Cute place and tucked away in a small strip mall but it packs a punch. We come here fairly regularly mainly for a mocha but today we went inside to eat and were amazed at how large the dining area is. Among our group we ordered the biscuits & gravy, a regular breakfast sandwich, an omelet and several drinks. I tried each dish and they were all very yummy and fulfilling. Same with the drinks. No complaints. We ordered at the counter from a super nice staff woman and they bring the food to you at your table. The crew was all women and they were hustling the entire time we were there. There is a lot of artwork and jewelry and other handmade items made by locals for sale in the dining area. That adds a nice touch and hominess to the experience. Well that was unfortunate. After being long time lovers and supporters of perks, it changed ownership and our first experience with the new owners was vastly different. Usually there are 3-4 people working alongside the owner on a weekend morning. This time there were 2. We waited 3 times as long for coffees that tasted much worse... far too sweet and watery. The new owner was extremely overwhelmed. They also evidently raised the prices. We are so disappointed. After hearing through the grapevine that they also raised rent in the rest of the building so much that it is forcing many long time, loved businesses to close or move that have been there for decades, we will not be supporting perks anymore. read more

TLDR; Oh my. I think I'm in love. Yes. Taking a cross country road trip, woke up after a night of tenting, and needed a bite. I was admittedly a pessimist, because the last handful of places we've visited have been in the 'eh' category. We decided to try it anyway. I ordered a caramel macchiato and loaded avocado toast. Husband got the chipotle chicken panini. They warned us that there was a short wait, which turned out to be so worth it. The avocado toast was the absolute best avocado toast I've ever had. The sweet little red onions tied it all together. As soon as we left I told my husband I was going to dream about it lol. I am a bit of a coffee connoisseur. I've worked at coffee shops and this I'm pretty picky when it comes to my coffee. This was one of the best coffees I've ever had. And I don't take my food ratings lightly. I don't even know what it was about the coffee that was so good. I watched them make it and it was as not much different than I've seen elsewhere - but somehow it was just so good. Driving by to North Cascades Park we happened upon Perks. Easy in and out, right off the road with plenty of parking. The interior is cute and clean, with a bit of indoor seating. They have a decent selection of breakfast options, as well as a small selection of pastries. We ordered a breakfast burrito, bacon/egg English muffin sandwich, 2 danishes, a drip coffee, and a latte. The hot food was a bit of a wait, but was handed off fresh and piping hot. The burrito was good, both in taste and size...but the muffin sandwich was the winner, YUM...great flavor with lots of crispy bacon. The girls behind the counter are very nice and accommodating even when busy. Come give them all your business. This place is great. I stayed over night in Concrete for a fishing trip on the Skagit and was glad Perks was there. First, it opens at 5 am for the early risers. It has a full sized espresso machine and my usual two shot, 12 ounce, wet cappuccino was perfect. My breakfast burrito was large and tasty, in fact such a large portion that I enjoyed the second half of it a couple hours later. The baked goods looked tasty, I'll try them next time. This place is a gem with the friendliest service in town, delicious breakfast fare and some fine coffee. It's a counter service type of place but they will bring your food and beverge to the table and will bus the table for you. I ordered a plate with ham, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and wheat toast and a 20 oz latte. There were only 2 ladies working (one was the barista and cashier and the other was on the grill) and the place was busy inside and out/drive-thru but they were able to manage a reasonably fast service with a side of smile. I enjoyed my coffee and my breakfast. The food was prepared well, the serving was enough to feed 2 of me and I have no complaints. My latte was delicious. I wish I was able to stop by another time. It's nothing fancy inside but organized and clean which is a big plus to me! They seem to have mostly regulars but if you're not, they treat you just as wonderfully as if you've been there so many times before except they won't know your order by heart like they do their regulars! If I ever find myself in this town again, I will surely be back. If you're from out of town or out of state, I highly recommend stopping in and grabbing a bite and a drink! read more

This coffee shop and deli is a must try. The drive up was beautiful and scenic and this was the perfect spot for lunch. Friendly staff, delicious coffee. We were up camping in the mountains and got rained on all night, we had our hearts set on the awesome pancakes at Perks, drove down the mountain into cellphone range and called in our pancakes, only to find out that Skagit Counties best pancakes were taken off the menu, along with their entire selection of grilled breakfast items. We both had total meltdown. The other place in Concrete we used to order pancakes at is now an Asian Restaurant. We went to the coffee shop and got Bagels. To find so many vegetarian options in a place like Comcrete, WA was such a pleasant surprise. The food was fresh and made with such warmth. The owners were so so nice. An unexpectedly brilliant start to the day! We were on the lookout for a breakfast/brunch place which was not a typical diner. The place we thought we'd go to was closed unfortunately. We happened to come across Perks which was in the same neighborhood and decided to just go there since we had a long hard day coming up. Absolutely loved everything they served us right from bagels to the veggie sandwich. Friends who ordered egg and meat sandwiches enjoyed their meal too.
