Al scammed us out of $5k! BUYER BEWARE JUNE 2021 Al will take your money and say he is sending drawings for approval - and never send you the plans. After a month of silence he finally answered his phone and told me he lost my contract and asked me to send it to him. Then he promised again he was going to email the plans and told me we were going to have our pool installed in July - asked for the second deposit. How could it be ordered/ yet installed, if we had not even seen the plans?! Our contract showed the second deposit was not due until the pool was delivered and he was asking for more money - that was it! He agreed to send our deposit back and never did. MORE LIES. Please do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this guy as possible. Al has the best price in town because he knows from the start that he is going to screw you. I own a contracting company and did not agree to the ridiculous terms he has in his contract. I informed him if he wanted to do the job, he would sign one of my contracts and agree to those terms. He ended up doing just that, but still screwed me. He lied about materials being delivered to get a check when only half of the material was on the truck. Once discovered he stated that the supply company messed up and he would take care of it. Weeks went by with nothing being resolved, I went to the supply company and spoke with the salesman and he informed me that those items where never ordered by Al. He is now ignoring all calls and text messages. I went to his shop to get the materials that are missing, one of the employees was there and took the list of material and called him to find out where the stuff was located, the response that he received was, just have his attorney contact me. Long story short -- pay a real contractor the extra money it will save you in the long run. I am now going to have to pay a lawyer to try and get some money refunded. read more

The experience with this company is beyond aggravating. I signed a contract in November 2018. The sales pitch was that they could dig over the winter and finish in the spring. No one showed up until May. On Memorial Day I had a hole in the ground and two mounds of dirt. Now it is Labor Day and I still have a hole in the ground and two mounds of dirt. The company gives promise after promise that they will be there on Monday and you will be swimming by Friday. It is a complete joke. There is a list of excuses. We a finishing a pool and then will be there. It has been rainy. Workers have been out of town. Equipment isn't available. Materials weren't delivered. We sign a contract with Al (Perfect Inground Pools) April 20, 2017. He offered us a 14x28 pool for $25,000 tax included. We paid $12,500 up front, with the promise to start in July 2017. When the pool equipment arrived in July, we paid another $2,000. The excavator to dig the hole showed up in August. At the end of August the guys showed up to start the pool. The operator didn't know how to operate the excavator, but finally figured it out and dug our hole in 3 hours, for another $6,500,. The people who work for Al, had no unsupervised experience, and came out a couple of times and worked for 2 hours each time. When it came to putting my floor in at the bottom of the pool they used Vermiculite, and could not put it down properly. When they put the liner in, there were sharp objects sticking up all over the bottom of the pool. After filling the water up in the pool there was a leaks at the skimmer, and the light. the light was not hooked up, so we could not use the light. We paid the electrician $2,000 for all the electric hook up. He told us when he was finished that Al would make sure the light was hooked up. My boyfriend called the electrician, and he told him over the phone, how to hook it up. As far as the leaks were concerned, Al told my boyfriend to use fix a seal. This is a brand new pool, and to use fix a seal. Come to find out the skimmer did not have any gaskets under the faceplate. We called Al, and called Al to come fix the leaks, and backfill around the pool, but we had already paid him everything. He would never answer our text, or calls! We spent $1,250 on water because of the leaks. Al promised to pay for it! He also promised to close our pool down for free! Finally after a couple of weeks he sent his friend out to backfill the pool. So before they backfilled we walked around the pool and tightened all the bolts around the galvanised walls, that were left hand loose, and that was all of them. Al was suppose to sit down and show us how to work everything on the pool. My boyfriend watched you tube to learn about the pump, filter, and heater, so we could have a functioning pool. He also put 7 bags of salt in the pool, which was Al's job to do. This has been a nightmare, and if you want a pool done for your house, please listen to me, and have someone other that Al with Perfect Inground Pools do it. He is completely undermanned, and is unorganised. He lacks communication skills beyond belief. We are relieved to have him gone from our lives! He is also unlicensed, This is the worse experience, as a person in construction, my boyfriend has to deal with customers daily. He has never treated a customer like this. If he did, he would never have any repeat business. It's a good thing he is knowledgeable in building projects, or we would have been in more trouble. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could! Al's communication is horrible. He started our pool 2 months after we were promised. It was finally installed in June and I still don't have concrete around it, which was part of the contract. I don't have a winter cover yet either and it's October 26th IN OHIO! He's worthless. We put a down payment for a pool cover with the intent of installation in late September. Charges occurred before the product was to be delivered and installed. We have tried to work with the contractor on no less than 3 occasions before we complained to our credit company and had payment returned. Upon the return of our payment, they tried, again, to install the pool cover but demanded cash for payment. We reluctantly agreed because we were told that the cover was a custom cover and did not want their company to lose money on a cover that they could not use elsewhere. When they arrived to install the cover in January (3 months after our original install date) they left with the cover without telling anyone in the house. We finally agreed to purchasing the cover without installation. Again this was because we were told that this was a custom cover. After purchasing the cover, we found out that the cover was made one month before we even made contact with the company. Please learn from our mistake. Watch out for Al and Mike! read more

I purchased a pool through an Auction on IHeart radio. I was very excited to finally have a pool in my backyard. We met with Al Guilliford at the IX Center and he could not have been nicer. He came to our home and we signed all the paperwork. After this it all went downhill. The man is rude, mean, cruel, and he lies. He does not communicate, nor does he follow through on anything. I finally was able to get in touch with him about the pool and he indicated the supplies were to be delivered the following week, they showed up 3 weeks later. For 3 weeks after that everyday he said the excavator was on his way and he was following him, he never showed up. Two men showed up one day and sprayed my yard with spray paint to outline the pool and said Al was right behind them. The young man came to my door and apologized before telling me no one would be showing up. He told me it was like this all summer. I finally was able to get in touch with Al, and he said I was screwed and an idiot and I would not be able to get my money back. Al told me I had everything in my backyard to build my own pool. I will make this shorter. I contacted iHeart, never heard back, I paid with American Express and they fully refunded my money. I still have a backyard full of pool equipment and he still thinks he will dig in the spring. I had to send him a certified letter to get his crap out of my yard still nothing. I have also been told all the good reviews are friends of his, and I found out from someone else that if the bids are not high enough he has a friend bid. This guy is a loser, stay far far away from him. You will get screwed. I only clicked one star because it would not allow me to post without doing so. I would not give him any stars. read more
