I'm a home remodeling contractor...been in business for 37 years. For the last 30 years, I've recommended Perry Hall Heating & Air conditioning to all of my customers, and I've used them on all of my room additions and sunrooms. In addition to my business relationship with them, In the past three years, they've installed three new systems in my home. Three days ago my ecobee electronic thermostat went completely black, it wouldn't light up and my air conditioner wasn't working and this was on a brutally hot 95° day. I texted Rob who is the salesman that I always deal with and he called me just two minutes later. He helped me troubleshoot my system, and through the process of elimination he determined that my condensate pump was not working properly, and that a safety feature shut the system down so that my basement wouldn't flood. He gave me instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall the condensate pump and within 15 minutes he figured out that float switch was stuck preventing the water from being pumped out. He told me what to do to fix it, and just 20 minutes after my initial text message my air conditioning and my thermostat were up and running again. That was four days ago and I haven't had any problems since. This all happened after hours at around 7 PM... so that pretty much says it all... This is the only company that I will recommend because I know that they will do an excellent job at a fair price and their service is outstanding. Wow! What a great company. I'm so grateful we switched. The other AC company we were using only showed up once out of the twice yearly maintenance and refused to give us a credit. Bryan from Perry Hall showed up timely and was extremely knowledgeable. The AC filter we were using as suggested by previous company was wrong. He told us the correct filter to use. You also get a packet in the mail with the maintenance plan and a postcard telling you that you are due for a service. What a relief. It's nice to have a professional and reliable AC/Heating company. I had great service from this company when my air conditioner broke. They quickly sent out a technician and discovered a bad coil in our unit. As soon as the part came in they scheduled a time just a day or so later. Special thanks to Shawn for discovering the leak in the coil and to Brennan and Charlie who replaced the coil. Meh. Charged 125 for a service visit, didn't have replacement filters and wouldn't wait for me to get them. Granted the external cooling system is on the roof- just said he couldn't access it and didn't really try or offer suggestions. Not terrible but also not best of baltimore. I called alpha hvac and asked if they could access the roof and they said no problem. Heard great things about them from my neighbors- will let you all know.... read more

This company did a good job installing a furnace one year ago, but when they were at our home for the included annual maintenance I asked for a check up of another furnace that was not responding properly to the thermostat. That cost $75 (while they were already on site) and it was determined a new thermostat was needed. (Honeywell wi-fi stat failed after four years). They returned two days later for a 15 minute job to replace stat to the tune of $425. This same stat can be purchased on Amazon for $145. Total time on this job - less than an an hour. With an hourly rate of $100 plus mark up on stat this should have been mid $300 at most. They wouldn't even deduct initial fee for diagnosis that would have brought it to 350. And there is no invoice showing parts and labor cost. Boss Pete said they just charge by the job. Don't know if others have felt price-gouged like this but they must not want repeat customers for services. read more

Kevin the foreman was great as was whole crew..had from 3-5 guys there for 5 days...other than hammering at times..wouldn't know they were there...covered everywhere they walked with tarps...cleaned up every day...updated us every day as to progress ... so they basically did a great job, with friendly service, cleaned up & had great communication Will definitely use them when comes time to replace my main system! read more

There was nothing lower than one star, so here is the story. Three months ago we had our two AC units serviced by them. Saturday morning one AC unit goes down. BUT, this non-service business is CLOSED on Saturday afternoon and Sunday in the summer, and have limited weekly hours! Even if you have a contract, you need to leave a voicemail message! We had to call another service, who came early Sunday morning, gave us a fair price for repair (no upcharge on weekends), explained everything (not like Perry Hall), and showed us what was left undone. We have now contracted with the new, customer friendly firm, and will remove these guys from our list forever. read more

From the initial call to set up an appt (next day and this was the first time we'd spoken with them) to the arrival of the technician Kevin everything was stellar. I probably should call him an HVAC wizard...he put two worried homeowners at ease about our 25 year old gas furnace. He thoroughly cleaned and serviced not only the unit inside,but the air intakes outside. He explained to us how the components functioned, and what were the trouble signs to watch for. Let's start with honesty, every tech so far has not BS'ed us and tried to either sell us something we didn't need, or over bloat the repair charges. Quick, very reliable, totally professional! Get this... at 1:45 on this brutally hot day I noticed it getting warm in here. After checking for something obvious, called them figuring it will be very late, or maybe not until tomorrow given this heat makes problems. Seven years ago in a summer sweltering day, I called Perry Hall H & AC as suggested by my plumber. They immediately came and fixed my AC and I never had another problem cooling my home. Now, this winter I awoke to a freezing house. Remembering how pleased I was with Perry Hall H&AC I called them to fix my furnace. My equipment was 26 years old and the serviceman suggested that I look into replacing it, but he did get the heat to work. I scheduled an appointment to see about a new system, without pricing other companies, because I trusted them to be fair and competitive. I ordered the new system and the band aid that was applied to my furnace worked until it did not one freezing day. Because of the supply problems resulting from the pandemic, I was given the delivery date of February 7, but this was December! I called PHHAC and this time, a serviceman came to remove the bad motor and replaced it with a loaned motor until my new system is installed. There was no charge for the service call! Now that is what I say is an outstanding business policy when concern is shown to their customers and not the bottom line! read more

We got a few quotes for a new AC unit and they were the most reasonable. I asked for new copper lines and they didn't charge me more. They came and replaced the system and didn't upsell me. I got a similar unit which provided all I needed. Best of all they cleaned my furnace closet and floor where the unit would be. Really went the extra mile. The guys on site left the place clean at the end of every day and good at answering all questions, which I had alot of because I had to coordinate and get my own electrician. What Perry Hall Heating and Air Conditioning failed to mention in their response is that the item under warranty would not have malfunctioned if the original installer (PH Heating) had told us that there was a battery back-up in the thermostat that would need to be changed annually. Given they dropped the ball at the onset we sincerely believed they would have taken that into account in the pricing--honestly in business just doesn't exist anymore. read more

Last year I paid these people $80.00 for a "winter tune-up" of my gas heating unit. Instead of a tune-up, the guy who showed up told me that my entire unit needed to be replaced. He then extinguished the pilot light because my unit was "unsafe". This was in the middle of winter! I guess he figured that my wife and children would be so cold that we would hire them immediately. Fortunately, I knew how to reignite the pilot light. A year later the unit is still running and heating my house. I would not trust these people to take out my trash. Although a year has passed, I am still mad about what they tried to do. read more

First I want to say the first impression was great when I scheduled my appt with the nice lady on the phone, however the guy they sent to my home 5 days before Xmas clearly did not feel like working. He was not friendly then lied to owner about the job that needed to be done that the owner told him to say he couldn't do the job and he left without putting back the wires he unhooked to do the job (what a Scrooge) but I found another company thanks to Yelp that saved xmas for my family so that we could sit around our tree warm and happy and for half the cost this guy was trying to charge. I purchased a home last winter. The previous homeowner has a service policy with Perry Hall Heating & A/C. When i called to see if i could keep the service contact the lady on the phone was very nice and said all they ha to do was send someone out to inspect the unit and to make sure it was working. They sent someone the same day and everything was working fine and the contract was accepted. Fast forward to July 22,2020. One of the hottest days of the year with the heat index well over 100. I noticed the temperature in the house kept getting warmer. At about 230 pm i contacted Perry Hall Heating & Air. They said they would have someone out later that day. Less then an hour later a technician arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor. He had one on the truck and i was fixed in less then an hour.
