The service was excellent--timely, attentive, and we never had to wait long. Atmosphere is very romantic. The food was tasty and well-prepared, with the steak cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Excellent selection of wine and the server was well prepared to explain to us. Dessert was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just right. Overall, a great experience, and I'd definitely recommend this place!

10/10 Service was amazing! I ordered this crab Ceaser salad and it was so refreshing and filled with crab. I also ordered a glass of white wine which was amazing. The bread was absolutely amazing and didn't leave me full. The ambiance is very cozy and I enjoyed my experience.

I had a lovely solo dinner here. I expected to be seated at a tiny table or at the bar, but to my surprise, I was placed at a spacious booth. I ended up ordering a glass of chardonnay, the 45-day dry aged 16 oz rib-eye, and sides of broccoli and mac & cheese. One word--DELICIOUS. The rib eye was cooked perfectly medium rare. It paired well with the steak seasoning on the side (salt, pepper and other herbs), the roasted garlic, or simply on its own. The broccoli was surprisingly flavorful and I finished the entire bowl. The Mac & cheese was just as tasty and added a nice balance to the meal. The interior is dimly lit, and can be a bit loud. So probably not ideal for young children. The service was top notch, and my water glass was routinely filled without me needing to ask. I was so full I didn't get to try dessert, but I left the restaurant a happy dinner. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend.

Excellent steakhouse in Chicago - we had dinner this week in their private area upstairs. The menu was thoughtfully designed (with flexibility for dietary preferences) and executed to perfection. I enjoyed the lump blue crab cake appetizer, filet mignon entrée, and carrot cake dessert, but what blew me away were their properly whipped potatoes and the Caymus 50th Anniversary Napa Valley Cabernet! Service and ambience were both above par. Will be back!

Exceptional. Flavor packed. Steak cooked to perfection. The pepper sauce was devine. The sides were so interesting; definitely try the sweetcorn! Desserts were amazing. Must try! Service was slow at first but they kept glasses topped up and cleared the table quickly so the service was good overall. Loud restaurant in general but a good experience overall. There is valet parking.

We enjoyed a happy hour / dinner last night (Sunday 4-9pm) at P&P. We sat at the bar at a cozy corner. Amazing food and outstanding service. Great deal for their happy hour selections.

This is a well kept and well designed restaurant. It's dimly lit in the first bar area, and has a nice larger dining room that is well lit and good for more formal dinners/celebrations. Most everyone is rather formal in this restaurant, which caught us a bit off guard, but do ensure to dress appropriately, but I appreciate the staff not turning us away in normal Jeans etc. The service was good, but almost too attentive. Our server spent a decent amount of time rearranging our dishes, and serving us some of our sides which is something I just don't enjoy. By the time things were rearranged and served some sides, our steak was already lukewarm as is since it was a pre-sliced bone in steak. Now onto the food. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've ever had, and the mac and cheese was easily excellent. The steak was well cooked with a good temp and not over-seasoned. The starter bread I though were going to be nice fluffy rolls, but were not, they are airy sort of chewy bread that wasn't my favorite.

The steaks here are excellent! The prices are pretty damn reasonable in comparison to some other more hyped establishments. The sides are delish, the service is great and the ambiance is hip business chic. Truly you can't go wrong if you want a delicious cut no matter what you're feeling (filet, ribeye, New York etc) and the drinks are solid. We corked a great bottle of Caymus and the fee wasn't too bad at all. Enjoy!

I stopped by for a birthday dinner for a friend. The restaurant has two floors. The low lighting and decor create a romantic, chill atmosphere. There is no denying that the restaurant is stunning visually. My issue is with the service. Before my friend arrived, I sat at the bar. The bartender did a good job on the drinks, but when I asked where the bathroom was he said it was upstairs. I went upstairs, in high heels, which was a task. When I came back downstairs, a guest and I noticed that there was a bathroom nearby downstairs. We weren't sure why he told me upstairs when it was one nearby. The food was just okay to me. I did like the arugula that came with my crab cake - but everything else I ordered was underwhelming. I understand we were a large party of ten. However, I would have liked for our table to be checked on more. Especially, considering how much we collectively spent on the bill.

