My hot water went out and I called in the morning, they had a guy out at noon, and finished the replacement within a few hours. James did a great job and was a very nice person! I called Amazing after hearing ads on local radio. The salesman gave a solid proposal and explained the system we would get and why Lennox was the top choice of brands today. He was patient and answered all our questions. Though I believe the estimate was high, I also believed we would get a premium system with premium service. The techs came on time and knew the job (install furnace and A/C). All was going well; they finished when they said they would. My husband and I went out. When we returned an hour later, we found that the supply line to the humidifier popped off - water spewing all over our basement! My husband said he told the tech the line was leaking, but the tech brushed him off, replying, 'it's just spray'. I called the Amazing salesman. He asked for photos to share with the Installation Manager who immediately called. He drove 90 min. to get to us that night, bringing two industrial fans. In the meantime we were hard at work with our shop vac sucking up the mess, moving furniture and anything that was wet on the floor. We spent 3 hours on Friday night doing this plus several hours on Sunday to put everything back together. The Manager couldn't have been more apologetic. He admitted the tech's mistake of using plastic hose because copper should have been used the entire way. He promised to make us whole. I told him I wanted monetary compensation. On Monday the manager arranged the tech (who did NOT apologize for his mistake) to return to fix the hose at our convenience. He offered me an upgraded smart thermostat and $1000. To be honest I felt $1000 was insufficient for our trouble, but I spoke to the Operations Manager who offered me a 2nd year of Comfort Club and made a good argument for the $1000 that I did not feel was necessary for me to further escalate. In the end we got our system, but not without extreme inconvenience. I had high hopes for Amazing but ultimately was disappointed by this careless mistake from a company who advertises having the best. read more

I had a whole HVAC system put in in 2016 (I believe). Since then, I've no issues, the system is great. HOWEVER, a few years ago I needed a new hot water heater, BGE installed it. The tech said my HVAC system was installed incorrectly. He showed me a small separation in a seam and air was escaping. No big deal UNTIL now. That small separation has turned into a GAP that a lot of air is escaping. My basement is freezing, my third floor feels like hell. A 2nd professional in THEIR industry told me the exact same thing, installed incorrectly. Michelle their "manager" tried to use my words against me because I said I didn't think the system was installed incorrectly, WTF do I know, I turn it on air/heat comes out. Imagine my electric bill with that GAPPING HOLE in it. BUT, THEY INSIST on charging me $99 to come look it. TWO people in THEIR industry says it was incorrectly installed. Over time, they regularly recommended optional add-ons like air purification upgrades, but I always felt the quoted prices were quite high. Curious, I researched the components and found that they are simple to test and replace at a total cost of $51.76. I bought a multimeter and discovered my capacitor was functioning within normal range (38.34 µF out of a 40 µF rating), contrary to the technician's claim, given that there less than a 10% difference. To confirm, I hired a second HVAC tech who said the capacitor was fine, and the contactor, while slightly worn, didn't need immediate replacement. At that point, I had already bought the parts, so I replaced them myself--in just 30 minutes. Despite receiving an apology from Amazing HVAC phone operator and being told a manager would follow up, I never received a call, even weeks later. I used to recommend Amazing HVAC as an honest but expensive company. Unfortunately, this experience revealed what I see as a troubling pattern: overpriced services, upselling unnecessary repairs, and a lack of follow-through on customer concerns. If you choose to work with them, I strongly suggest getting a second opinion on any recommended service. Had our unit replaced last April and everything went great. Thermostat they installed only had a 1yr warranty, and it recently started acting up whenever the power would go out. Overall it worked, it would just get stuck whenever we had a power outage. We finally called to have someone come check it out. When the tech replaced the thermostat with the exact same one we had before, we thought he must have wired something backwards because he had it set to "cool" and an hour later (after he left) our house went from 73 to 82, on the cool setting. After playing with the thermostat, it became clear to us that hot was cool, and cool was hot. We called Amazing back at 530 (an hour after the tech left), and they said they cant get someone out until tomorrow. I was super annoyed - as a comfort plus or whatever its called member, I assumed it came with the perk of "we messed something up an hour ago, we'll send someone right out to fix it." As promised I'm updating my review from 1 star to 4 stars because they did send someone out the next day, and it took him all of 5 minutes to fix it and it was done at no charge to us. Lesson learned - If you have a Rheem system and they change your thermostat, please be sure to double check it's working properly before your tech leaves. The technician came and spent a short amount of time looking at the problem (a leak). After removing a panel from the wall, he advised me that it was a water treatment appliance and he would have to check with 'the boss' to see if he was allowed near it. After 15 mins out at his van, he confirmed that 'the boss' said he was not allowed to touch it as they don't fix water treatment appliances. He closed it up and took my $99 call out fee from me, told me to contact a company that specializes in water treatment and left (the whole process took approx 1 hr). Upon further inspection after the technician had left, I saw that the appliance had 'instantaneous hot water' written on the front. I called out a different company the next day (further expense) who confirmed that it was indeed an instantaneous hot water appliance. After thorough inspection, they gave me several options and quotes. So....the Amazing technician game me the WRONG information and charged me $99. I have since emailed them several times asking for a response - radio silence. Nothing. I have been very disappointed by both their service and response. Today Alex came to check on my new system that I purchased in March. I've lived in this townhouse for years and have always complained the the second floor would never cool. Since I purchased my new system I haven't complained once. Alex was very friendly and efficient. He told me that my system was was high efficiency and that it might be a good idea to get a surge protector especially with all of the crazy weather storms. I didn't even blink and said yes. I'm so thankful I found this company right down to meeting the owner and his son. Josh was a great salesman. He explained in detail all of my options with no pressure in deciding. Every single person from the beginning to the end have been the best and their employees enjoy working for them. After waiting 4 hours for the technicians to arrive I received a text that I would be rescheduled until the next day. About an hour later they show up. After explaining the problem they began checking the wiring of the system using the schematic diagram that was on the access panel. They asked me if I was the one who wired the system or was that the way it originally wired. I showed them pics that I had taken in 2019 when I first started having problems. They confirmed that the pictures show they way it is currently wired. They lead technician stated that the way it is wired is not correct that one of the neutral wire connections is in the wrong place. The other technician who was writing the bill told me for them to correct it, it would be $417 for him to move the connector. Pretty steep price just to move a connector on a board and considering the way advertise their company. They tested the AC and the heat to make sure everything worked. Also gave me estimates for a lot of preventative work that cost thousands of dollars that would of cost the same amount as a new system since the AC side was replaced less than 5 years ago. As they were leaving I recall that the billing tech pulled the condensate pump as they walked out the door. The AC was on that night when I went to bed but when I woke up in the morning the system would not work. I went and started looking the system over and noticed the pump unplugged. As soon as I plugged it back it started draining the excess condensate out the AC started back up. Did they do this on purpose so they could return and charge me more after paying them $517.60 probably. I will never use them again. They do not provide the caring services that you hear them advertise on the radio. read more

Unfortunately, I feel compelled to recommend that people should AVOID Amazing Heating & Air Conditioning Company at all costs if you are seeking professional Air & Heating Company (HVAC) maintenance and/or repair. In addition to avoiding opportunities for newly created issues during repair that did not previously exist resulting in driving up your repair costs. We hired Amazing Heating & Air Conditioning Company that dispatched multiple technicians to address our issue and each representative stated that the unit was working properly and as soon as each left the issue persisted. The technicians were friendly and seem knowledgeable, but we later discovered that the first technician compounded our issue resulting in needing additional repairs. This was due to one of technicians improperly replacing the lines in the attic which in turn caused water damage. Another technician dispatched to our home dropped a tool in the attic that fell through the ceiling and landed between couch cushions and leaving a gaping hole in the ceiling. When we spoke to a manager the next morning the manager was a bit defensive and accused us of leaving the tool in the attic when we changed our air filters where in fact we do not access the attic to replace the filters as we have access to change the filters in the hallway. Ultimately after the manager saw the damage firsthand and sent a contractor to repair the damage. In the interim, we got a second opinion from another HVAC company and we were informed that the work Amazing Heating & Air Conditioning had done was improperly executed and it was only a matter of time before the system would fail causing more costly damage. We recommend others to do your research prior to hiring Amazing Heating & Air Conditioning Company to work on your HVAC system and seek another HVAC company to avoid any similar issues that we have experienced. What is really disappointing is that the Amazing Heating & Air Conditioning Company was listed in the Local Best Pick Report, so buyers beware and don't believe the misleading radio ads. read more

