Got 2 premium cut sets and they came with unlimited banchan. We also got an extra salad for the table and probably could have done without. The meat portions weren't the largest but all of the food was well cooked and delicious. We especially liked the short rib. I was a little sad I didn't get a marinated one since it wasn't GF, which is interesting since they do their glass noodles with tamari so I don't see why they can't just do that across the board. Oh well. Also might not be the best spot for a private date or conversation since they do spend some time actually cooking the meat in front of you as opposed to other places that let you cook it yourself.

Perilla absolutely exceeded my expectations. The premium set was incredible -- perfectly paired with the banchan, ssam, ssamjang, japchae, and scallion muchim. The soondubu stew was rich and comforting, cocktails were on point, and the white peach sorbet was the perfect ending to the meal. Amazing food, beautiful presentation, and such a great dining experience! We are planning to go back to try their brunch menu!

Wasn't too hard to get a last minute reservation for a Monday night. The restaurant is in the hotel building here (can't remember the name now). Came here with my sister, and we were able to order one of each tasting menu. All of the meats were delicious, high quality. The Wagyu tasting menu was of course much fattier and more tender. One of my fave cuts of meat was the Wagyu ribeye cap, not surprising. The Wagyu hanger from the premium tasting menu was my fave cut from that menu. The servers were friendly. They cook the meat for you at your table, so depending on how they're staffed the night you go and how busy they are, you might have a short wait between some bites. But it wasn't noticeably slow. The tasting menu is served with japchae (yum!), assorted banchan, salad, and ssamjang sauce. They also give you sesame oil with salt and pepper. Most of the meat was seasoned so well, it didn't even need sauce. The banchan sides are great to help cut the fattiness of the meat. If you ask for rice, they will give you some. I know they give you lettuce to wrap, but I prefer a little white rice to help cut the grease personally. Was happy they had it! If you want to order meat à la carte, the biggest surprise of the night was that the marinated short rib which is usually a fave was oddly the least seasoned and the marinade was not super flavorful. I would stick to the Wagyu hanger or maybe one of the ribeye options. Would recommend for some good beef and good service!

This is by far the best restaurant I've been to that was attached to the hotel I was staying at which is L7 Chicago by Lotte. I ordered the small ceaser, Korean fried chicken, and smashed burger + beer combo. Everything was perfect. The salad was refreshing, crunchy, and flavorful. Light but filling. The Korean chicken had a tinge of sweetness/spiciness with perfect fried skin. Also, very juicy. Burger tasted like a really elevated Big Mac which is great, and fries were solid too. The bartender who I think was Andrew did a great job serving us too. He was a one man show having to deal with everyone at the bar. So glad we were able to try the food from here. The ambiance is also nice and elevated, definitely a good date spot.

Had dinner here for our anniversary. I was excited to eat here as the menu and pictures online looked amazing. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The entire is well done and has an amazing vibe The food was amazing and it didn't disappoint. We did the rice cake and Korean fried chicken from the small plate section. I had the Waygu ribeye which had the best marinade . It's cooked at your table by the staff an melts in your mouth. I also had the Brussel sprout side-which was also very good. My partner had the steak fritas with 2 Sunnyside eggs.

Chic space and elevated take on KKBQ. The rice cake cacio e pepe was a standout and Korean fried chicken had amazing flavor and crunch. However, for such a premium experience, the service fell quite short. Our host was very kind, but service was very slow. What's nice is they do grill your meats at this location, but the griller was not very friendly at all, even when we tried to engage her in conversation. This really changed the energy of our dinner. We also ordered two sets, and the second Wagyu set was much more burnt, it would have been nice if they changed the grill between sets. Had the pace of service and personality been different, it would have truly let the flavors shine.

Good quality, poor quantity, good value. I made a reservation for a dinner at Perilla on restaurant week. The dinner course was $60 a person so the sub-total was $120 not counting drinks. For the first course, i chose japchae and mixed greens salad. The salad was nice but as there was more veggies that came with the second course, I felt like this was a redundant and wasted dish. The japchae was really delicious and I wish I chose two orders of that instead. For the second course, it was a no brainer to choose two of the grilled meats tasting. There was a server who helped cook the meats to requested done-ness. The meats were delicious and paired well with the banchan (side dishes). I especially really enjoyed the narinated short rib as it had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. For the final course, there was only one option of a dwenjang snickerdoodle. I enjoyed the dessert as it scratched the sweet treat itch without tasting so overtly sweet to where I would feel disgusted afterwards. For beverages, their selection was quite limited when it came to non-alcoholic options. In their "spirit free" section, they have only three drinks and at the time of my 8pm reservation, they only had one option left which was the Hallasan Volcano. I did not like this drink at all. Although I have great spice tolerance and generally enjoy spicy things, this drink felt overwhelming with different flavors and sensations especially when it came to the szechuan peppercorns. The server noticed that I didn't enjoy this drink and offerd to remove it from the tab which was nice. The alternative option for non-alcoholic beverages was a bartender's creation. I listed out my preferences which was something fruity and tropical-- similar to a pina colada, and the bartender made something which fit that profile. The drink they made was alright and I think I would've been satisfied without that. The service can be better. Despite a reservation, there was no seating available when I checked in and I was required to wait 20 minutes to be seated for a reservation made weeks ahead. There was a ton of dead time between when I was seated and when the server came back to take orders for drinks/appetizers and our meal. The drinks took a while to come and there was even more dead time in between that and the first course. In general, the pacing of this three course meal was quite poor and there was too much dead time from the point of being seated to the main/ second course with the meat. Afterwards the rest of the meal felt quite rushed which is unfortunate because that extra time would be best appreciated between the second and third courses. The biggest red marker of my experience was when it came to the drinks. I had explicitly mentioned to the server that I do not drink and would like to order from the non-alcoholic section. When the drinks initially came, the server brought us two drinks which turned out to be alcoholic. I didn't realize until I took a sip of it and thought it tasted weird. I brought this to the servers attention and they swapped the drinks out for what I had originally ordered but the massive issue of serving alcohol to someone who has an explicit preference to not drink alcohol was never addressed. As someone who doesn't drink for personal reasons, I felt extremely violated and was so frustrated with the situation as the magnitude of this error was minimized to the point of not even acknowledging it. I had reached out at a later time through OpenTable and then later through Perilla's website to express my frustrations with this experience and their ignorance and failure to acknowledge and address this problem and have not heard back after weeks. This just sours my experience more since I would really expect better in-house service, and at the very least overall customer service when directly reached out to, from a Michelin Guide recognized restauraunt but this is just another instance of disappointment with this establishment. I would hope that this experience is completely isolated and these issues don't plague other people's experiences in the way that it had affected mine.

