I do not recommend this place in any way, they are very bad educated people and the instructor Alma is a very bad educated person, they stole my money and I did not learn anything with them I asked them a question when I took classes with them regarding all these bad comments and His answer was that they are all people who did not learn and somehow were not happy, do not invest your money in this very poor quality school I pay them for a complete package and the worst thing is that they did not comply with the agreement. DO NOT RECOMMEND If 0 was a choice I'd choose it. One of the worst driving schools. The customer service is terrible. The lady at the desk makes appointment and clearly doesn't write them down. She constantly told me that she never told me my lesson was on a specific day or time. I was sent back 2 times being told that 1. My appointment was an hour later and 2. She also claimed she never reschedule my missing lesson; when she clearly did and I showed up the day and time of my lesson...and she said that she never told me when my new lesson was. This is the worst place to conduct any business here. I called two days ago and told them i needed a copy for my 5 hour certificate cause i lost the first one and they told me 30$ and I said ok. I came in and and she tried to charge me 35$ . After constant back and forth for 7 minutes she then remembered i talked to her on the phone two days earlier. Then said ok for for the 30$, these people are scammers and they dont have a set price, extremely unprofessional! Im so angry and wouldn't recommend anybody to this place. I had an appointment for my driving test, so when I did appear to it they ask me for my permit card (plastic one) so at the time of my 5hr video I specifically say I haven't received in the mail, as they answer me "it's ok don't worry" so previously when I get my 5 hr certificate they ask me "do you want us to schedule your drivers test?" I was like yes sure BUT I ONLY HAVE THE PAPER PERMIT DO YOU WANT ME TO SHOWED TO YOU? She said again NO ITS OK, btw I payed the fully amount she ask for appointment and car (since I didn't want to use my car) anyway time for my driving test comes and she's like can I have your permit (plastic card) as I reply "told you several times I haven't receive it in the mail yet" and she was like oh sorry you can't do your test today we gonna have to reschedule it when you get the card in the mail, (but remember previously I'd payed full for everything, so guess what? It was their mistake cause I did mention several times "I don't have plastic permit yet" so anyways now for my second appointment they ask me to pay again for the appointment , since I missed my first appointment thanks to them, so if I'd already payed for the appointment, why do I have to payed for 2nd one? Anyways girls there are rude on the lay low, they act like they are doing you a FAVOR, meanwhile is the other way around, I WONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO NO ONE, not even my worst enemy..... read more

I received their $300 package as a Xmas gift about 2 years ago. When I used it the instructor I had was the young Alma. She was nice and very helpful. However, during first attempt at the drivers test they said I was going 25mph and I should've been doing 30. When I stated that my instructor said to do 25 they said that was incorrect. The second time I took it Alma was nowhere to be found. So I ended up with the older Alma who was very strict and nonchalant about any of my concerns. When me and the other boy took our turns we told her the brake pads were very stiff and you had to slam on them in order to brake! Her response" Oh?! This isn't my car so idk you'll have to tell your instructor." Mind you, SHES the manager of the place!! Smh. NEVER again will I go back nor do i recommend this place! read more

Only reason i went to this place over other driving schools was because my parents forced me. Scheduling was terrible, the staff was extremely unprofessional. I got the 10 lesson pack and didn't have lessons for weeks in between. Save your money and go to a place that will actually cares about their customers. read more

I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars. Absolutely unprofessional. They took full payment for all the lessons and then started making excuses and rescheduling appointments. They seem to think people are just sitting around at home with all the free time. The lady at the desk "Darlene" makes appointments and doesnt add them in her schedule and when you show up they act surprised stating oh you had a class scheduled we did not even know. They openly lie about calling and rescheduling appointments. Then when you catch them in their lie they say , " Lets just move forward". So you are going to take my money, lie about appoinments keep cancelling on me and when I ask why you are going to tell me to "move forward" !? Considering they have been around for a long time , their establishment is extremely disorganized and no one there knows what the other person is doing. My advice is to stay away and choose another school. read more

Alma is the worst driving instructor she talks to much shit about others with students! but the way they schedule your classes it'll be like one class or two a month so unorganized, when not knowing how to drive you should take continuous classes not once a month classes then you end up forgetting what you learned... Alma is an okay teacher she teaches you everything you need to learn for the road test, it's they're so unorganized i'll recommend another driving school then this one. read more

Disorganized, run on a shoestring, and the manager is rude! Trying PAS auto school instead. I paid in advance for five lessons over the phone. I arranged to meet the driver for my first lesson at the La Perla School, which is located on an overcrowded block where there is no parking, in Yonkers. When I got there the manager told me that they had no record of my reservation for this lesson or any of the other four, and that their credit card machine had been removed two weeks ago so they were no longer able to take reservations on credit. We couldn't check with the secretary to find out whether she had a record of my payment and conversation, let alone my reservation for that day, because the SECRETARY was giving someone an oral driving test or lesson of some kind and couldn't be interrupted. The owner didn't apologize for losing my reservation or worry about whether we'd been charged for the five lessons I bought, evidently right before they had to give up their credit card machine. I'd stay as far away from this place, and certainly from this owner, as possible. Badly run, bad manners, bad location, just not worth it! We are going to try PAS Auto School instead...they also pick up in Yonkers. I'm not associated with them, I just thought it was interesting that they are listed in Tarrytown but also serve Yonkers, and might be convenient for someone who would have otherwise contacted the atrocious Perla's. read more

Generally positive experience with Perla's Driving School. As an adult learning to drive, it was good to take lessons with someone patient and fairly low-key. Carlos was both. Did a package of ten lessons and was picked up at work on time every time. There were minor difficulties with snow days, but I was able to reschedule those fairly easily. For me learning to drive was all about my confidence levels and Carlos was encouraging AND didn't let me weasel out of doing things that were difficult for me. He pushed me just enough that I knew I was being pushed but not so much that I ended up freaking out. I passed my test without problems and I guess that's the best indicator, right? I'd recommend Perla's to other people in Yonkers who are learning to drive. read more

I did my 5 hr class and used their car for my driving test. At first for the 5 hr class i was upset because i felt the lady was rude with attitude but i took a chance to continue with them and pay for their services to take me to my driving test and I'm glad i did. Love this place! Would definitely refer someone. read more

Alma is a very good instructor she taught me what I need to know for the road test. Too bad I failed because of my nerves but I would highly recommend her because she always made me feel comfortable behind the wheel and gave me the extra confidence I needed to learn the driving skills needed to pass the test. Worse experience ever wish I cud give no stars... I paid $95 to use there car for my road test the car was so old,the brakes where delayed.the petal was to the floor and still not stopping..I failed my test because of this old car.when I went back to the office to speak with the rude manager her first words where take me to small claims court.I let her know I wasn't leaving with out my money asked to speak to the owner she looked at me and laughed and told me they'll be back in 3 moths as if this is funny.she ended up calling the cops on me because I wasn't leaving with out my money,when the cops arrive this crazy lady told them I was treating her name she fear for her safety.. thank god the cops seen thru her b.s.. the end result was she decided to give me a check for only half of my money in which I'm gartful I got anything back... read more
