I don't even want to give 1 star. This is horrible. No coaches for any soccer team. What is going on? Why am i paying this $$$$???

Just joined this YMCA. We got a family pass. It is really nice. There is always someone at the front desk so you can easily check in. It is nice that it opens early at 5 am. They have a pool, workout room, and other rooms for exercise classes. You get a lot for your money. Plus they have blood drives witch I think is great. Was in the area, so tried this location. To be honest, i expected more. I thought it would be bigger and nicer. Do far im glad i joined the Springboro location. Springboro has more equipment..indoor walking track .. bigger pool and warm water therapy pool. Plus more selection of equipment in workout area. read more

We're newbies here but have had positive experiences so far. One of my husband's coworkers recommended we joined. We're still getting settled here in Dayton and I have definitely needed a place to work out that provides childcare. This week we registered for a family plan. After taxes it's about $61/month which allows us to take advantage of all of their offerings. I think this daycare is a good experience for my little boy as he's an only child and I'm a stay at home mom - yay for socializing and making friends! We are actually closer to the downtown location, but we specifically chose to come here for a couple important reasons. 1. Good childcare hours. The downtown location only provides childcare from 5p-8p. This location closes at lunchtime, but is open for the full day. 2. Free parking! The downtown location charges for parking. If you use childcare, lookout for Nina - she's a sweetheart! The gym recommends an app to track your workout and suggest future exercises, machines and weights. read more

We've been YMCA members since the beginning of the year and haven't been disappointed. I come to this branch for my daughter's gymnastics class, which is amazing! Karen who runs the department is out of this world and just phenomenal with the kids. Cynthia is one of the instructors that my daughter loves to pieces and she is also wonderful with the kids. I am really happy with our gymnastics experience at the South Y branch. As for the other aspects like classes, workout room, childcare, and the swimming pool, I don't have any personal experience since it's not my home branch. I really wish they'd have a track, like the other Y's do so I could run or walk while my daughter is in class. This is an older, looking YMCA and I really feel like it could use some updating, but it's nice, clean, and the staff is always helpful. They have plenty of parking so that is never an issue. read more

They don't keep their online schedule up to date. Showed up to the pool during open swim hours per online and it was being used for swim practice til closing time. My time was wasted. read more

This is where we usually go to work out - not as close as the Beavercreek YMCA, but definitely preferred. The key to this location is the facility seems cleaner and better kept, and the cardio and weights are all in one large space so it's very convenient. The pool folks will be disappointed vs. Beavercreek, but whatever blows your skirt up will determine where you're going. The staff that work in the space seem pretty good and friendly enough, the equipment is well kept and there is plenty of it, even when they're busy - there have only been a couple of times when an elliptical is not available, and in that case there is almost always a treadmill. It was a hot Saturday afternoon. My daughter dropped my grandson and myself off at Ernst Park next to the South YMCA. On weekdays she regularly works out at this YMCA and often walks in this park. Today she was attending a clothing swap nearby. This gave me the chance to play with my grandson. He wanted to swing but the swings were a little to hot from being in sun. He was able to get on a swing a little bit later. In the meantime he enjoyed climbing up to the top of a play center that has a stearing wheel, slide, tower and climbing wall. He also had a great time running along the top of the wall that is behind the swing set area. The time went by much too fast! This is a big park with 3 tennis courts, an appropriately sized parking lot and a nice amount of grassy area to walk, run and play on. The South YMCA and Ernst Park is a great resource for the residents living nearby & the general community. My daughter takes advantage of the daycare services at this YMCA which allows her to workout or attend an exercise class. I myself am considering joining the YMCA as a local membership in Cincinnati would allow me access to other ymca's in Ohio and across the river in Kentucky. My daughter's family membership gave her and the children access to the Campbell County Family YMCA for a fun swim day with my brother and his family. Go here and use the workout facilities exclusively. It's a great gym. They just updated all the equipment and weights. I go after work and it's never crowded to the point where you're waiting on machines. I think most people join the YMCA for the pool and the kids activities so it leaves the workout facilities pretty open. They have locker rooms and plenty of free weights. They have dumbbells up to 100lbs. I know they have a ton of free classes available which are not in the workout room which helps with space. The price is right for the entire family. read more

Enjoy the senior exercise classes and try to go 4 days a week. This week while at the Arthrons water class Wednesday there was a person and young child in the pool the entire time we had our class .They were extremely loud and swam through the middle of the group as we were group were trying to follow our instructor. The child screamed when she went off the slide. I said something to the instructor and also the life guard Jeff. Jeff looked at me as though I had three heads and said nobody had ever complained but me. I returned for the arthrons class today to find out the class was cancelled due to the water safety classes .Nobody had told us the class was cancelled. We found out when we tried to get into the pool. One new woman was told she could not be in the water with the kids. BUT one very loud child was allowed to swim through our group the previous day. comments please. read more

I went in to join after years of being away and it literally feels like I came home. The staff is very warm and friendly as well as helpful. We left close to closing time last night but a wonderful gentleman took time to show us where the cycling classes are held. Glad to be back! read more

I would give a higher rating but childcare hours are awful they close between 12-3:30 right when those of us who work nights can go and during preschool hours when I only have half my kiddos. Such a bummer. Plus no dance classes at this branch for kids. And way less class options then the other branches. Pretty basic. read more

They do a good job with what they have to work with. This facility is probably the oldest Y in the area. It is 50 years old, and parts of it look it. The problem is that this branch gets very little funding from YMCA corporate. All the branches send money downtown and it is redistributed to the branches much like the federal government and the states. This location gets the short end of the stick. Many of the other branches are much nicer because they get money from their respective cities. This location is competing with the Kettering Rec Center. The pool is terribly small, the multipurpose room is small, and the gymnastics room is in a poorly-done addition. The gym is good sized, the weight room has been remodeled, and the kids love the block room. Heating and cooling are hit or miss. The facility is clean, and overall the staff is very friendly. The various classes generally seem to be popular. Like I said, the people are great and they try. But, the facilty is shabby and out of date for current needs, and doesn't give them much to work with. read more
