It has an indoor fitness pool, an outdoor pool (looks like mostly designed for families with kids), an ice skating rink, a huge weight lifting and cardio machine area, multiple group fitness rooms, and a full-sized basketball court (that they use temporary drapes to turn into multiple courts for pickelball or pick-up basketball). There's probably more I'm missing. I've never actually walked through the entire place. They have a ton of community and fitness programming for the area. From 8 to noon then 4 to 9 most evenings, they have different fitness classes going on. They aren't just your basics either. They have enough TRX bands to support TRX classes or some of their strength-based classes use workout areas they've had installed. They have lots of spinning bikes and classes the support them. I've never actually encountered any machine or part of the fitness center that didn't work. Everything is well-maintained, and I've never even encountered an empty cleaning spray bottle before. The biggest "issue" I've had is when the water tastes a bit off because the red-light says the filter needs to be replaced on the water fountain. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. When a yoga class elsewhere will cost me $40, it's only $11 here at Kettering. If you get one of their multi-class passes or a membership, it's even cheaper on a per-class basis. They have lots of kids camps and kids activities including some homeschooling group play classes and more. I haven't paid much attention to the kid things, but I know they have some! Great spread of bodies and ages here too. You'll mostly see older adults, and it's really refreshing to see a ton of different types of people instead of the college-aged adults. Everyone here is super friendly, and it's clear a lot of the community uses this place as a great place to see and hang out with friends while staying active. Huge parking lot, but if there's a lot going on (like a kid's hockey meet), there have been a few times I've been unable to find a single parking spot in this beast of a parking lot. Bathrooms are clean too.

The Fairborn Y sits somewhere in the middle. Not new, not dilapidated. The free weight room is a converted racquetball court. The exercise machines are all in great condition, but feel squished together into one smaller room, so that when you are using the chest fly machine, you can feel the breath of the guy on the leg press machine and the grunts of the barbell warrior vibrate in your chest. It is close quarters, but everyone is polite. The locker rooms are located in a back hallway and up a couple steps and I don't know about accessibility options, but it is also tight quarters in the locker rooms, especially the bathrooms. Two stalls are jammed into a corner, so plan your potty visits with time to spare. It definitely gets the job done and you can get a great workout in if you already know what you are doing. But for people new to the gym or to working out, I think they could do a better job of making you feel welcome and making it clear who you can go to for questions if you have them. The front desk folks were friendly, but the three times I have been there so far, the staff member in the weight room is on the computer or their phone and doesn't even look up to acknowledge people who are at the water cooler 3 feet away. I'm not entirely sure they ARE an employee. All in all, it is a solid workout and a fine stop if you find yourself in town. You can't beat the YMCA network and as I travel all over, I am grateful to have a place to get my sweat on.

Parking right by the park can be tight, but you have a bigger lot across the road. This park also have a lot of baseball and softball fields plus soccer areas. They are all well maintained. The bathrooms all over the park are nice and clean. They have a really nice paved path that goes from the front of the park to the back sports fields. They also have a wetland path that connects to the other wetlands in the area. We just started playing more regularly on the baseball fields in the back and they are nicely maintained. Lots of sitting options including benches and bleachers. Overall a really great park.

We have been enrolled for a month or two at the springboro location and have run into multiple…read moreissues. We do not feel safe attending anymore. There have been multiple classes where the instructors just do not teach or tell you what to do. They also are usually not paying attention and have even verbally stated they don't want to be there. Having an infant getting used to water, and reading your website about safety I am very surprised at the lack of attention these instructors are giving. Multiple times we have attended and the water has been so cold our infant has shivered, parents shivered and we had to get out of the water it was so cold, one time a makeup class was offered, and another time it was not. Multiple parents complained and even the instructor thanked us for saying something because she was really cold. Talking to the GM Jaclyn got us nowhere, and she offered to move him up to the 1 year-plus class, but that does not align with the methodology I understand from your website and we do not feel comfortable doing that. Also, even though we are picking classes with specific instructors they seem to always swap them out. Also, while talking to Jaclyn on the phone she was very rude, interrupted me would not put me in contact with the owner because "they own multiple locations so that isnt possible" and hung up while I was talking. I would highly suggest any other place if you have an infant looking to take swim classes.

