I'm normally pretty calm about things like this because it was a busy day and I'm sure they had their hands full. I don't understand the reason behind making an appointment if they aren't going to be honored in a timely fashion. It bothered me a little that it took them so long to see me but they were very pleasant, considering the amount of stress they were probably dealing with throughout the day. Once I actually got to see the doctor, he explained thoroughly what was wrong with me and also gave me tips on how to prevent further injury. The funny thing about the whole experience was that I came about a week later as a walk-in and was atteneded to within 15min!! And there were several people in the waiting area too!!! Overall, this place was wonderful with me and I would trust them again if I ever had and more back problems.

I have had two ankle…read morefusions and now am currently rehabbing a knee I just underwent surgery for to have 4 benign cysts removed and I was also bone on bone and had stem cells injected. All the staff is very friendly and courteous as well as knowledgeable. But I cannot say enough about Jim Matela. I have rehabbed with Jim through all my surgeries and after both ankle fusions I was able to get back to my normal activities of working out 4-5 times a week (weight lifting, elliptical, cardio kickboxing, indoor/outdoor vball, etc) without any pain or discomfort. I'm now currently 3 weeks post knee surgery and halfway along in my recovery and know there is no way I would be so far along without working with Jim and rehabbing. Jim truly has an understanding of how the whole body is connected and interacts making for full body recovery. Many PT places I have been to in the past (and there have been many since overall I have had 6 ankle surgeries and a labral hip repair) would only focus on the injured area and go through a very rinse and repeat approach with everyone. This not only made recovery time lag, it hindered recovery. By Jim focusing on everything that is also connected to the injured area recovery time has been accelerated and I've made a full recovery each time and my expectations were exceeded for what I was capable of doing again as far as my activities. I cannot recommend Jim enough, he is outstanding in his knowledge and approach.

Requiring a credit card to see a pediatric patient with an immediate injury, even though the patient has had 100% verified insurance in their own system, and you also have a very good PPO in network with them (or so they say) is just ridiculous. and if you ask them not to keep the credit card info in their system for privacy reasons, they simply say well then we refuse to see you. Even if you offer to pay cash. That is very suspicious. That is also not doing the best thing for patients. This needs to change. I have the right as a patient to check my insurance EOB before being charged on my credit card and ****Stop acting like this is a retail business*** it's a medical facility. Please stop treating Patients like a commodity or just a business. You should not be in the medical field as owners of a clinic if this is how you treat and see your patients.
