollars out-of-pocket to correct Precision Stair Company's work, other homeowners deserve to know the truth. While the wood treads and risers themselves are beautiful (the one positive), literally everything else about this project was a disaster and left in an unprofessional, incomplete state: * Exposed concrete and large sections of missing trim * Rough, uneven drywall cuts with unfinished edges everywhere * Multiple gaps around stringers and walls that were pointed out and never fixed * Significant damage to our freshly painted walls and paint overspray on floors and trim * Brand-new carpet ruined because no drop cloths, no protection whatsoever * Numerous areas left so incomplete that we had to hire a second contractor to finish and repair the staircase We were promised a good job but instead, the crew walked away leaving the job looking like a rough-in. Communication and accountability were just as bad. We repeatedly asked for issues to be corrected, and they argued and lacked accountability for damage they caused in the home. When we finally scheduled a final walk-through, the owner ignored my reply. Days later (after we had already said the job was unacceptable), he let himself into our home on a Friday and Saturday without permission and recorded video inside our private residence, claiming it was for "legal purposes." This was done without our knowledge or consent, which is not only highly unprofessional but a serious invasion of privacy (any legitimate attorney would have told him that). In the end, his unprofessional and aggressive behavior turned what should have been an exciting upgrade into a stressful, expensive nightmare. We are now out additional dollars to make the staircase safe and presentable so we can finally move into our own home. If you're considering Precision Stair Company, please think twice. Beautiful wood does not make up for shoddy installation, zero cleanup or protection, refusal to fix obvious defects, and behavior that made us feel unsafe in our own house.