Judge for Yourself I called Amazing for an issue with my split AC unit. It was not an emergency, but they sent someone the same day that I called, which I appreciated very much. To be fair, the error code on my remote control said that it was an issue with low refrigerant. I thought that was odd for a unit that isn't even 3 years old, but I'm not an expert with HVAC, so I called Amazing for help. I've heard many radio commercials for Amazing and had a good feeling about the company based on the stories that the owner tells in his ads. The tech arrived on time, ran a diagnostic check through the remote (the same procedure that I had done), and came to the same conclusion that I did. After she opened up the compressor, she made several phone calls that lasted 10-15 minutes. Then, she said that she didn't have the right attachment to connect her meter to a Daikin unit. In the meantime, she came up with a plan of work, which included removing the refrigerant, testing for leaks, sealing any identified leaks, and refilling the refrigerant. The quote was $5300 for a unit that cost me less than $2K brand new. That isn't a typo. The quote really was $5300. The tech left to get the connector for the meter, but not before letting me know that (a) she might not be able to actually make any repairs that same day and (b) there would be a $99 cost for the home visit. I protested, saying that she didn't give me any information that I hadn't already told her myself, and no repairs were made. I stated that I shouldn't have to pay for that day's visit, and she said I would need to speak to the service manager. I called the office and asked to speak to that person. I'm not trying to disparage the tech at all. I just really thought I'd get more help than I did. To her credit, the tech was courteous, even when I expressed my disappointment in the visit. A few minutes after I called the office, a service manager called me and was very professional and reassuring. I shared my concern that the tech who came to my house didn't have the right tools and gave me an exorbitant quote. He told me that he would send a more senior employee in a few days, and I became a bit more hopeful. Unfortunately, he also reinforced the message that the plan of work that was described to me by the first tech was the appropriate course of action. Maybe...maybe not. You might call it intuition or cynicism, but I felt in my gut that something wasn't right with the plan of work. Plus, I just didn't have faith that this was going to end well. The next morning, I called and cancelled the follow-up visit and said that I was grateful to the service manager for trying to make things right, but I decided to go with another repair company. Out of curiosity, I started Googling the issue that I was having with my split AC, and guess what? One Reddit user suggested resetting the unit at the circuit breaker. I did exactly that, and voila! My split AC is working just fine. Apparently, power fluctuations can sometimes trigger error codes. If this had been a problem with my computer and not my AC, my first course of action would have been to reboot it. I don't know why I didn't think of that when my split-air unit had an error code. I should have tried that from the start . . . but I would also think that an experienced and knowledgeable technician should have thought of that idea. Of course, I'll follow up by getting the unit serviced and checked out, but I'll be calling a different company for that. You only get one chance to make a good first impression, after all. I've read many positive reviews of Amazing, and I'm not trying to discount any of the great work they must have done for others. My experience was different though. To their credit, they didn't charge me the $99 fee for the fruitless visit. I also have to say that everyone I spoke with on the phone was pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in helping with my HVAC issue. I don't write reviews like this lightly, and I've intentionally tried to keep this one as objective as possible, so readers can reach their own conclusions. I have to be honest and own my part in this. I probably sent the technician down a rabbit hole by disclosing that I had run my own diagnostic check and found that the issue was low refrigerant. Perhaps the technician would have tried to reset the unit had I not clouded the visit with an erroneous hypothesis. I'll also admit that during this experience, the staff at Amazing remained calm, even when I did not. What I'm not willing to own, though, is that the tech was not prepared, and she offered me a solution that turned out to be unnecessary. This experience begged the question: how many people don't push back on high estimates like this and then end up paying for repairs that aren't needed? I want to point out that the proposed repair cost was more than double the amount that I would have paid for new split-AC equipment. I've learned my lesson. Always do your research. read more

