Amazing lounge on the Peninsula rooftop! Service always on point, dimly lit interior vibe, and an amazing DJ. Perfect shareable food to try when sitting at the bar & the cocktails are carefully curated! Pro Tip: there is an outdoor ice skating rink inside the Peninsula, check it out around the holidays!

Unfortunately it drizzled so we couldn't go outside but this is one of my all time favorite drinks I've had. Beautiful inside and outside. Staff is super friendly. You get some nuts and snacks at the bar. Tried 3 drinks but my favorite was easily the monarch. I would consider returning just for this drink. Highly recommend

Stopped by Z Bar around sunset for dessert with friends, and it was a great spot to unwind. I had the beignets--warm, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. The view overlooking the John Hancock was stunning and made for a perfect golden hour hangout. The only thing missing? The vibe could've been elevated with better music. It felt a little too quiet for such a lively setting. Still, for the views and desserts alone, Z Bar is worth a visit.

Z Bar is located inside the Peninsula Hotel and I had an amazing time here recently on a very hot Saturday afternoon. Had an option to sit inside, but we saw a nice semi shaded spot outside so we hd no choice but to take advantage of the situation. We had Sarah as a server and she was very helpful with letting us know what all the goodies were on the menu. The Freezer Door Martinis were very much in order due to the very hot temps outside...really good and did the trick. Got them with some blue cheese olives. We were hungry so we definitely needed to get some food in us. We opted for the Tuna Tartare, Z Bar sliders and the potato bites topped caviar. Tuna Tartare was the best of the 3 and I would definitely get that again as it was very flavorful and delicious! Sliders were very good as well as they come in a set a 3. Potato bites with caviar were good also. Recommend all 3! Came back a 2nd time and had Amber as a server and she was awesome as well! Took good care of me. I plan on spending some nice summer days/nights out here the next couple months. Very nice views of the John Hancock Building and nearby hotels on Michigan Ave.

The Z Bar was nice and cute. We came at a low-key time so there was not a crowd outside, we probably should've came later at night just to enjoy the views a little better but all in all the service was great. We just did drinks not any food but it looked like the food would've been good.

Stopped by Z Bar on a Saturday afternoon. It is located inside the Peninsula Hotel. Upon entering, the elevators are on the left and you take it up to the 'lobby'. Once you get to the lobby, you're welcomed into a beautiful hallway and you'll find another set of elevators to take (located down the hall, off to the right) to get to Z Bar. There was about an hour's wait for a table for 5, but we found our way to the bar and enjoyed our drinks on the outdoor patio area. The weather was chilly but manageable and there were heat lamps/electric firepits on the patio. I imagine it to be beautiful during warmer days! Most cocktails range anywhere from $22-$24 and they are STRONG. There are also so many more drinks available on the menu. Their mojito is the first one I've ever had that was that strong! If you're looking for a light alcoholic drink, I would pass on this, but if you've been wishing your mojito was stronger, this spot does it right!!! The espresso martini was also delightful. The Z was such an interesting drink, it was almost like a green juice and I enjoyed it. It was super busy, but we were able to flag down a bartender and service was fair. I'd definitely come back if I'm looking for another elevated bar experience with views.

Great view upscale bar, but drinks were just alright and not worth the price. Come here for the ambience

Food: The menu was not large. It's mainly small bites appetizers. The flavors were good. Oyster was fresh. Cocktails: our party love the cocktails here. We especially enjoyed the Bangkok jam. It was very light and aromantic. Service: Excellent. Our server Alina was attentive and very professional. Ambience: This place has a very chill vibe. Good for having a couple of cocktails and good conversation. Nice minimal decor very clean. Would definitely like to go back during the warmer months to check out their outside patio.

