Tonight we were reminded why we haven't been here since 2024. This place is the poster child for a poorly run restaurant. We arrived at 6pm. We're seated at almost 7pm food didn't come out till about 8pm. It does not matter that it was Cinco de Mayo. Did you not plan for this day? We have been to other Mexican restaurants on this day & it was never like this. We waited so long that the waiter wasn't making eye contact, you would have thought he made sure that we had chips & full glasses but no. Gave us our one drink, the chips got down to the crumbs & my hubs had to flag him down for a drink, my drink was gone & my water glass was at the very bottom. oh let's talk a it the "host" who acted annoyed & got smart when we asked questions. Ironically she was our server last time & she still does not know how to talk to people & be kind. The staff was leaning on the wall talking instead of walking around seeing how they could help out. Why not pitch in when you see people waiting for food & drink? If the servers would have at least walked around & informed us & the other families what was going on or given updates, refills etc..that may have helped some. Today was my first trip to Pericos and it was a great one. I got a small order of cheese dip and an order of steak street tacos. (If you order corn shells you get 4 tacos in your order; if you order flour shells you get 3 tacos in your order.) The corn shells were perfection, you guys. They were soft and a little crispy in some spots. Y-U-M! The steak was awesome & the onions + cilantro on top made the taco! And the cheese dip was exactly what I would expect and exactly what I needed on this cold, rainy day. I also really enjoyed their salsa. Not too hot but also had just enough kick. The chips we got were warm and tasty, too. I also got a steak quesadilla to go for my husband and he said it was fantastic as well. The steak has a wonderful flavor and was great quality. We were one of the only parties in the restaurant as we went during an off time but the staff wasn't extremely attentive but we managed just fine. Quaint Mexican place hidden in the residential districts of Arlington. Great prices, especially for these times. Tried the Steak Pericos and the Enchiladas Mexicanas. The steak and the shrimp were very well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The queso that came on the enchiladas was delicious, and the portions of rice and toppings were generous. We went here for the first time this evening. I'd have to say that it is the best Mexican Restaurant we've been to Arlington. The decor was the typical colorful Mexican colors -- bright, cheerful and festive. The chips were warm, the salsa was good, as was the margarita. The guacamole was only fair; to be honest, it reminded me of egg salad! I had chicken enchiladas with verde sauce, and I enjoyed them. My husband had the Mexican steak, and he said it was very good. My grandson ordered the kids beef chimichanga, but he was served chicken. We didn't send it back, but the wrong order was just part of the awful service we received. Our waiter was slow, bordered on rude, and just plain poor at his job. He either needs to be better trained or needs to find a job he's better suited for. Go for the food, and hopefully you won't get the same waiter we did. read more

Dropped into Pericos on a lazy Thursday evening. I sat down to my table and was immediately rewarded with a shower of warm tortilla chips and salsa. I perused the menu and noticed a lot of "NEW" offerings on the menu (red color). With so many potential menu selections, I went with a tried and true favorite. Steak fajita nachos. My steak fajita nachos were excellent. They had the right amount of seasoning, grilled vegetables, and cheese sauce. TERRIBLE service, COLD food, NO-ONE corrected the mistakes! we've been here many times. the service has gotten worse. tonight we were sat and no one took our drink orders for 20 minutes, and only then because we flagged someone down. cheese dip appetizer not ever brought, server said "my bad!" took over 45 minutes to get our food while people sat after us had eaten and left. rice was cold. tacos and burrito were wrong. no tortillas brought for fajitas until we asked. server didn't come check on us after food served. I had to go find him. no manager on duty and the man I spoke with did basically nothing. I told them we would not be back. no one ever returned to our table. no apologies even when we paid for our meal. Nothing was compEd or even offered. We had to get up from the table 4 times to get someone's attention! they Just lost 8 customers. they had better change some things because there are at least 2 New Mexican restaurants opening in our area and plenty already established. read more