I had an appointment set for Friday, May 16th, after 1:30 PM. Needless to say, by 4:15, there was no idea when the tech would arrive, I kept getting "he is still at a call, your next." I spoke to Emily and ended up rescheduling, she put me on for the next morning. Next morning, a very nice young man came out, we told him what the issue was. He looked and looked, was dumbfounded, took some pics and said it needed to be replaced, that there was nothing else that could be done. He then called the office and scheduled to have a salesman out to look at my system. Charged my $100 and off he went. Salesman came out, my boyfriend interacted with him, however, he said the same thing... need s to be completely replaced. It was all wrong. Side note, it is 1.5 yrs old and was installed wrong by an crooked contractor). We were told we would have an estimate within a week. May 24th. I reached out via email because I hadn't received an estimate. Not a word. May 28th or 29th, I reached out via their website. I received a text from Emily asking if she could help, I told her thst I was still waiting on an estimate. She said she would reach out to my salesman and I would hear something. It is now June 3rd and not one word, call or estimate. This company is not what they advertise...taking care of customers with out breaking the bank, try to repair vs replace, customers time... Extremely disappointed with the service and value I received from them. They installed mini-split units in my house but payed no attention to detail AT ALL. Had to have to people come out and act like I should have been an expert in installing AC when THEY caused the problems during installation: 1) Didn't seal the outside lines properly and had flooding in my basement from rain. 2) Didn't properly place the lines so that I couldn't replace the drywall 3) Placed a drain line in my living room in the middle of the wall in way that it was impossible for me to make the repair to the wall. So now not only did I over pay for installation and repairs, I am out more money for repairs I have to make on my home. PS- When I complained about the price, I even heard the manager say IT WAS THEIR FAULT on the phone but only received a small discount. Not amazing at all! I wanted to replace my HVAC system, both the condenser and the furnace, prior to them giving me problems. I got 3 bids initially, but had a quote from a fourth after the fact. 1- SERVICE....Hard sell tactics, that guaranteed I would get a premium installation and fantastic customer service. I got neither! Total frustration instead. 2- VALUE....I paid way too much! I went with them believing if I paid more I would get a better installation and premium service. I paid a lot more. Two other quotes for same exact system was thousands less with one company and just over a thousand less with another. 3-The people I encountered: The sales rep told me I would regret going with anyone else. He didn't give me options, kept saying other unit brands were a cheap contractor grade and that I wouldn't want it, kept telling me what a great price he was giving me. Once the appointment for installation came he was not to be heard from again. The next level, the design engineer, spent time spinning the story why they installed it the way they did and then didn't return calls. The operations manager was the most informative but so non-customer service related. This company could be good for they have the man power, but maybe greed has gotten in the way. I could have gone with two other companies that would have done the work for a lot less. The third company was also cheaper but offering a different product, so I can't compare exactly. I will never get back the many hours I spent trying to communicate with Amazing, and in the end felt powerless, frustrated, and scammed. Live and learn. read more

I see that others have had some subpar experiences, but I can only tell you about what I personally encountered. I will also note that they have 4.7 stars average of over 800 reviews on Google. I had heard some good things from people in the neighborhood and so I called them out to take a look at my HVAC system. The system had been hobbling along on its last legs for some time, was 22 years old at this point, and just all around giving me trouble. When I called I got a person who was able to assist me right away, the appointment was scheduled for later in the same week, and the technician arrived right on time. He was honest and clear about his findings, and took his time to make sure he analyzed every aspect of the heating and cooling to figure out exactly what the issues were. It ended up making a lot more sense to just order a new system at this point, and the very next day I had someone out to scope the project. I was able to get something way more energy efficient which is always a plus, they didn't try and upsell me on a whole bunch of stuff as others have mentioned, and they took the specifics of my house and household into consideration when making their recommendations. Fast forward to the next week and it is already fully installed. The techs that did the install were similarly professional and great to deal with, and everything went quickly and painlessly. The new system works perfectly, the people that I dealt with at Amazing were all hugely helpful, and I feel comfortable recommending them to others. People I spoke with for reference included Greg, Anthony, Jamal, and Zak. Each one of them is an asset to the company. read more