Z bar had a fun young adult energy, great service, and excellent drinks. I got the yuzu cocktail and it was refreshing, delicious and strong. The view was gorgeous outside and it was nice to be able to enjoy it from the warmth inside. I didn't have a reservation when I went but was able to get two seats by the bar with minimal wait. It could get busy thought and did a little in the night and I noticed many guests enjoying their drinking standing around the bar area

Pretentious, expensive and difficult to find. The views are nice, but not sure if I'd go back.

Unexpected surprise! Located at a rooftop location in The Peninsula hotel. You'll enjoy taking in the luxurious ambience of the establishment as you travel up to the lobby and then another set of elevators up to Z bar. You step into a bright airy space with elevated lounge vibes. It was fairly packed on a Saturday at 4pm. Seats were full but you can get drinks and find a bar spot as people rotate in/out. Great cocktail and drinks list accompanied by the best bar nuts you'll ever get on a complimentary basis. The Bangkok Jam and espresso martini were great! Downside is that they average $20 a drink as you would expect in a place like this. All in all a good spot to bring visitors or a date for cocktails!

Great and welcoming service right off the bat. Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect place to come and unwind by yourself or with a small group of friends. Espresso martini was done well.

Ambiance was great. Loved the skylight from the bar! Even though we weren't seated outside, it felt very open and really established the outdoor to indoor vibe of a rooftop bar. The tuna tartare was fresh, well seasoned, & came with chips on the side. Delicious. The drinks were beautiful! Very well balanced in taste and looked so pretty. Service? Bad. This alone makes me never want to come back again. The bartender spilled stainable bitters on my friend's' belongings and ruined my friend's dress. They comped 1 drink, but there was never an apology. They and we just cleaned up the mess and there were no apologies! He just went back to acting like it didn't happen. The 1 $24 drink isn't going to cover the price of my friend's dress. So disappointing.

We were so happy with everything! Our server was wonderful! The entire staff was so friendly and on top of their game! We never waited for anything. They were immediately refilling our waters, offering more bread, removing dirty plates, replacing silverware, and offering the next course. It was perfect! The views!!! I think there's not a table in NoMi that doesn't have an amazing view. The main, large window faces the lake (East). Arriving just at 7, you get the full affect of the city, and lake, and then the sunset and lights of the buildings. It was absolutely magical. I couldn't get enough of it. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and clean, but honestly it could have been a pit and I wouldn't have noticed. You'll be focused on the views for the entire evening. The food!!! Everything is very fresh. It's all well-prepared. Everything was delicious. There's a good variety of dishes to choose from. Plenty of healthy, low-carb options. We each ordered our own appetizers. I had the crispy Maitake mushrooms and my husband had the mussels. We both loved our food and left nothing on our plates. Excellent choices, that we highly recommend. As our main course we shared the sushi platter. The seafood was fresh and the sushi didn't have too much rice. It was the perfect amount of food with our appetizers. They have an extensive wine and drink menu. For drinks I had a glass of the Sauvignon blanc and my husband had a red blend. For dessert we weren't really hungry enough to eat anything else but my husband wanted a pallet cleanser. They have a few sorbets. My husband settled on the cherry cola sorbet. They brought it out with a little chocolate that said "Happy Anniversary" in French. They did not add it to our bill. Very sweet of them. It was probably one of the best anniversaries we've ever had. The bill was about $230 before tip. We highly recommend coming here for any special occasion.

Overcooked with a little sauce and two pickles slapped on the bun with a tiny little dab of fake cheese - it was like a bad and way more expensive version of McDonald's. It is a must visit - if only all hotel restaurants were this good. We had a late dinner reservation on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was almost emptied out. So that made for a lovely, semi-private dining experience. Selecting a wine was dicey, as earlier that week flooding had damaged the cellar (!), but our server, Alex, was very helpful and worked with us to find something to my liking. We landed on a 2015 Cornas which was showing beautifully and matched perfectly with our meal. Alex did a fantastic job taking care of us during the wine reconnaissance and throughout the meal. Speaking of which, we started with the deviled eggs, which were amazing. An elegant balance of cream and salt from the caviar. For my entree, i had the venison. It was a seared filet on I believe a sweet potato puree, and it was rich and tender. Order it rare, if its on the menu. Kelly had the filet, also rare, and found it to be superior to most Chicago steak house filets. Our side was the divinely creamy Aligot mashed potatoes. Don't skip on these! For dessert, there was a decadent, gout-tempting chocolate mousse preparation. Served tableside, its all you think you can eat. I had a heaping serving, ate some, took the rest home. Kelly had the (also) Decadent Chocolate Cake, which too was superb. Cocktails were excellent, as is the bourbon selection. Service was impeccable. Our dinner was long and leisurely, and we look forward to returning.

