First off, let's acknowledge them for their punny name. Second, Dr. Tan is very professional, educated, and knowledgeable in her field. I can't believe how many of my previous optometrists let me go on with sub-optimal vision for their convenience. To elaborate, from what I've been told, I have minor astigmatism, most of which my previous optometrists told me I didn't need to correct for. When I described my vision problems to Dr. Tan (reduced clarity with dim lighting, halos at night) she said my astigmatism might be contributing to it. She gave me several different samples of contacts adjusted to my astigmatism, and while they some-what worked, my narrow Asian eyes were not happy with the fit. So I told her I was just going to stick with the brand I had been using because they were very comfortable. With that, she offered a different solution to which she increased the magnification with the down side that I wouldn't be able to see things 3 inches in front of my face as clearly, but what the heck... when do I scrutinize something that close to my face? Walked out with better vision than I've had in years. Staff is friendly, Dr. Tan is friendly, parking is easy, prices are fair. Definitely give them a chance. read more

I've been searching for a new optometrist since my previous one was not convenient. I was also highly referred by a client of mine to see Dr. Tan. I loved it that this establishments was a non franchise. Places like this concentrates on their customer service which was true. During the visit I never felt neglected by the staff or by Dr. Tan. They were knowledgeable and always had the right answers. Dr. Tan was easy to understand and explained all options available for frames & contacts. After reading some of the reviews I knew there had to be some kind of misunderstanding because they knew when I was returning from work and contacted me once my frames and contacts were ready for pick up. Hi. I am writing on the behalf of my sister who visited this practice about 2 weeks ago. First of all, Dr. Tan was a fantastic and knowledgeable doctor. Second, the reason for this poor rating was the rudeness of the other staff members. The trial contact lenses that were supposed to be ordered has not come in after nearly 10 business days! When my sister attempted to call the office, the front desk pinned the blame on her for not providing complete address information. This was not true because she updated the address nearly two weeks ago. It disheartens me that the staff would hang up the phone after being questioned about the wait time. Not the friendliest place to visit so definitely not recommended by my sister. This might have been an oddball case, but practices should strive to please their customers at all times. TL;DR Their high prices do not match their quality of services. read more

I'll just start with the good. As far as the exam went, Dr. Tan was very patient, helpful, and easy to talk to. The bad. The man running the front desk stuff was so shady and rude. I went in with my sister to get a new glasses prescription and for her to get new contacts. I brought in my broken glasses and he made some snarky remarks about them and my vision. He also kept pushing for me to buy glasses from them constantly even after politely declining multiple times. Ok. Then they charged me for a contact exam as well, and I didn't even know, because I didn't know the prices. I should have asked, but was naive and trusted the price. Also I apparently can't get a refund for the exam I was unknowingly charged for, but they said the next time I go for a contact exam, it would be taken care of. This means nothing because I will never go here again. Next. This part is for my sister. When she did her exam and they didn't have her contacts on hand, so they said they were going to order a pair to be shipped to her school apartment out of town. Okay cool. Despite the negative experience, I didn't bother to review this place at the time because I don't really write reviews (you can see this is my first) and I'm usually like it's not a big deal, just move on... HOWEVER... skip ahead a few weeks later aka now , my sister calls me and is furious and venting at how they still haven't sent her the trial lenses. They also had the audacity to blame my sister saying it was because she didn't give them the correct address( which she did at first, but called to correct it a few days later... it's been weeks since). She was on her last pair and was waiting for the contacts to try out before ordering, which by the way, they would not give her the prescription to order her own until she got the trial ones, so you can see why she was angry. This place is legit! I wanted to try this place out since it's near my work. I originally came in for an exam and pick up a new pair of glasses. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff members. Then I met Dr.Tan, she is AWESOME! She was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. She was very patient with me as I was trying to figure out which prescription my eyes needed as each eye had different prescription. Then it was time for me to choose a frame. WOW! She was easy to understand, and she gave a comprehensive explanation on what I was taking place throughout the exam to calm the nerve-wrecking experience. She made my experience magnificent!