One star is too big for these guys. When the technician was here i happened to go downstairs to do something and there is water gushing from the bottom of the hot water heater. The technician was not even paying attention to it. I said do you need a towel its gushing water? He said yea i might need a towel. I used every last towel in my house. He had no rags, towels, fans, nothing. He didn't turn of the main water when he started cutting the lines to the water heater. Not only did it flood the floor of the basement it sprayed two high black shelves and ruined some personal momentos from the military I can never get back. It sprayed my shelves, flooded my basement and his response was that i was overreacting. If I hadn't gone down there shut off the water and my daughters and i grabbed all the towels and started damage control it would have been a catastrophe. When calling for managers and trying to say we need someone here the basement is flooding they pick up the phone and talk non chalantly like they dont give two turds because its not their hot water heater or ac. Managers apology was he bought us some towels. No ffer to repaint now cracking flloor, reimbursment for the water damage, no discount. Turns out one of his managers actually told him to NOT do anything with the water heater till he gets there. So complelety avoidable disaster. But yea, towels. They keep metion towels and don't seem to realize i don't give a shit about the towels. If I hadn't gone down there shut off the water and got every last towel in my house and my daughters got down there to salvage his mistake what was going to happen? Had no towels, no rags, no fans nothing. I can buy wal mart towels. That isn't the point. Never got an apology from the tech, and they didn't do the entire job so now i have to deal with them again. Do not use these people. I suggest anyone BUT these people unless your looking for a company that will move at their pace not worry about whats going on and not give two turds if a mistake happens or making things happen. Aside from this, the rep that came to the house before installation was amazing. Also spoke to him after disaster because they didn't do something that was in the paperwork which was not done. Apologized for the flooding, said geez you have a lot of tech down there that could have been ruined, and immediately said no problem ill make sure that work that didnt get done gets done. Cant get an apology from the technician, got some towels, and this guy is apologizing for something he had nothing to do with and goes above and beyond to assure me hes on it and stuff will be addressed with urgency and guile. He made me feel like a paying customer, not an employee paycheck. His name is Greg Snyder, they need about 40 more of those. Great guy, absolutely Amazing! Updated*** I was going to delete all of this but its a good example of good companies that want to remain in the best sights of customers and potential consumers by going above and beyond hastily trying to make things right is what people need to see. The owner spoke to me, Greg Snyder was there, and though the installation may not have gone according to plan and some employees arguing and causing stress bullied a little bit, I was rest assured I am a paying customer, a valued asset, not a paycheck. He addressed every single issue in the above post, explained, apologized and just simply made me feel that They aren't walking away unless This customer is 100 percent whole and satisfied. You cant ask any more then that of a company. More companies like that should be out there. Let the above and this be a positive role in choosing these guys in whatever particular need you have, even if it doesn't go smoothly and a hurricane roles through they will make sure the job is done right, fix any issues, and put you first. Amazing Heating and Air conditioning were seriously the best from start to finish. Our 30 year old furnace went up, we were able to identify an issue but couldn't repair it on our own. We contacted amazing to get second opinion before making the costly decision to replace the system with the first company that came out. Amazing sent out tech Josh G. who went above and beyond. He was able to get our system back up and running temporarily which gave us the chance to actually research systems and what we wanted installed. Josh is a fantastic tech and we are extremely grateful to his dedication to helping us! We knew our fix was temporary so we went ahead and scheduled to receive a quote. Greg S. came out and again we have nothing but great things to say. Greg listened to our thoughts and was honest with us the entire time. I had a system installed in my house then a year later had a system installed in my mother in laws house and both times I had a flawless experience with this company. Andrew the owner is the voice in all the radio commercials and he talks on the radio commercials about being a very moral and good person. He backs all the talk up. Poor follow up, They take a long time to return calls if ever Poor management of the issues that came from the new heating system they installed. Had issues with the new heating system and they are taking there time to resolve the issues. 