I also do classes with Chari who initially trained me one on one. Chari is very sweet, upbeat and always makes sure my form is spot on- which I greatly appreciate, and you should too. The emphasis is on long term health and body synergy! I don't often write reviews, but after my initial sit down with Kathy discuss my goals and background I was really impressed with the genuine interest and professionalism with customers. I'm a busy mom with a toddler but feel that the investment into my mental and physical health is a priority.

If one does have previous injuries, they work around that and help strengthen to heal better. My core and overall strength has improved so much since beginning reformer classes. Absolutely killer aerial/dance/pole fitness studio. Huge instructor team for constantly-rotating…read moreclasses, some of the owners are even instructors, and there are multiple rooms for concurrent classes. I really love it here. My suggestion if you're brand new? Try to enroll in an enrollment course for something that piques your interest. If you're curious about aerial apparatuses but scared about the idea of being in a studio and learning it, sign up for a dance choreography class for the first time. It'll get you familiar with the studio, the instructors, and the process, and you'll likely find yourself comfortable enough to sign up for your apparatus class the next month! PROS: -Multiple rooms means multiple concurrent classes pretty much from 5PM to 9PM most evenings. There's a dedicated room full of silks/hammock, a room full of lyras, a dance/hardwood floor room, and a room full of poles. Each room is separate so you can really focus on what you're doing. -They have one-time classes (they call them "enhancement") and series classes spread out over a full month (they call them 'enrollment'). This gives you price options and time commitment options. -Such a ridiculously welcoming atmosphere. As a plus-size woman with no aerial background, I was worried, but everybody is extremely welcoming. There are thinner-bodied humans and thicker-bodied humans. The majority of the attendees seem to be femme-presenting, but there are some masculine-presenting people who are super welcome too. -Such a gigantic class list of options to choose from. There's belly dance, yoga, cardio dance classes, aerial apparatus classes (pole, lyra, hammock, silks), choreography classes, and more. Really, there are so many options that things can feel overwhelming sometimes. -Lots of unique workshops too for one-off learning of advanced concepts or digging into the magic of choreography creation. There are also regular showcases for students to show off what they've been learning if you're curious about the studio and want to take a tour and see what type of stuff happens for yourself. -Instructors are so friendly. They're always happy to answer questions, and if I'm having trouble with something, they usually have advice or modifications. CONS: -Almost all of the studio membership options give you a free "learn how to do X" class series each month. This means that a lot of the students have dabbled in various aerials - or are absolutely amazing at them. This means that the one-time, "all levels welcome!" classes regularly include moves that are beyond the brand-new beginner level. I've popped into haute hammock classes where ALL of the apparatus choreography was outside of my abilities - and sassy silks classes where 50% of the choreo was beyond my abilities. This isn't necessarily a reason to avoid the studio, but you might want to know that some of the one-off/enhancement classes (Sassy Silks, Lyra Lux, Sassy Silks, Poleography) may use a few (or more) moves that will be hard for a brand-new beginner to use. If you see everybody else catching onto the moves really quickly, remember that a lot of people have familiarity with the apparatus or might even regularly be doing tricks that are 4x as hard. I know I've used these choreography classes as a way to "try" a new aerial apparatus, but if you do the same, don't let it discourage you if you're unable to do most of the things. It's totally normal for some of the choreo to be beyond a newbie's capabilities. (I wish there was a way for Femme Fatale to really earmark which individual classes each week were beginner-friendly and which weren't.) -Because the membership options offer unlimited one-time/"enhancement" class enrollments for members, enhancement classes fill up really far ahead of time - but there's a gigantic turn-over near the day of the class. So if you're on a waitlist, don't fret! It's likely that you'll make it in day-of. My plan-ahead ass hates the uncertainty, though. If you want the best likelihood to be on the class list (and not the waitlist), sign up exactly two weeks ahead of time when the class registration opens.
