This is not Pericos Mexican grill now it's called Juan's. Most of the staff is rude and it is the worse Mexican food I have ever eaten. The refried beans and the rice had no taste except for salt. The shrimp chimichanga was horrible, they used the smallest shrimp I think u can buy in a frozen bag. The shrimp had no taste, no seasoning and taste like they were boiled instead of cooking on flat top. My husband & I picked up lunch from here to compare to the other restaurants in town. It's a clean place. The people were friendly when placing our To-Go order. The food came out fast, within 8-10 minutes. The order came out correct. The price was extremely reasonable for lunch (compared to the other restaurants), right under $10 with tax for a plate. To start, this place is not easy to find unless you know it's there. They need a better sign out front, in my opinion. But, if you want a good meal, it's next to an easily recognizable red-roofed pizza place so give them a try. Tons of flavor, wide menu selection with fair prices and a friendly staff. It was, however, the best one I can ever remember having. Loaded with sautéed onions, tomato, and peppers, it was the perfect combination all those ingredients with a bit of cheesy goodness in a crisp tortilla. Indoor seating was comfortable and well spaced in the midst of the rules for COVID and the server didn't let a drink glass get empty. Upon arrival, girl behind the counter was to busy playing on phone to recognize I had come in. Waited 10 minutes until someone from kitchen staff let her know I was there. I told her only 1 item and she took off as I wanted to order several items. Taco salad was good and the 6 soft Taco's were steak, beef, and chicken and they were good but had no tomatoes or cheese on them just lettuce. For $28.00, seemed a little high. I only came in here to get to bean burritos for carry out to take back to my hotel next door. The guest greeted me, answered my questions and was very friendly. I got my burritos very quickly and they came with a bag of chips and some salsa which I did not expect but definitely enjoyed. The burritos were a little thin but they tasted great. I'd definitely get the beef next time since it's the same price and may be more filling. The place looked pretty good inside. Obviously they had Mexican decorations and music playing. It looked bigger inside than I expected when I saw it outside. I'm not sure why they close so early because I would think they would get guests later from the local hotel. I also noticed they state on here that they only have beer and wine but I saw liquor as well on their menu. If I was ever to visit Wiggins again, I would definitely stop here to actually sit and have dinner and a drink or two. read more

My favorite food is Mexican! I love Mexican food more than any other food, but this place has not a clue on how to season their meat! I say season, it's more like no seasoning at all!!! We used to really enjoy this place before they changed locations. Since changing locations, the first thing we noticed were the portions became smaller. The food was still good then. Now the staff acts like they are doing you a favor by being there. The food is just okay. The atmosphere sucks! This was hands down the worst "Mexican" food I have ever eaten. Taco Bell puts together a tastier dish than this place. From their smothered, soggy beef to their instant mix guacamole, this joint is sure to disappoint. I wouldn't feed this to my dog. Not to mention the theme....... Another review from me-Pericos now has street tacos that are fantastic. I ordered the lunch combo and got a chicken taco, asada (steak) taco and a tacos al pastor (pork with pineapple). What happened to the good food??? The quality of their food has declined since moving into the old Burger King building. The EXPRESS LUNCH Menu was a good deal with all meals on express menu costing $5-$6. But in the past 2 years the prices have gone thru the roof. Last month 4 of use ate from the Express Lunch Menu, 2 Taco salad entrees and 2 Burrito entrees. 2 had tea and 2 had water. The bill was $53. This is double the average price we paid in 2015. And the food is more the pre-processed type, unlike the homemade authentice Mexican food they were known for? There aren't many diverse places to eat in a 30 mile radius of Wiggins, MS, but if you want authentic Mexican, you want to go to Pericos! They have amazing food, and my family has had basically everything they have on the menu. They are almost always busy and have a steady flow of customers but they always accomodate to get their customers comfortable. The only slight draw back is that they are a bit pricey, though most Mexican restaurants are. I highly reccomend Pericos. read more