3 months and counting!!!!!!! Still have a cold home after a 10K new heating system. TLDR: Amazing's service is Amazing. Amazing's management not so much. Look elsewhere, or at least seek other estimates. Unfortunately I have used Amazing's services for over two years and have not had a satisfactory experience. I originally hired them to install two Mitsubishi ductless units in my Baltimore City home. The installs went fine, Mitsubushis are a fine product. They also (at the prompting of their sales rep) installed a passthrough fan which was not. I called the rep back, who confirmed that yes, it was not performing correctly, but there was nothing to do about it. I'd accept that if if was not an additional $1800 charge. I accept that I authorized this work but the sales rep should have had a better idea if this fan would work, and when it didn't, have a better suggestion than "well, just put up light blocking drapes" which was marginally better but not worth an almost 2k add-on to my services, and an additional cost because it was installed incorrectly and I had to have another electrician inspect and fix the wiring. This year, I was up for my annual re-inspection of my AC system. Amazing's technician was prompt, courteous, and the representative arrived on time. I informed him that my compressor had been disconnected over the winter, and that it should be checked for pressure, etc. which he took note of and went to work. He was in my house for a good 2 hours or so...and when he finished he said all was in order. I asked him again about the compressor, and he confirmed all was OK. A few weeks later, I noticed that the AC was having issues running and requested that it be checked out. Again, the customer service team made scheduling easy and convenient. A second technician arrived, inspected the system and told me that the system should not be running at all--that running the system would, in fact cause permanent damage to the compressor. He added that there were both issues with the compressor and the interior unit. I asked them if this was something that the first inspector should have noted, and they said that they had no access to the first inspector's report, so they couldn't say. He provided me with an estimate and I agreed to go ahead with repairs. I scheduled a third appointment, and once more the service was fine. The agent came and did the work. It was clear that this was not just a minor repair--they were working all day (you would think that something that major would have been caught the first time) and completed the job successfully. I told them I did not want to pay until I had spoken to someone higher up about this situation, and asked if I'd be invoiced, which they confirmed. Over the weekend I found that Amazing had gone ahead and run the charge without my authorization. I had signed up for their annual maintenance plan, but didn't expect them to use my credit card freely. I don't blame the tech for this, how would he know about billing? But it an unpleasant surprise. Amazing's service people are just that. Amazing. They are good at their jobs, and my experience was satisfactory. The problem is in management and sales: my experience with them has been at best passable and at worst very frustrating. Ask for very specific notes, info and follow-through, and be sure to get estimates from other folks. Would not recommend after this experience. read more

Avoid! Gave Amazing a chance based on a positive review from a neighbor and joined their "Comfort Club" subscription, where you pay a monthly fee (mine was about $35/month for two systems, one electric heat pump and one gas furnace/AC system) in exchange for two "tune ups" per year, one in spring and one in fall. You also purportedly get priority emergency service which I never needed. You do NOT get any priority for the tune ups. Unfortunately, I didn't see much value in the Comfort Club - for $420/year I can easily have my systems serviced once or twice a year or on an as-needed basis by almost any company. Amazing technicians would spend two hours "tuning up" the systems on their visits, but really just spending time identifying a dizzying set of alleged problems on each system, taking a bunch of random photos that are meaningless to a layperson, and never being able to quote a new system because that was a separate division. No free filter changes or anything like that. The last straw was my spring tune-up being unceremoniously cancelled at the tail-end of the appointment window after I had arranged to work from home the whole day. When I rescheduled, the tech took almost 2.5 hours and did not clearly explain what line-items would be required to recharge the refrigerant in my heat pump. On a call with "Rob" that same day later, he was extremely rude. Best decision I ever made was cancelling the Comfort Club subscription and getting competitive quotes for ongoing maintenance and a brand new system from 6 other vendors! Remember that you have plenty of HVAC vendor choices in the Baltimore Metro area and there is no reason to rely on one or two recommendations - SHOP AROUND!!! read more

