Last week we were on vacation in Palm Desert, and the first night a shoulder cramp/knot that had been bothering me all the week before acted up, and I couldn't sleep in the bed. I looked around on Yelp for a massage place to work out the knot, and chose Performance Bodyworks because they had good reviews, and were focused on the physio- side, not the spa side, They were able to squeeze me in Tuesday for a 1 hr massage. Fernanda did the massage. And I will admit: The massage was painful at time -- I had some really bad knots. I was also unsure about the cupping. But... from that night on, I was able to sleep in bed, and as things calmed down from the insult of breaking the cramp, it really started to make things feel better. So looking back a week later, I'm really pleased. An hour of deep muscle massage made the rest of the week bearable (and it was so much better than the mall massage I had gotten before). I will remember massages like this in the future when muscles really cramp up, and if we're back in the Coachella Valley when it happens, I'll give these folks a call. read more

This is my first time being stretched....I honestly was nervous and was not sure this was for "normal" people like me. I sent a message to Amanda via IG asking if normal people benefit from Fascial stretching....I'm pretty sure she giggled at my messages (I would have..LOL) however she was kind and said there are no silly questions and that everyone can benefit from Fascial stretching....so, i set up a 30 minute appointment and it was fantastic!! She was gentle, has a calming voice and communicated as she worked her magic. At some point during the stretch my sinuses even opened up!! It was like a bonus!! Not only are my hips more open so are my sinuses...LOL!! My neck is lose, my shoulder, but mostly my hips....OMG....it felt so good!! Chantel is a HEALER. PERIOD. My 12yr old son had a lingering sports injury that just would not go away... that is until Chantel worked on him. She is in-tune with the body, mind and spirit and was able to pinpoint the exact issue. She allowed us to feel how the body had tightened up to protect the injury, causing further problems and tightness throughout the area. She put my son at ease and has allowed him to see first-hand how complicated and wonderful the body is and how important it is to be in-tune with it. What I found most amazing about her work was after the both sessions, my son had this lightness about him as he made his way from the table to the car, where he immediately fell asleep. When we got home, he proceeded to take a nap in enjoyment of the euphoria he was feeling. The body was healing.
