The ambiance is where this place is at! This was my first time in this area and I absolutely loved the vibe and drinks. We did not order any food as we were waiting for our reservations. But if your looking for a great spot to hang while waiting for the Cubs game (even though I'm a Sox fan) this is the place to be

This place has changed for the worst, their prices have doubled in the last year. 7$ for a PBR, 14$ for a well vodka soda? Will noooo vodkas, been a patron here for years. Time to call it quits. Plus bogus charges of some BS tax and service charges. I get a little increase but 100%? You just lost 100% of my business. Also, this was a random Thursday night.

Cool it's another underground bar. It seems like there's a lot around here. Streeter's Tavern is of course located in the neighborhood of Streeterville. Has to be one of the cheapest places around here and it certainly looks like it. This is an Irish pub but it looks like it could be any pub though. About the most notable thing about it is it looks like a basement. It's because it pretty much is. There's entertainment including beer pong, darts, and a pool table. Beer is cheap. Has $4 specials on bottles and liquor isn't that much more. Coolest thing is the bathroom. There's a window that can be seen through in the bathroom so you can spy on people at the bar while taking a leak. Good place to come and hang. It's kind of like a dank basement to hang out while getting drunk and watching sports. They don't seem to have food anymore but whatever.

Ask the Community - Streeter's Tavern

This place used to have beers from around the world and a "passport" in which you got a stamp when you drank one of them. When filled, you got your name on the wall. I assume since it's not mentioned in the reviews, that you don't do this now?

From what I can tell they've abandoned that. Beer from around the world tends to be of questionable age though, so I kind of get it.

Is the kitchen open as late as the bar?

Thank you for your question, there is no kitchen at Streeter's Tavern, however you are able to order food from Downtown Dog's next door. They are open until 10pm Sunday-Thursday & 2am on Friday and Saturday.

Can I bring a kid with me?

Thank you for your question. You must be 21 or older to enter Streeter's Tavern

We saunter up to our chosen restaurant only to find a sign on the door that says, "closed for private event." Did I mention I was hangry? My husband suggests Jake Melnick's. It was within walking distance ... did I mention it was raining that night? And I was hangry? I was game for anything at that point. We arrived and waited probably four minutes for a table. A couple of the adults ordered a beer, the others ordered a Coke. We ordered a large pretzel and our mains. The pretzel was so good. All the meals were outstanding (a sliced brisket sandwich, some wings, chicken tenders, onion rings and a burger). Service was great. It was a little loud when we first arrived as there was an intense Illinois State basketball game on but as soon as the game ended, it was much quieter. We really enjoyed our meal at Jake's!

There were a lot of TVs all around the bar, so you won't be tilting your head back to watch the game from any angle. Our server was new, but she did a great job with taking everyone's orders and also being very upfront about saying she will ask about the drafts on tap so she can give us an accurate drink selection. The food from Theory never disappoints. Last year, I had the Theory Burger and was delighted by how good it was. This year, I tried the Challah French Toast and it was pleasantly delicious. The Mac and Cheese was also a solid choice, and for $8, they provided a good amount of food! And that Chicken Parm Egg Roll...wow they were so good!! I was skeptical from the name, but this was like having a pizza roll but in egg roll form The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because Theory has severely up charged for the Champions League. I recall last year a reservation was $5/person, but this year they charged $15/person. For this reason, we came in at 9AM opening time for an 8-person table and were able to get one without having to pay the reservation fee. I really like how organized Theory is though, as a sports bar. Service has always been great and I may come again for another game!

The menu items, which come in small portions (tapas size), are very special and not to be found anywhere else. No specific recommendations but would suggest to leave some space for lemon panna cotta. Casual and trendy atmosphere on the Magnificent Mile. Definitely will go back again when in Chicago.