Dined here over restaurant week. Though we had a reservation they seated multiple tables who were walk ins before us. We weren't given restaurant week menus initially and when we got them, they brought one menu for three people. Our server wasn't very pleasant at first but once the restaurant cleared out a bit he was cracking jokes and in a better mood. We did have to ask for our drinks and water multiple times. We had the chicken, steak and fish. We added the roasted mushrooms and Mac and cheese as well. Everything was fine. Nothing spectacular but good solid steakhouse food.

Prime & Provisions Steakhouse lies in the heart of Downtown Chicago alongside the river. You will be met with exceptional service and food as this place makes you feel like royalty. They have amazing complimentary bread to start out your meals with. The servers are very knowledgable in their menu and knows what's best according to your likings. We would highly recommend the caesar salad with crab, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and the Porterhouse. We were also given a complimentary dessert for an occasion that we were celebrating and we were very happy and appreciative of the kind gesture. The steakhouse itself has a dark ambiance which fits with the kind of restaurant you want for a steakhouse.

WOULD DEFINITELY recommend. Decide to have Valentine's Day dinner this year at Prime and Provisions. We were a little late due to the snow but nonetheless, we were seated. There was a little un-satisfaction because they seated us at booth right close to the door and my s/o was cold because of her dress. I asked if we could sit at the open table closer into the dining room and they refused but sat everyone after us at those open seats. Either way, we did not let that ruin our night. When we were seated, we were greeted by our waitress, she was wonderful all night. No complaints with her service. They had the Valentine's Day menu which came w 3 course meal with dessert. Our first course was the Thick-cut bacon and Lump Blue Crab Cakes, which were both very good appetizers, definitely recommend the crab cake. Our second course was Caesar Salad, which was satisfactory as well, they did everything right with the salad. For our entrees, we order Short-Braised Ribs and Pan-Seared Salmon with sides of Sautéed Broccoli and Mac & cheese. Our entrees were good but when I tell you that Mac & cheese stole the show! I would recommend that Mac & cheese ALL DAY. I would also recommend that short-braided ribs with the polenta base, was very tender and flavorful in combination with the polenta. Overall food rating would be 9.5/10 (cumulative). All in all, I definitely would recommend this steakhouse if you are looking for highest class of dining in the heart of downtown Chicago. This is a place you bring if you want to impress someone as it gives off a classic, traditional upscale experience. I would come back, but there are so many other upscale dining experiences in Chicago that I need to try before coming back. Would give them 5/5 stars if not for the seating accommodations, which is no knock to the business at all. (4.5 stars)

I came here with my colleagues during a work trip and had the most spectacular time. The atmosphere is cozy, dark and sexy. The staff were all great and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing... We got steaks of course, with recommendation from our waiter, all the sides we got were out of this world, and last but certainly not least, we ordered the sundae bar that is a table side service and it truly blew our minds. Good food is just the bare minimum but the experience really made this place special!

Hello I have a reservation coming up on friday and normally I get the 2 lb australian lobster but i see you don't have it on the menu, is it still available?

I don't remember seeing that. I would call them about the availability of a large lobster.

    Do they accept cash payment?

    I don't think so. Expensive.

What is the parking situation? Near by? Cost? Valet?

Spot Hero and Park Whiz usually list the garage across the street (Lake st address) super cheap. Otherwise they do have valet

Do you guys still serving Sunday buffet and how much it is?

They will have a buffet for mothers day. Regular Sundays will be regular dinner. No buffets anymore.

How far from wrigley field? Coming from California

It's not that far technically in miles, but most would not consider going here and also to Wrigley in one outing. It's about a 25 min train ride.

How good can you see the Art on the Mart from the dining room?

If you are by the windows you can see everything.

    Is the steak halal?

Yes, they use Linz Heritage for their beef which is slaughtered in a halal manner

Do you use Creekstone Farm for your meat?

