    Stuff to eat

Filipino food Oak Harbor! This is a turo-turo (point point) eatery so there is food in warming trays, cafeteria style. Also attached is a filipino convenience store so you can stock up on mama sita products or silver swan soy sauce. I got pork sinigang which was perfect on this cold blustery day! Lechon kawali (or bagnet) i got looked promising but sadly the skin was not crispy at all and a bit chewy. This should not deter you from checking this place out. Staff seemed very friendly! They also had humba, tortang talong and pinakbet which looked good but i didnt get to try.

Craving Filipino food, Perlas will satisfy it. BUT, it's always been a hit or miss whenever I order Lumpia or Pancit. Depending on who's cooking will I order food "to go." The last lumpia I ordered it was made with beef. It was so dry, not sure why because I've always had the pork. Pancit was over cooked that the noodles were in little pieces, too much water was used that it was soaked on the bottom of the container. Carrots and cabbage were over cooked that it was waaaay to soft. Too much soy sauce was used so it was very salty. I always make sure Ate' Dina is working because I know she'll cook my food perfectly! Everyone there is super friendly and her grocery store is stocked with many items you would need. If you can't find it there, head over to Saars Market that's 10 mins away.

Yum! I was visiting Whidbey for a few days and stopped here to pick up some takeout. I got a banana lumpia, which I ate immediately: it was warm, crispy on the outside, with a soft cooked plantain on the inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. I picked up some chicken adobo and steamed veggies to go. The adobo was so flavorful, a bit salty but that's the nature of the dish. I definitely recommend stopping here for some delicious Filipino food and any grocery needs you may have.

I try to take my family to Perla's Oriental at least once a month. Their food is so good especially the Pinakbet.

Went in because I wanted something to snack on. The lumpia was tasty. Prices are a little on the higher side.

It's okay, I love the meat buns they have. Chicken and pork. :) other than that, I don't know what everything else is like.

It's located in the corner of a warehouse type complex with a more pick up/to go service. They offer an array of frozen and made to go items, but ended up going with the pork lumpia and pineapple rolls. Service was very friendly! It cost about $10 for 6 lumpia rolls and $6 for the frozen pineapple dinner rolls. Still recovering from the sheer goodness of the lumpia! Perfectly cooked and flavored - they were crispy and anything you could ever want! Would def come back to try their other items.

Wanting to support our local food vendors we bought a platter of Lumpia and Hum Bao to nosh on today. I could hardly contain myself in the car it smelled so good. I knew about the Hum Bao when I saw one of my buddies munching on one a while back. The Hum Bao we have was baked to a nice golden brown. I like the steamed ones as well and I think that is an option there. I'm definitely going to avail myself of the plate lunches once things open up in Island County. Right now only one person is allowed in the lobby at a time and there is no outdoor dining option at this location. Cristy is diligent about sanitizing between customers and she cleans the touched surfaces between customers. Front door included. I look forward to patronizing their place in the future.

I thought that things are better than last time with freshness, and quality on things like the sushi, salad bar, and other specialties it seemed. They kept things pretty well refilled and by they I mostly mean one very hard working older lady that also has to deal with peoples children's spills! But honestly it's funny to watch the kids have so much fun after church at a buffet. One 6 year old girl who's big brother in a suit and tie reach for plates full of just hard boil egg halves from the salad bar!! They were elated! So there is entertainment here too! It's still just a basic Chinese buffet but I think that most people can find their few go to items and really go to town and feel they got their moneys worth.

Staff could clearly see the trays were empty, yet customers were left waiting for small batches to come out every 15-20 minutes. At one point, only about 10 pieces of crab legs were added before they disappeared again immediately. For a place that advertises itself as a buffet, the food availability really did not match expectations. It felt frustrating paying buffet prices while constantly waiting for popular items to be restocked. I think the restaurant could improve a lot by refilling food more consistently during busy hours and preparing larger batches of high-demand items like crab legs so customers can actually enjoy the buffet experience instead of waiting for it to be filled.