Currently in Baltimore: 91 degrees, feels like 97 degrees. And somewhere around 900% humidity. Ahhh July! So once our AC stopped pumping cold air, I started to panic. Went outside, poked at the unit, decided this was way out of my league. I asked Reddit for suggestions on an HVAC tech to come take a look. Amazing Heating & AC was recommended by several people. We called that morning and scheduled someone to come look at the unit this morning. They gave a time frame of 8-11 a.m. They told us over the phone the tech would give us an idea of price before he started working on the unit, which is awesome. The tech (I don't remember his name) arrived exactly at 8 a.m. He was courteous, professional, and most importantly FIXED OUR AC!!! The price was reasonable, he was in and out in about an hour, and now I am writing this review in my cooled-down home. I couldn't be happier! Highly recommend Amazing to anyone who needs HVAC work. Something off about them. Up sell at every chance (unsolicited recs on how to "improve efficiency"), though I did take them up on the comfort club membership at first. Then they said they can't replace any of the filters in our AC bc they're all the wrong size (the last company that came out didn't have that issue), and finally they came out to look at the AC making a loud noise- said it was the blower motor...and turned it off. Completely. Said we need to just replace the AC completely (said that last time too) and kept pushing expensive & immediate replacement. Went without AC during the major heat spell...but then got a hold of another company, turns out that while yes the system needs replacement, it is still functional! Other company fixed it in literally a few minutes (it was the fan, not the motor) and now it's working. Oh, I'll still replace it, but not with "Amazing." I wonder if it was a lack of knowledge of what was the real A/C issue...or was it intentional that they turned off our A/C completely, unnecessarily, and then left pushing immediate full replacement (by their company)...I'll never know, because I won't be calling them back. This company has been great. Really earning their name. The people who answer the phone, the estimator, and the installers were all professional, punctual, and efficient. The install was smooth and quick and within under 2 hours I had cold air. A month later, during the 95 degree heat, I had an issue with the humidity in my basement that was affecting the unit's efficiency and they fixed it the next day. Highly recommend. read more

I called amazing air and asked for the technician to come out and fix a leak in my coil. The CSR said it would cost $99 to come out and look at the system and they don't have pricing. I told her that I already had one HVAC technician look at the system and he told me that you would need a charge the system with nitrogen to find the leak. The tech came out and was going to charge $693 just to charge the system with nitrogen then told me that he might be able to fix leaks on the ends, but nit in the middle of the coil. 7 liters of R22 would cost $736. I was told the nitrogen cost was ridiculous price and had they told me initially the cost, I would not have had them over. I strongly recommend that you call another company, one that does not charge you up front and cant give you any initial baseline pricing. read more

Well, from the Yelp reviews, it seems you either love or completely dislike Amazing -- there is no middle ground. I guess I now know why. Amazing came highly recommended by my next door neighbor who had a new heating and cooling system installed in their home last summer. They could not say enough good things about them. I called last week for a winter checkup on my heating unit and was given a lot of options for service. What I thought we had settled on was that someone would come out and assess my unit to see if there was anything wrong with it for a $99 service fee. If there were repairs or any service that needed to be done, those charges would be extra but the $99 fee would be waived if i had them complete the repairs or service. Reasonable, right? Additionally, the person told me that they offer a 'Comfort Care' policy that provides routine service check in winter for the heat and in summer for the a/c. It cost $204. I was interested in that policy as I have had them in the past, but the person said that if I got it now, it would not apply until the Spring cleaning for the a/c. Because of that, i decided to wait until the spring to do that but wanted to go ahead with the heater service call now. My appointment was today between 12 and 3. I got a call at 2:45 wanting to know exactly what they were coming to my home to do! It seemed to me that they should have known what they were coming to do, but I said just a routine check of the heater for the winter and was told that was going to be $330! WHAT??? He said, if you were to sign up for the Comfort Care policy this service call would be covered under that. Well -- reference the paragraph above where he told me that the policy would not take effect until the Spring cleaning for the a/c! He said, well technically that's correct but if you had insisted we would have made an exception! (Honestly, i still don't know what happened to the $99 quote for the maintenance check, but at this point, I didn't really care). I decided this is not the type of company that i want to do business with and told the gentleman that. My advice -- call someone else... read more

