We have been enrolled for a month or two at the springboro location and have run into multiple…read moreissues. We do not feel safe attending anymore. There have been multiple classes where the instructors just do not teach or tell you what to do. They also are usually not paying attention and have even verbally stated they don't want to be there. Having an infant getting used to water, and reading your website about safety I am very surprised at the lack of attention these instructors are giving. Multiple times we have attended and the water has been so cold our infant has shivered, parents shivered and we had to get out of the water it was so cold, one time a makeup class was offered, and another time it was not. Multiple parents complained and even the instructor thanked us for saying something because she was really cold. Talking to the GM Jaclyn got us nowhere, and she offered to move him up to the 1 year-plus class, but that does not align with the methodology I understand from your website and we do not feel comfortable doing that. Also, even though we are picking classes with specific instructors they seem to always swap them out. Also, while talking to Jaclyn on the phone she was very rude, interrupted me would not put me in contact with the owner because "they own multiple locations so that isnt possible" and hung up while I was talking. I would highly suggest any other place if you have an infant looking to take swim classes.

Some are swanky and recently…read morerenovated (Cincinnati Ohio had a huge overhaul in 2020) while others are a little more rustic with older buildings that feel like part maze part school and equipment that has seen several trips around the sun. The Fairborn Y sits somewhere in the middle. Not new, not dilapidated. The free weight room is a converted racquetball court. The exercise machines are all in great condition, but feel squished together into one smaller room, so that when you are using the chest fly machine, you can feel the breath of the guy on the leg press machine and the grunts of the barbell warrior vibrate in your chest. It is close quarters, but everyone is polite. The locker rooms are located in a back hallway and up a couple steps and I don't know about accessibility options, but it is also tight quarters in the locker rooms, especially the bathrooms. Two stalls are jammed into a corner, so plan your potty visits with time to spare. It definitely gets the job done and you can get a great workout in if you already know what you are doing. But for people new to the gym or to working out, I think they could do a better job of making you feel welcome and making it clear who you can go to for questions if you have them. The front desk folks were friendly, but the three times I have been there so far, the staff member in the weight room is on the computer or their phone and doesn't even look up to acknowledge people who are at the water cooler 3 feet away. I'm not entirely sure they ARE an employee. All in all, it is a solid workout and a fine stop if you find yourself in town. You can't beat the YMCA network and as I travel all over, I am grateful to have a place to get my sweat on.

This rec center is an absolute beast. As someone who loves to work out at recreation centers and…read morehas been to many throughout her life, this one takes the cake as one of the cleanest, most modern, and largest. It has an indoor fitness pool, an outdoor pool (looks like mostly designed for families with kids), an ice skating rink, a huge weight lifting and cardio machine area, multiple group fitness rooms, and a full-sized basketball court (that they use temporary drapes to turn into multiple courts for pickelball or pick-up basketball). There's probably more I'm missing. I've never actually walked through the entire place. They have a ton of community and fitness programming for the area. From 8 to noon then 4 to 9 most evenings, they have different fitness classes going on. They aren't just your basics either. They have enough TRX bands to support TRX classes or some of their strength-based classes use workout areas they've had installed. They have lots of spinning bikes and classes the support them. I've never actually encountered any machine or part of the fitness center that didn't work. Everything is well-maintained, and I've never even encountered an empty cleaning spray bottle before. The biggest "issue" I've had is when the water tastes a bit off because the red-light says the filter needs to be replaced on the water fountain. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. When a yoga class elsewhere will cost me $40, it's only $11 here at Kettering. If you get one of their multi-class passes or a membership, it's even cheaper on a per-class basis. They have lots of kids camps and kids activities including some homeschooling group play classes and more. I haven't paid much attention to the kid things, but I know they have some! Great spread of bodies and ages here too. You'll mostly see older adults, and it's really refreshing to see a ton of different types of people instead of the college-aged adults. Everyone here is super friendly, and it's clear a lot of the community uses this place as a great place to see and hang out with friends while staying active. Huge parking lot, but if there's a lot going on (like a kid's hockey meet), there have been a few times I've been unable to find a single parking spot in this beast of a parking lot. Bathrooms are clean too.

I feel it allows kids to try something/sport they may want to pursue as a lifelong dream but wouldn't know where to start. Daniel is an amazing boxing coach as well an amazing mentor for anyone younger or older. He takes personal investment in your training, your goals and your fitness and this is something I value a lot. I greatly miss my days here and it's very disappointing I moved to where I can't attend the gym several times a week like I used too. As well the culture Daniel has built at his gym is one of a kind and is truly a family. Everyone is there to help you and to push you to be your best because everyone sees the potential in everyone. The self discipline I was taught has truly shaped me into the young man I am today, I know for a fact I wouldn't be the same person without boxing and especially without DMC Boxing Academy. Not to mention they keep their gym in extremely good shape with new equipment and everyone is taught to clean up after themselves and sanitize everything that you use. The gym was always clean and never smelled. I want to share a core memory of mine here which was getting into the ring, then throwing up (I made it to the toilet), and then getting right back in the ring and going at it again. They have a pool, workout room, and other rooms for exercise classes. You get a lot for your money. Plus they have blood drives witch I think is great. I like that there you feel part of something.
