The owner was super friendly and talked to me about my Bob's Burgers wallet. I took the risk and asked how he felt about Marshmellow and her friends, who rep the community in the show, and he told me how he loved the Christmas episode that highlighted the community. Maybe he played me to get on my good side, but he seemed genuine. Discount Hobby mostly has comics but they also had d&d figures, mtg cards and some dice. They don't have room for tabletop tournaments but they had some cheap 1 color dice that I was looking for that the other place we went to didn't have. I was looking for dice for my hufflepuff d&d character I'm building so we can to a rpg of Harry Potter. I was able to get a set of 7 yellow dice with black pips for only $4.08 ($3.85+tax). They will look great in my Hufflepuff dice bag. Next time I'm in the area I would consider coming here because the owner seems cool and the dice were cheap. While I do like Perfect Storm, and will probably go there for tournaments, Discount Hobby is a great place to check to see if they have certain items cheaper. It was worth the stop while in the Battle Creek area and plan on coming back.

The only reason I gave 4 stars out of 5 is due to the section of comic back issues. It seemed to be smaller lately.

My husband loves both buying things here and trading in his trading cards that he has had graded. The owner is super cool and really knows his stuff about what comes in and out of his store. Whether you like TCG games, legos, Funko pops, comic books or even figurines, they will have something for you to get excited about. Definitely will be coming back sooner than later.

Their selection of comics is colossal, the main reason we come back. Their game selection is also phenomenal and they even have a "game cage" for table top games to happen in store. Kids also have game and comic options as well as stuffed animals that are great for all ages. Staff is friendly, greeting us as we entered and various employees asking if we needed help with anything during our visit. We got what we wanted and continued our adventure. They have a small counter top display with dice, an area with trading card accessories (like binders, deck boxes, and playing mats), and a trading card event space. While we were there, a trading card tournament was actively being held. Employees were friendly, prices were fair and the space was well organized. Even with a good amount of people in the building, it didn't feel crowded. Even with the tournament going on, several employees were helping customers not involved with the event and keeping on top of regular business. I would recommend this spot to stop for comics or trading cards.

I was kidding the manager that soon they would to take over another storefront. It is JAMPACKED. And not just with your average stuff. You can get things here you'd have to hunt for anywhere else. The staff is ALWAYS kind, helpful and willing to include you in shenanigans. Customers are of all ages here. Young and old. Everyone is friendly and has a story to tell. The comic walls continue to grow to the ceiling and into the lobby which is full of cool toys, Magic cards, novels and comic wearables I haven't seen anywhere else. Got my son a supercool Godzilla hat (pictured) and a team up with the Avengers. They pull the things I want in case I can't make it in (or forget) which makes it all the better if you are a collector. It is clean and well organized and THE place for all my comic needs. The staff are always incredibly helpful and kind and will definitely help give you a recommendation based on what you like. I love the area in the front with self-published and local zines. It really is a small gesture but shows an effort to uplift and platform the local community and creatives. This location is definitely smaller than the other I visited, but there's still so much to find! There are several other stores along the street as well as the Art Museum, so it's a great place to stop by on a day out!

They often sell him the wrong items or are completely out of what he needs to get his RC car running. Most recently, he purchased a brushless motor they recommended, and we returned today hoping to buy a transmitter. To our surprise, we were informed that they wouldn't have any in stock until the end of August! To add to our frustration, they have a strict no-return policy, so we're stuck with parts that don't work for us. It's frustrating to rely on a shop that consistently misses the mark on customer needs and doesn't offer refunds for incorrect purchases. We won't be coming back and want to warn others to think twice before buying from them.

Good evening I just bought a Traxxas X-Maxx Ultimate over the past weekend at a different shop…read moreonly because they didn't have that one in stock. I work 2 blocks down the street so was looking at long term relation ship for this next step for me with this new hobby. I noticed the shocks didn't have oil in them so stop in to check asked them they said yes they should have had oil in them but maybe not enough I said well let me grab it from my Jeep and tell me what you think a kid looked to be 20 said there's a $30 charge for that! Hu?? really I said your joking right he said nope I'm like keep that oil and any other stuff I might need I wont buy anything from here! this could have been a great thing but to be like that cant even take 2 seconds to look at something with out wanting money or to get paid! I was shocked that never used to be like that people would give you help with something just as a courtesy good for business. well I had allot of money to spend there maybe not today but there's other cars I might have wanted down the road that one I just bought was $2200 well it wont be from there. ( its going to happen someone some ware will be having a heart attach but before any life saving measures happen there's going to be a charge)