No, they use Linz Heritage which is also halal

Are they still doing their Sunday brunch with prime rib?

    No.

How does the pricing and food service work? Is a flat rate price per person? If so what does it include?…

It's a typical Chicago style steakhouse the entire menu is à la cart so you'll pay for each item Weatherby an appetizer and a salad a main dish with sides all are priced separately average cost per person with cocktails and $100 per person not…

Is it a lettuce entertain you?

    No, it's DineAmic

Are $1 Oysters still a thing here? If so, what times?

Yes. Sunday-Thursday after 7 in the bar area only. Best oyster special in the city.

Would it be okay if I came here straight from the airport with one piece of luggage?

I would call and ask if they would be able to accommodate you. I am sure they will be able to help you out.

Can you bring your own wine and if you can what is the corkage fee?

There is a corkage fee if you bring your own wine.

Can I wear jeans? I usually wear a shirt, blazer and dark jeans when I go out to dinner.

Yes you can. It's business casual dress yet I've seen jeans each time I've been there!!!!

    Is there anything for vegetarians?

They have four or five interesting salads, but, this place specializes in great cuts of meat. So unless you accompany someone who is a meat eater, it might not be the best choice for a vegetarian.

Would you recommend bringing a 5 month old baby here?

Definitely not. Daytime you might be able to but into the evening... they'd stick out like a sore thumb unfortunately

A seafood birthday dinner has become her tradition, can't say I'm upset about this!! We started off with drinks! Two of us got the Floral Cloud and the other two got the salty air margarita! The salty foam (replacing the traditional salt rim) was perfection!! The presentation of the floral cloud was so cute! For starters we got the patatas bravas, 10/10 would recommend!! The sauce was delicious!! I personally got the poke bowl, it was love at first bite!! While it may not look like a huge portion I was only able to finish 3/4 of it. Shared with the after in an attempt to save room for dessert!! Two of my friends got the scallops and the other got the lobster roll. Scallops were delicious, they shared a bite with me! The lobster roll left me a bit unsatisfied. While it had plenty of meat it lacked lasting flavor!! Now let's talk about the MVP's of the night- Dessert! HIGHLY recommend the key lime pie if you're a fan! It also includes some of that salt foam! The sticky toffee was a huge hit at our table!! And the passion fruit in the flan was a very yummy add on!! We shared the tuna tartar as an appetizer and it was one of the best things i've tried! The presentation was also so fun and pretty, served inside a coconut with plantain chips on the side. I ordered the lobster roll and it was so so so amazing, definitely best i've ever had. The bun was toasted and buttery and the lobster filled with flavor.. I could eat 5 of them!! They also had brought seasoned corn nuts to the table when we were seated and salted caramels for dessert, both fun and yummy. Available only in the bar area, we were able to find a table for two inside by the windows, in spite of it being very packed. Our server was quick to approach our table, even though hubs had wandered over to the bar to order. After I summoned him back, we ordered a couple of Stellas, a Filet Slider and Baked Goat Cheese; each item was $5 on the HH menu. A few minutes later, Hubs waved over our server again to order 4 oysters, which were BOGO during HH. Upon her suggestion, he chose the smaller East Coast oysters. He told me they were really good and he was happy with his choice. I had two good bites of the filet slider & was delighted at how delicious it was. The piece of meat was quite large, especially for $5! Thick & juicy, it was cooked perfectly medium rare. The slider was plated with lots of crispy string fries that were very tasty. Our other app, the baked goat cheese, was served atop a skillet of tomato sauce with four pieces of toasted bread. This was also a delicious plate. Service was very on-point, and we never felt rushed, even after Happy Hour ended. At some point, the pianist arrived & we enjoyed a rousing selection of yacht rock tunes as we finished our beers. My favorite piece of ambiance was the steampunk-powered ceiling fans, even though they probably did very little to circulate the air. The decor was vintage travel, which I loved! I'll definitely return to Hugo's again, at least for Happy Hour, the next time I'm in Chicago's Gold Coast area.