I found Ila's on Google and liked the variety of menu items. The food appeared to elevate comfort food from multiple cuisines, such as American, Italian, South American, Asian, and Southeast Asian. I reached out to the restaurant and was assisted with a reservation for 14 people. Our table was set and ready to go as soon as we arrived at 8:30pm on a Saturday. Overall customer was excellent. Thank you to the hostess for making my sister, the bride, feel special. She complimented her and hyped her up for the night, which was really sweet. Our server was awesome too. He was friendly and highly attentive. Loved that our food and drinks also came out in a timely manner. I enjoyed everything I ate. I had a few bites of the appetizers including the scallops, fried paneer, and 2 kinds of empanadas (corn and chicken). We also got lumpia and a mixed bread platter for the table. Though I didn't have any of the latter, they were a hit at our table. I got the burger as my entree, and it was such a redemption from a crappy burger I got elsewhere earlier in my trip. The double smashed patties were juicy and flavorful. I devoured the burger and loved the thin cut fries. All-in-all, we had a lovely dinner at Ila's for my sister's bachelorette party.

We also tried the chicken & corn empanadas and the cheese pesto flatbread--all solid. The only downside was that it is super quiet with only a 3 parties including us, so don't expect a buzzing happy hour scene. The space is absolutely gorgeous though, with beautiful interiors, comfy high-end furniture, and great service. Hoping this place gets the love it deserves.

The Berkshire Room is one of my favorite speakeasies in Chicago. While they offer a fantastic…read morecocktail menu and a full bar, I almost always order The Dealer's Choice. You simply choose your preferred spirit, flavor profile, and glassware, then let the mixologist create something just for you. It's one of my favorite cocktail experiences in the city, and they've never steered me wrong. What I especially appreciate is how knowledgeable the bartenders are. They're always happy to offer recommendations if you're unsure what to order, but they're equally excited to create something completely unique if you're feeling adventurous. Watching them craft each drink is part of the experience. I've even hosted a birthday gathering here in their private side room, where we enjoyed charcuterie boards alongside our cocktails. If you're just stopping in for drinks, though, I'd recommend grabbing dinner beforehand, as the food offerings are fairly limited. More often than not though, you'll find me sitting right at the bar. I love watching the bartenders showcase their craft and chatting with them about the incredible selection of spirits they have on hand. It's a great spot for anyone who genuinely appreciates well-made cocktails and the artistry behind them. I'm also a member of their loyalty program, which is well worth joining. It can be used at The Berkshire Room as well as several other excellent restaurants, making it an easy way to earn rewards while exploring some great dining spots around the city. Whether you're a cocktail enthusiast or simply looking for a sophisticated place to unwind, The Berkshire Room consistently delivers. I'll definitely be back for another Dealer's Choice soon! #YelpEliteSquad

A small group of us came in on a weeknight for after dinner cocktails... The venue is interesting,…read moresomewhat dim and vibrant at the same time. Definitely has a cool, fun vibe. Cocktails are ok... I say that because we ordered something that wasn't too off the wall which involved ginger simple syrup and they couldn't make it - odd for a truly craft cocktail joint. So, they're more mainstream with their cocktails. Service was just ok as well, not the best, but somewhat friendly. Overall - it's worth checking out, even if only for the venue.