I called Amazing to check out my heat pump system because it wasn't keeping up with the cooling when it was extremely hot out (above 90-degrees or so). The tech came in check the system and told me that my thermal expansion valve was shot and it would cost me over $2000 dollars and I really should just replace the system. He also told me that the installation was extremely shoddy, which I think is actually true. Finally, he told me that I have a slow refrigerant leak and that my refrigerant is low. He quoted me several prices from a few hundred dollars to refill the refrigerant to a couple thousand dollars to replace the TXV. I told him that I wasn't prepared to spend the money at that time, paid the $99 diagnostic fee, and sent him on his way. Three days later, my outdoor unit stopped working. To be clear, I don't think there's any likelihood that this failure is Amazing's fault. Since I wanted a second opinion on what Amazing had told me anyway, I called another local company that was recommended by a friend. They sent two techs out the next day (I'd called in the evening). In less than an hour, the diagnosed the problem with the outdoor unit (failed capacitor that was visibly bulging at the end), fixed it, and determined that there was nothing else wrong with my system besides the shoddy installation. I spent a total of $135 with them including the capacitor replacement. The upshot is that Amazing tried to sell me a collection of expensive repairs (or an even more expensive full new system) that I absolutely did not need. Our heat pump broke on one of the coldest nights of the year. We didn't notice it until 7pm. I called Amazing and asked for a appointment the next morning and a technician (Jeremy) came out on time. They told me over the phone that the technician will diagnose the problem and give me a written report and cost BEFORE they do anything. If I didn't want to do it, I just pay $99 for them to come out, if I did want the work done, the $99 is waived. My plan was to see the problem/estimate and call my step dad who is an HVAC person but lives far away to see if it was legit/fair pricing. Well the technician fixed it before telling me because he said it wasn't that big of a deal. He also recommended removing an old humidifier that was possibily spreading mold everywhere and patch up the whole once it was removed. I told him to go ahead because you don't mess around with mold. All in all the heat pump is fixed, there is no more moldy humidifier, and my step dad ended up saying that the pricing was really reasonable. :) I am very pleased with how fast they came out and how awesome the tech was. read more

We were having some trouble with the A/C in our house last Friday afternoon... the air vents were blowing air, but it wasn't cold. It looked like the condenser wasn't spinning up at all. After enduring a warm, humid night in the house, we called around the next day and finally found the listing for Amazing on Yelp. I was a bit cautious because the reviews were mixed, but having a stuffy hot house with a newborn, and no options left (other than waiting until Monday), I decided to go with Amazing. All I have to say was that they lived up to their name. The call center was friendly and promptly got us connected to the dispatcher, who was able to get a technician to our house in less than an hour. Jeremy the technician was able to assess the situation and make the repair quickly, probably in less than 30 minutes. He clearly explained everything that was going on while he was making the repairs. The price for the parts and service seemed on par with what my research told me, although you do have to expect to pay $99 for an emergency appointment. It was worth it in my opinion (also, the landlord paid for it, so definitely worth it!). I'd definitely recommend Amazing if you're in need of emergency HVAC repairs. read more

poor customer service. service manager insulted me, called me derogatory names while defaming my character. when all I was looking for was for someone to right a wrong. I was actually looking forward to them coming to look at my furnace and was hoping to find a trusted company but was given the complete opposite of what I expected. first no one called me with an update, I had to call, then no one showed by 5pm after I waited patiently all day during their 8-5 window. finally at 5:10 i reached out again only to be met with an after hours line that couldn't help me at all. once I spoke to SM, he insulted me, called me derogatory names and defamed my character all because I was understandably upset for being "brushed off" by everyone I had come into contact the entire day and given excuse after excuse with no solution that was going to benefit me. So I had issues with my heater and smoke coming out of it. Called someone and they couldn't be out til Dec. Called someone else and they couldn't be out for 2 weeks. I was referred to Amazing HVAC and they were just that amazing. Called on Monday, explained the situation and got someone out Wednesday. I was notified via text the status and called before the tech got there. Tech was Ryan. He gets there figures it out within 15 minutes. Looked like there was a blockage in my chimney and the Carbon Monoxide meter was off the charts. Cleared out the Chimney and did a one over to get it working so we had heat that night. Came back first thing in the morning for a full cleaning and maintenance and got it running smoothly. I can see why they call themselves AMAZING bc if it was anyone else I would still be waiting for them to come out and would have been freezing on this cold weekend!!! Chris read more