A friend and I decided to come here on 2/5/26 for Chicago Restaurant Week. We both had never been here before. We walk in and notice how pretty the restaurant is. They seated us in the back of the restaurant. Our server's name was Patty. She was friendly and helpful. The dinner here is a full EXPERIENCE. We were given a complimentary broth first and that hit the spot because it was a cold night. They have a place inside the table where a fire can be lit for cooking meat. They cooked the pork belly and the steak for me which were both good. They are very generous in the "freebies" they give you to eat with the meal. I really enjoyed the flavored radishes and fishcakes. They also have kimchi and a few other items. Staff were nice and the food was pretty good. I especially liked the chicken wings. Things for improvement - When the freebies were put down on the table, the female waitstaff said what they were but my friend and I couldn't understand what she was saying because it was relayed too fast. We had to ask to repeat a couple of times. As a newbie, that is a bit frustrating. Also, when we got our bill, my friend happened to notice that a 5% charge was automatically added for a "kitchen staff support fee" We both didn't like that at all. If you are going to do that, explain to us verbally that is a fee they would like to add to the bill and ASK if it's okay to do so. I didn't see until I got home that the receipt at the bottom said that it's an optional fee which is too late by then to have it taken off. The restaurant is responsible for paying it's workers, not the diner. The tip we had no problem with, it's standard and Patty did a good job. Parking can be a bit tricky to find due to the area. We parked kinda down and around the corner where there was metered parking. It was a fun experience but my friend and I agreed it wasn't a place we could see ourselves coming back to.

Our very first stop for brunch when we arrived in Chicago! Right outside of the loop, you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. The bulgogi breakfast sandwich was juicy and flavorful, and the accompanying hash brown was perfectly crispy. The smash burger that my cousin got was also a hit with our group! Service was attentive, accommodating, and welcoming. Vibes inside were warm and 100% felt like you were in a Michelin level restaurant

Not even being dramatic when I say this was one of my most favorite dining experiences ever. I don't go out of my dining comfort zone often, but I'm so glad I did here. Perilla is the best! Decided to visit during restaurant week, and I have to say, the menu was amazing. I got the japchae, and now I've been looking up recipes because I have to have it again. I could eat that all day, everyday. Everything about it was perfection. We also ordered the korean friend chicken a la carte, which was chef's kiss. We ended up getting the grilled meats tasting, and I loved it! I was introduced to so many great new foods like fermented soybean to put on top of the meat. I was so, so happy. I love that the severs also make the meat at the table. It really felt like a luxe experience, and it is! With the gorgeous, intimate interior, it's hard to argue otherwise. Our server was also super nice and chatty with us, which we loved! She was awesome, and I wish I remembered her name. The meal finished with carrot cake. I've never had it before, and it was just okay to me. I liked that it wasn't overly sweet. Although, I'm saying it was okay, yet I still nearly finished it, so that should tell you something. I've been talking about Perilla ever since my visit. I absolutely need to come back here.

Got the premium set plus the soondubu and 60 days dry age ribeye. Favorite cut of the night was the ribeye. The premium set wasn't bad either but didn't enjoy the marinated cut that much. The banchan was just okay and among the banchan, I enjoyed the salad and the pickle radish the most. Everything felt unseasoned and the pajeon wasn't that good. The sauce carries the pajeon though. The service was 10/10. They were super nice and took care of everything for us like water and banchan refills. Overall, great service and had an amazing time!

WOW this skirt steak was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I still dream of it. The fries were also exquisitely crispy and sharp in taste. My cocktail was bubbly and delicate, my favorite. I had come to meet my mother before going to a musical, but due to it being dye-the-river-green day, she got too caught up in traffic. Luckily, the staff was incredibly patient, attentive, and understanding as I decided to just sit there and read while waiting to see if I should order or not. Inside was tastefully modern

Only had brunch/ lunch at this location, so that is the only thing I'll be reviewing (though their dinner and Korean BBQ menu also looks very good). Their brunch and lunch menu have some solid options, and reservations are fairly easy to get whether it's a weekday or weekend. I got the steak frites and my friend got the steak & eggs. We also tried the korean donut and got mimosas. The steak was the highlight; the accompaniments were okay (the fries I got were too salty and the the eggs/ rice were fine, nothing spectacular). I'll probably opt for a different entree if I come back. Other brunch items people were getting around us looked very good (like the soufflé pancakes and breakfast platters) and service was incredibly prompt and friendly.

On the $65 pre-fixe menu, I see there are numbers next to some of the options. Are those additional prices for those selections?

Some options have specific amounts that you must order like (ex. wagyu is a minimum of 6 oz.) I wonder if this is what you're referring to. Either way, it is certainly worth the try even if you only do appetizers 👌
